"They fear what is good."
The world ended before we were even here to realise it. From the dawn of humanity, we have been plagued by their presence. They've been tricking us into fighting among ourselves, torturing us, and making sure we're never co-ordinated enough to fight back. We still live because they're arrogant, and sadistic, but most importantly, meaningless without something to torment. The disjointed world described below is the only world you've ever known - you have never truly tasted normal life.
They are the fallen angels. Most know them as demons, devils, or simply monsters. They exist in spirit form; poltergeists capable of object manipulation, possession, and influence over the sinful. This is their most powerful form, but fortunately they crave mortal bodies. Possession of the living is possible, but difficult, however most prefer possession of the dead, meaning the vast majority of demons on Earth are inhabiting corpses. Each demon is immortal, but destruction of the body casts the demon's soul back to the depths it came from, forcing it to make the arduous journey back up. Being incapable of creation, they have allowed us to progress technology. Phones and radios exist, but are a rarity. TVs are more common, but used only to play DVDs or VHS tapes. Firearms are plentiful, but whilst there is a high amount of weapons in the world, a vast majority are owned by the dead.
Welcome to the States. You are an American citizen in this hostile world. Whilst the USA still exists, in concept, the land has been divided since it's inception. The states themselves are a vague concept - asking anyone to draw a map and they'll design a unique set of borders - because in truth each group that lives in the country is alone, with extremely limited means of contact to anyone else, and in constant fear of being trampled by a demonic hoarde of even moderate size. Priests do their best to protect their communities, and religious scientists and scholars attempt to devise ways to beat back the demons, but breakthroughs are difficult due to the utter lack of organisation.
The rest of the world has not been spared. The East suffers similar afflictions to the Western world. Asia is in a worse state than the Americas. A barren wasteland. But there are rumours of underground communities there. Sometimes a small spark of scientific progress sparks through word of mouth among travellers until they have reached every lone city in the country, and each time the old rumour is replayed that it came from Asia. Are these just ridiculous rumours, or is there really a hidden community there? Europe is war torn. Large communties exist in much higher quantities than in the states, some countries are even organised enough to honestly declare themselves as singular countries. However, the leaders of these places are, at best, corrupt, and at worse, possessed by powerful demons. Most of the continent is in open conflict with itself, and has been for the last hundred years.
But there is hope. It is said that the walls surrounding Africa are 500 feet tall. The continent is organised, intelligent, and determined to be rid of the demonic presence. People from all over the world give everything they have for a chance at immigrating there. But it is very difficult to get in. The vetting process is thorough, and you are expected to be able to provide something valuable in exchange for your entry.

But who are you in all this?
(Roles)
Survivor (Unlimited. Expected amount 3~):
You live in a small community with a population of just under a thousand that has suffered siege from a hoarde of demons less than 12 hours ago. The town is ravaged - blood decorates the street but there are no corpses. You've hid past the worst of it, taking a spot underground with the rest of the survivors. One of you is lucky enough to have a radio, and you've called for help. Now all there is to do is wait.
Weaknesses:
You are unarmed, with little ability to protect yourself from spirits, and no weapons to physically defend yourself.
Strengths:
You start united with other survivors, as well as the police officers. Not only this, but if it comes to battle, you are likely to be overlooked. One of you will have a UV flashlight, which does a small amount of physical damage, but is effective against spirits.
Police Officer (2 slots):
Your story is similar to the other survivors. You lived in this place before the hoarde came, and when things got bad you hid underground with the rest. It was your duty to protect these people, but there was nothing you could do. You can protect these people, though, and with help potentially on the way, and most of the hoarde gone past, there is hope.
Weaknesses:
You are unarmed against spirits.
Strengths:
You wield a USP with one mag, as well as some basic meds. You start united with the other police officer as well as the group of survivors.
Priest (UNAVAILABLE) (@Raptorian):
You are the local priest. Working alone, near the edge of this colony, you were one of the first attacked by the demons. But they fear the church. Using it to your advantage, as well as your shotgun, you survived the onslaught. Unfortunately, you were injured, and lost consciousness before you could reunite with anyone else. The injuries are severe... by all means, it's a miracle you're alive.
Weaknesses:
You start injured and alone.
Strengths:
You have a model 870 shotgun with 6 bullets left and a cross to ward off evil. You are also vastly knowledgable about religious affairs.
Saviour (3 slots):
You are an outsider who heard a call for help over the radio and decided to try and help. You could be anyone. Perhaps you are an immigrant from another country, or one of the nomadic priests that have been known to wander the lands to help in these very occasions. Regardless, you have met up with 2 others, one of whom had a working car, and have been heading towards the city to rescue whoever remains.
Weaknesses:
You do not start with a firearm, and you start outside of town.
Strengths:
You can choose between wielding a UV flashlight or a cross. You have some basic meds, and a single fireaxe between the three of you. You may be knowledgable about religious affairs depending on your backstory. You all start in the same, working car.
Skills:
Each applicant will have 130 skill points to invest in. Skillrolls will be used throughout the event, so investing into your skills smartly is a good idea.
Only 4 skills will be relevant in this event.
We will be using the WN Base system for skills, so the maximum investment in each skill is 50.
Guns will determine your accuracy using a firearm.
Speed will determine your abilty to dodge and your turn in the turn order during S2RP encounters
Medicine will determine your ability to heal others. You will start with a medkit if this is your highest skill (also counts if it draws for highest with another skill)
Melee will determine your offensive abilities using a melee weapon/your fists, as well as your ability to parry and block enemy attacks.
