You guys know what to do! Tell me about the good and the bad.

Also! When those who participated talk IC, please feel free to say you were victorious-- this was technically a draw, but both sides completed their objectives, so everyone wins!

Here are somethings that I think prevented the event from being the best it could have been:
  • Low playercount on Civil Protection side made it hard to properly balance for them. (If you have suggestions on how to balance for low civil protection playercounts, post them!)
  • Unbalanced sniper hitting entirely too many times (All awps will be annihilated from the server going forward)
  • Overwatch NPCs had too much health.
  • There is some messed up balancing with the OICW and the OSIPR.

yeah, it's a real shame about the lack of numbers because a real force-on-force conflict without the use of things like NPCs and helicopters would've made it feel a little less artificial, but there's nothing that can be done on the night unfortunately

one issue i did have however was inconsistent weather rendering through stormvox - i'm more than sure people could see me while I couldn't see them as random massive mist particles would appear in my sights but again - that's an addon issue rather than a event-running issue

things did get a little hazy as a result of the weather and time of day, visibility being pretty piss-poor which probably helped with prolonging the fights as much as it did, which was fun thematically

another issue we had on the rebel side was the propping and decoration - i got stuck on numerous occassions mid firefight and while the propping looked cool having everything be frozen so it couldn't be wrangled out of place mid combat was a miss, imo - I did get stuck on a set of debris and had to spam /help to be unstuck as it was kinda mid firefight lol

NPCs were already mentioned but, once again - it wouldn't have been a problem if we had the numbers and considering it was probably a spur of the moment thing, it made sense in-character, even if they were completely bulletproof (one even chased me to the area where I got stuck, using the jump animations, which was cool and immersive [until he took eight full magazines to take down lol])

but, yeah - overall it was fun and a nice little distraction from the main server

Yeah, the AWP is hella OP, I used it too in another event and I was told off midway to miss more, hit less because it's just way too powerful. I was hoping for more players overall, it was very skim. But nonetheless, it was challenging, downed once, killed a few CPs and it was a little tense a few times.

Honestly, I was bored during this. The OP AWP lead you to die with 2 shots despite the 100hp and 75 armor we had. Visibility was terrible, 90% of the time I didn't see my enemy. I sprayed entire magazines into rebels, and they owned me with a pistol. I don't know what you feed these rebels, but damn.

Narrative or Objective was poorly defined, 99% of the time. I was confused, bored or shot at from someone who I didn't even see. I died more times, than I actually saw my enemy due to either OP AWP or being it too dark ingame.

Tl:dr
- OP AWP kills you in two shots with 100hp 75armor
- Combine side had no objective really, it was confusing
- too dark to see your opponent
- Rebels ate entire magazines (might be a skill issue)
- I felt more "run at the enemy, and die." than "investigate and discover"

2/10, the 2 because of the achievement.
