Have Civil Protection stop randomly isolating people

Hey man, a whole bunch of cops are very openly refusing in this suggestion. It seems that even their senior members think this is acceptable.
Why wouldn't isolating a group of 4+ citizens not be acceptable?.

But anyways we'll see what whoever lead closes the thread says.

What's wrong with asking a large group of people to move elsewhere? Do you want us to arrest your chars for 17N too?

Yeah, I don't understand it as well, why are the CPs so rude, can't they just be nice and let me make close friendships in this city?

I thought we had gotten over this on V1, everytime I've been on the server recently and roleplaying in the street, park, benches etc. cops have come over and told everyone to clear off. Repeatedly. It's very annoying and I was under the impression this kind of useless attitude that only cramps down on roleplay was behind us.
Also i think i don't understand but is this complaint about Civil Protection doing what their faction is supposed to do?
Oppressing citizens and maintaining socio-stability by preventing resistance cells to be formed?

If you don't want CPs coming at you and telling you to move along or isolating then just go to the Slums or bring your people to your Apartments.

I don't think the issue is telling them to isolate. There are other ways to engage with civilian crowds rather than just walk up and tell them to fuck off. It's such a worn-out trope and it doesn't add whatsoever to the 'dystopian' atmosphere that some are speaking about. The issue is that some cops have no creativity on how to engage with citizens on a level that is both within the faction's image AND still creates a more interesting situation for all involved.

A thorough loyalty check, intimidation tactics, putting them to work (which solves the underlying issue, idleness, which causes the forming of the group to begin with) are all examples of what a unit could do rather than giving them the ol' one two isolate.

mr rad-x agreed with my advise so maybe our cause isnt hopeless after all.....

I think CP should be more than able to tell Citizens to break it up. But I also think it should be selective oppression.

If there's a casual conversation going on between people in public maybe stand nearby and make them uncomfortable. If there's a crowd forming and they're being a bit loud order them to disperse. That's my two cents.

That's understandable and i agree with this, some CPs should be indeed more creative on how to approach citizens.

I usually question the nature and purpose of the gathering, take out whoever gives me sass, that kind of thing. Adds more to it than <:: Isolate! ::>

It is 100% the issue. The problem is that it isn't enforced/taught, so our cops are going to have this mindset perpetually unless something is done about it.

I have a creative idea to deal with gatherings. Instead of isolating everyone I pick one person and beat them up. When will it be your turn?

I think it should be like a limit, like 5+ people huddled around gives off bad vibes to the combine, like 3 people at a table with some coffee? That's probably fine.

>take it ic against a faction they cant do anything about
are you also gonna tell us to deal IC with OTA?

Locked the thread. This has already been settled.

Being in a large group, maybe a CP would sorta find that suspicious, especially if whispering is involved. Then you may get told to split up and isolate from the area. Other reasons is if you are near an area which is:

A: Considered suspicious
B: A anti-civil activity happened in the area recently
C: Something is in progress in the localized area currently and thus CPs are trying to get all citizens away from the area entirely.

In short, CPs will isolate people in large groups or those in areas which are currently under investigation/anti-civil activity ongoing/recent. Better to go to a building or rp hub for large gatherings instead, just out on the streets or public zones, CPs may get a bit suspicious and thus thin the crowd.

When CPs allow large groups to "RP" in public zones, it basically allows said groups to just organize in the open and start riots. In short, it depends on the circumstance.

In the end, its individually based, not faction based. If a unit does it to you out of the blue for little to no reason, then yeah, grab the units tagline and give it to the leads so they can investigate and find out why. This is not a faction wide issue. Isolation from my own experience playing citizen 80% of the time has not even happened anyway. And the instances where isolation does happen, it has been for good reasons thus far.
