HL2RP Factions Tier List

If you enjoy playing as a malnourished, oppressed member of society you are a masochist.

Citizen RP is extremely boring, and is effectively impossible to get right.

Citizens are simply a vessel for you to access another whitelist or rank, such as CP, CWU, CMU, CCA, rebel, etc.

Nobody is going to play as regular shitizen for a long period of time.

I like the hot take but it's wrong.

Every faction needs citizens to be fun. The best part of Civil Protection is how citizens can be unpredictable and varied, playing as a vortigaunt interacting with other vortigaunts will never be as fun as one trying to learn with citizens, and the best part on playing citizens is allowing your starting neutral character to be influenced by either rebels or loyalists.

Without citizens, every faction is an F.

Also they are not malnourished when they're able to stuff their faces with food from the businesses.

Citizen RP is the lifeblood and most important part of HL2RP, not your 'I haven't found a faction yet' button. If you genuinely think this I have no idea why you are playing HL2RP at all.
In my eight years of RP, can I not agree more. This is objectively correct, and no matter what you will not be able to change my mind.
Mans spoke truth 100%

the red pill is that cityRP is inherently flawed because nobody wants to actually roleplay as the oppressed in a dystopian setting like HL2RP

citizen is boring. try playing as a normal citizen (not a loyalist, not a worker, not a medic) for any extended period of time and come back and detail how many memorable moments you CREATED by being that citizen

citizen RP is the lifeblood because new players are citizens and if they even remotely enjoy their experience they will stick around and inevitably join other whitelists.

You are simply wrong. If you create a boring character with no ambition that walks around getting rations and doing work shifts, yeah, you're not going to have any memorable moments. But if you create a dynamic character and actively embed yourself into the stories of individuals and groups around you, you can get unforgettable character development.

If you're a new player reading this: your faction does not define how much fun you have. Certain factions open up certain avenues for roleplay but always at the cost of other avenues that you lose. Citizen Roleplay manages to be the broadest on the server, with a huge variance of development and potential within it.

Sure as a cop you gain access to more action and some comradery RP with your fellow cops, but you lose a huge amount of day-to-day passive interaction and relationships that you would get as a citizen. As a Civil Worker you have an objective given to you, but you're tied to that objective and lose the dynamism that a normal citizen has.

The truth is that factions give your characters pre-built objectives, and therefore if your character is aimless and has no goals, obviously they'll have more fun in a faction. But you should endeavor to make a character with goals and a coherent worldview, and these characters will be so much more interesting as effective free agents that have more RP open to them than anyone else.

go outside and make connections with real people

What a surprise, they started arguing over personal opinion about how rp and factions should be done.

What an unfortunate outcome.

>gets owned
>resorts to insults

:troll:

i have the same opinion of serious cityRP players like people on GTA world

like time to get off my 9-5 IRL to work my 9-5 at los santos customs

Imho
S tier is base of RP
A Tier is Chars providing RP
B tier is good RP only if people behind it are good at chars
C Lack of actual task in the city imho, being repetitive
D A lot of circlejerk, cannot even be considered as RP unless there are refugees which would count as S tier

Imagine telling people to go outside but getting triggered and starting arguments on a thread about HL2RP factions, turtles could never. :alien:
