Hey all, some of you might recognize me from joining the Willard Dev Team back in early 2021, my Source addons, ArtStation or an old pal you used to chat with a few years back.

It's more than certain that an even less percentage of you might know that i was hired as a Junior 3D Artist at a game-dev studio back in late March / early April.

Well, things really looked perfect at start, but it turned around real quick So by the end of my first "real" month of the job, meaning past the trial month, a lot of uncanny and sometimes straight up evil things started happening
When i was first interviewed i was promised a friendly atmosphere, flexible hours and no crunch or mobbing policy in the studio
Whilst some of the promises were kept, a lot of them have been broken and me being a real freshie in the industry, i did not want to let go and just went along with it It started of by me being yelled on and straight up cussed out once i was seen clocked in even 5 minutes late, unexpectedly appearing crunch work by giving me tasks to do over the weekend with the simple explanation "if you want to advance from a junior you have to do a little extra" to then refusing to give me a well-deserved raise, since i myself asked for a very low payroll at start thinking that I'll be able to handle everything with a smaller amount, however they managed to push me into moving to their city (Kraków), where prices tend to go up almost 2x, by telling me that it would be a requirement since all Juniors have to work on site now, even though they never said anything about relocating since the offer was for remote work and remote work only.
During the pandemic, i was forced to move to a new, bigger city, worked for a little above minimal wage in Poland, and be constantly hit with mobbing and offensive work ethic
Whilst most of my colleagues from work managed to file in their resignations, funnily enough a lot of them being people from far ends like me, India, Malaysia or the second end of Poland just like me, i decided to keep on since losing my job now would mean me losing everything, even if it was hard to live paycheck-to-paycheck in Kraków and i had to do an insane amount of over hours to meet ends meet (I sometimes did over 90 hours over.)
Well, this week I've received my dismissal, reasoning of it being our project being cancelled because of the amount of people who signed in their resignations (over 4/5 of the Art team left since April.) and us not having enough people or proper organization to finish it properly.
So essentially i have a one week period to find a new job, which is extremely hard today since job offers in Poland (especially game-dev) have been really lackluster, add to that there being a really small amount if they ever appear.

I know a lot of y'all might ask me why was i so naïve to work there, move, and tolerate the conditions?
I wasn't experienced, i was very new to professional gamedev, and being me and trying to pursue this dream of working as a full-fledged 3D artist in a studio made me really scared to resign out of fear that I'd never get this opportunity again, also fearing the possibility of them somehow destroying the other available paths.
I've regained my composure, talked about the situation a lot (especially with my work colleagues), and realized that it's not so black/white as it seems, and there is a lot more to this game then what some might tell you.

So, by me writing up this post and telling you about my situation, I've wanted to organize a little fund-raiser to help me get through the rest of this month, and i would appreciate any kind of help or words of wisdom provided to help me get through this.

I will use the funds raised to travel back to Warmian Masurian, hopefully find a small and affordable room/apartment where i could stay until i find a new job/get going with freelancing, food and general supplies.
Thank you all again, I know some of you might not understand but a lot of you played a major part in me pursing this dream of mine, the encouragements I've seen each time I posted a new model, critiques and words of wisdom, it really meant a lot to me.

REALLY talented 3D modeler, I'll send some your way to contribute

I can get you a whole five dollars. Hope that helps.

You are a superb fucking artist my dude. The industry really exploits that. Sorry they fucked you over.

Yes felow poland brother good luck i recently moved to usa it was hard but worth it stay strong

Here is thirty of my filthy Australian dollars.

I get my paycheck this Tuesday, I'll gladly contribute some to help a fellow Polish brother out. Love from Bialystok my friend, I hope you'll manage to find a place to stay that won't destroy your budget.

Thank you all! I did not expect i'd receive so much support and kind words, i appreciate you all so much! ❤️

Why not throw 5 dollars into the pot. Thanks for the good work, the future will be made by digital artists.

To be fair, I offered you work and you ghosted me 👀
But, I'll contribute either way. I would suggest you frequently scan Gmodstore for modelling jobs - there's always someone asking for something in there, and usually with pretty good prices.
