Made this suggestion a long time ago, but I still think it's needed
So, let's say a kind Rank Leader walks into your restaurant! He wants a pretzel and a donut. Very nice.
but wait! You're only Cooking Level 19! How will you please the Rank Leader now?
I come with a solution: Food quality!
By default, you will be able to cook most dishes regardless of your XP level. The most complex ones would be locked, but a solid 70% would be available. What your XP level does affect, however, is the quality of that food.
Every food item will have a quality value in its description, on a scale of... 1 to 10? This quality also affects how much hunger it fills, how extreme the attribute buffs are, how long they last, etc etc. This varies randomly slightly, but a level one chef (for example) would be able to make a pretzel at 1 or 2 quality consistently, maybe 3 if he's lucky.
This means that having a higher level when cooking means quite a bit more, and it creates some RP. Imagine a Ron Goodfella cooking competition, but it's not all based on random rolls.
but most of all, it means you can actually physically make complicated food without grinding, even if the food turns out a little shit. This was a big problem for me in the January launch and, although it's improved, I still see stores unable to sell basic foods because they're a level or two off.
