-Backstory- Gustavo Baldo was born April 15th 1981 in Campania, just off the gulf of Naples in Italy in a gypsy campground. His early life was often spent being chased by the local authorities, Until at the age of 16 where his good friend Tonio “Tony” Rivera would introduce him into the Nuccio crime family. Tony introduced Gus to many people who taught him what he knows today, including: Muziano 'Roulette' Nuccio, Lucio Moscone and Filippo Addemaro. The five of them ran their own small part of town. With Muziano as their capo they got into more professional standards of crime, such as extortion and money laundering using a restaurant as their front for business.  The five were often tasked with taking out business rivals to the Nuccio family, often being a dangerous task bringing lots of attention. After the unfortunate death of Lucio Moscone in one of these tasks, the attention of a few law enforcement officers peaked, Including the attention of an officer named Angelo Ricci.Drugs were a large problem with these competitors, as the Nuccio Family was strictly against drugs it often led to wannabe’s becoming drug dealers on family turf, which was not taken lightly. Gustavo took pride in removing filth from the city streets and often used the money he generated to bring the homeless from the streets and refurbish public areas. Gustavo and the crew eventually had some heat on them and were investigated and found guilty of tax fraud, leading to fines and imprisonment for a few months. Gus didn’t care much as the respect he had generated saw he had an easy sentence and still had a say in family matters from behind bars. Soon after the crew was released, the combine invaded. The Nuccio family and the police force put their differences aside and helped fend off important structures and evacuate civilians, though they would eventually fall just like everyone else. Gus would make his home in Rome, now named city 32, and would live there for many years. During those years he would recount his life experiences and eventually devote himself to the Lord, becoming a Christian. While he believed what he did was wrong, he used religion and the greater good to justify his actions as if not him, it would have just been someone else. Gustavo would soon be relocated to city 24, where he would hope to begin a new life with a new start. -Present Day- Gustavo would arrive into city 24 with nothing except his knowledge and ambitions. He would quickly find contacts, old and new, and meticulously plan his new life. In the early days he would meet a few dwellers of the Indigent zone, quickly becoming accustomed to their way of life. Making chips was easy, finding things to spend them on was the hard part. Everyone wants something, knows something, or fears something, all of which can be profitable if you play your cards right. Life here was hard, but it was home.  Gus would manage to swindle his way into ownership of "Little Italy" Indigent one. He would use this as his staging ground. He'd recruit from the area around him, meeting new faces and old to form his own family, his family. He'd die for his people, and he'd hope they'd do the same. After a short time Gus learned the operations of the area, creating an area for his family to store their goods and use for refuge. After some short time, he'd be tortured by civil protection forces after his suspected involvement in many of crimes, and lost ownership of the store. This would make Gus quite paranoid, but he'd also come to an understanding. The man was already dead.  Gustavo Baldo was diagnosed with lung cancer soon after the torture, humoring him, as the man knew he was to die. It was a terminal disease, but he decidedto take that personally. Gus decided that he would leave behind a legacy, one he could be proud of, and others could look up to. Gustavo took upon the name "The Gypsy" and became known throughout the vortessence, bringing two vortigaunts to freedom but losing friends along the way. Gustavo planned to retire there, but heard of a city that needed help... City 17. He initially refused to visit, but eventually booked a flight, making use of an old friend from London. He arrived in the city, and was happy to be among friends, family and more. Gustavo decided to take a few people out on a lead, but was found by civil protection. He died in a firefight soon after, going down like a true man.  |
-A personal account- Living a life like mine... Jesus. I'm many things, but I am not often a liar. I prefer the truth, I always seek to have some truth in what I do, and I've found it. The truth is, if there is a Heaven I'm not gonna see it, the things I did have basically banned me from even thinking about such places, though that isn't all bad. I'll never make it to heaven, so I got nothing to hold me back anymore... No reason to stop, no limitations. I like to think that I died in Italy below the rubble, and in some ways I'm right. A piece of me died long ago, the Gustavo people see being a shell that my mind operates... One more day, one more week. There is not excuse for the things I've done, but the way I see things I'm the lesser of all evils, but I'm still an evil one at that. It's just my nature. These last few weeks are proof that if I did die in Italy, my body is catching up. A rough estimate gives me a year and a half tops, so I best make the best of this shit...  |

Perhaps I am to blame, and my actions from the past have come to punish me and the ones I have closest... I know you would want me to continue, but it is hard to plan without you. Nat You are a hard worker, and you seem well liked in the community, though I am unsure I can trust you with any "real" business Raymond Bishop I see myself in him, and I with to help him become a better man and give him something to be proud of. He seems trustworthy enough for my business, though only time will tell. Anthony Mazzi Where do I begin with you... You give me a weird vibe, and yet you were the first to treat me with the proper respect I am owed. You introduced me to your old boss, so I can respect that at least. Zoey I still don't trust you, in fact I probably trust you less than I did before, however I now know you trust me, and that I can work my head around much easier. Crowe A gypsy woman, continuing my parents tradition... I don't like that I believe what she does, but she does it well. We'll see if the readings are true. I can't blame you for the readings, but I wish they were in better spirit. I can't wait to go into business with you. Lukas You run the shelter, but I know the other side to you... I don't know if you would take the position if it were not laid upon you. I am fine doing business with you, I believe in your potential and I trust you enough to know you won't snitch on me without reason, though if you were faced with death who knows what'll happen. Clary A good woman, though your confidence in me is something to be desired. Trust me, I know what I'm doing. I trust you, but how far can I throw you is the question. I need to know your limits, your morals... I need to know more about you, which I found out exactly not too long ago. You are a fine fighter, and loyal to the core. I was lucky to have you fight alongside me. Doc We got history, and history can get you a long way, especially with me... With that being said I expect you to pull your weight as much as anyone else, so far you haven't disappointed. Crazy to think I knew you from shining god damn shoes... Babylon You taught Tonio everything he knew, and if you are anything like him then that is a bonus, though for some reason I can't fully trust you... I feel like you're hiding something, maybe that's just my paranoia... Maybe it isn't. Time will only tell. Claire I don't understand your generosity, you are a great person and an even greater help... I wish circumstances were different, and I am sorry the situation has come to this.
