Okay, seems like the current event has run out of steam from what I have seen and I honestly don't know or see what the objective now could be. The rot is basically gone, stuff is repaired, and people are just sitting around most of the time. I know V3 is coming soon so I would personally like it if we went back to the main map until then so we can do things that we were going to do there but can't now given we are in a different map. Unless there is something big coming for the end of the event, and not in a month, we should end it. The event was decent and certainly better than the last one, but at this point it feels like beating a dead horse. The only thing that feels like there is something going on is little, very little, rebel stuff and then whatever miscellaneous things the SRI and other closed off factions are doing, and even those are very far and few.

For me personally I just don't want to be planning for things to come and then it turns out the event is just going to end when v3 is out. Or we end months later and only have a little bit of time before v3.

who said this map was an event + nobody wants to go back to c24 it was a horrible map

I mean, this was supposed to be an event no? And if it is then someone needs to confirm that this is the new map we are using.

Sir, a second nuke has hit the server narrative

I dont know what's worse. The fact this is the second nuke they've dropped on I24.

Or the fact it was declared safe and harmless 30 minutes after detonation. Like I dont want this to be a big deal cause I really dont want another fallout Arc...but at the same time, why drop a nuke big enough to rock the citadels shit only to then...say it avoided the city entirely?

Probbably detonated in the sky

It does kinda make sense they'd call it safe quickly. Like Acheif said, it's most likely an airburst rather than a groundburst, considering they still cause shockwaves but minimum (to no) radiation at all (Tsar Bomba test as an example)

I will say this since I was a participant of the Operation Firefall expo, it wasn't a nuke that was dropped or detonated. More specifically it was an overloading and subsequent meltdown of an old nuclear reactor that was occupied by The Rot.

I can somewhat agree that that Radiation Effects should be expected though, maybe not to the point that we push ourselves into a Metro Arc again, but at least some effects should be made present. The nuclear plant was not within the immediate radius of either i24 of C24 but its still within a decently close proximity.

Also to add on, not in the hostile way that I was before, nuclear reactors don't explode like nukes. They either do pressure explosions or gas explosions. Since there is never enough material and even then the fuel is not arranged in such a way that it would cause a chain reaction that causes it to explode. But nuclear reactors can explode if there is too much pressure or if hydrogen builds up and is ignited, this is because the cladding used for fuel rods has a reaction with steam which produces hydrogen gas (steam bubbles can form when stuff is not going right in the pressure vessel). Also, a bomb dropped into the reactor would not cause it to blow up like a nuke either, I feel like no one should have to say that...

It would have been cool and logical though if instead the reactor melted down and the molten corium hit the water below (given that it is in the sewers) and instead creates a steam explosion throughout the tunnels (would not really work because not all the water is hit at the same time but it makes a lot more sense then doing nuke=reactor).

Basically think of it as this. Your car does not just up and explode right? So think of a nuclear reactor as that, sure the reactor and a car can break and things can still kill you, but it won't just explode like a bomb. Now think of someone sealing up gas in a tank and throwing a match in, like a nuke it requires it to be arranged in such a way that it does a sudden release of energy (nuclear bombs need to be very fast in order to turn the area around it into plasma so it goes what is called prompt critical, this can also happen in reactors but the fuel is not arranged right in order to explode, were basically most of the neutrons if not all of them are hitting each atom of bomb-grade material inside which itself is specially arranged so little to no neutrons escape).

(Can you see that this is a field I have looked at and want to go into)?

This Quora post is a pretty good summery, still should look up stuff on your own to get a full grasp and fact check though.

This was the agreed fallout
Hiroshima-sized nuke SURFACE detonation

The reason why the nuclear meltdown resulted in an explosion rather than radiation seeping into everywhere was due to the balancing issues and a probable metro arc again. It is not my intention to change arc or lore months before V3. I understand it's not realistic but that was the only outcome everyone agreed with.

It would be correct to assume that we could've just done a regular power plant of sorts or something to a similar degree, there was quite a lot of leniency on what the limit was and I decided to go for high limit.

I'm not here to conform to the players who are frustrated with the event, no one is ever happy in willard, people are valid for their opinions on a situation. What happened has happened, this is an event you will forget even happened in a week.

Nobody will forget Some of them might. But the fact you think we will is sad. Your players remember. We feel your actions.

We play this server fucking daily, I understand if you yourself are tired of it, but alot of other people still enjoy the server, Ya'll railroading us toward V3 is great and all. But I wonder how many people actually want it.

I Hope that it doesn't shoot us in the foot.
