Can we make the Hazmat suit mean something? Work?

The hazmat suit is one of the most useless items so far, it's purely cosmetic and there is no reason to have it or even mug a CWU worker for it.

The hazmat suit could work like gasmasks where you can equip a filter and use it, but given the fact the hazmat suit is insulated and protects the individual far more than a normal mask, it could provide a better protection agaisn't spore buildup, just a little nothing too insane.
The reason why this isn't too much of an OP alternative is due to the risk of adquiring one, you need to mug a CWU worker wich is not very easy considering they don't get to close to the slums.
It's not easy to come around one of these suits and that should mean something as opposed to "hey cool comestic!" It should be a good risk to take where you now will be far more protected from spores, plus wearing the hazmat suit doesn't allow you to wear armor wich makes it even more useless.

cwu hazmat workers when i pour acid on their bodies and watch as they helplessly burn to death (their hazmat suits have 0 radiation protection)

might as well start giving all of the hazmat workers the HEV suit

I agree, maybe make the hazmat suit resistant to spores or something i dunno, or at least make them wear gasmasks.

No... Why.
It defeats the entire purpose if I have to wear a gasmask anyways. As of now the hazmat provides no real value other than cosmetic.

-looks kinda cool
-can conceal your identity completely
-can bypass you as a cwu worker

-doesn't allow you to wear armor
-does not protect from spores
-only a cosmetic
-the risk to obtain does not meet the return
-doesn't allow you to pass through yellow gates
-no armor

When it should be something more like:

-conceals identity
-provides better quality air and resistance to spores
-maybe provides some low protection to physical trauma
- cna bypass you as a cwu worker allowing for covert operations
-allows you to pass through yellow gates to get around checkpoints or through blocked off areas
.

-it's hard to come by and mugging it won't be easy.
-it doesn't allow higher tier armors to be worn under it
-you stick out like a sore thumb in some places

-doesn't allow you to pass through yellow gates
-no armor
Yellow gates are broken period. No CWU can get past them, pretty sure.

As for Armor, you can undress, put the suit on, then move your clothes back on your person, including armor and bags. Probably an exploit of some kind, but it's possible, and gives bonus slots/armor points.

I don't agree with this. The hazmat suit itself doesn't have any actual technology on it that allows you to move through the barriers. Unlike the CP suit which has active technology within it to allow you to move through.

The CWU barrirer should register to an active CWU card on that person, since realistically speaking if you were to find someone wearing a hazmat suit outside of proper reasoning, you can just deduce the fact that they arent one of the CWU players

-no armor
As for the armor you can just take everything off and then wear the suit and then begin to put on various things onto your person. During an OSF outland deployment I had a hazmat suit and tier two kevlar, I just wore the suit and then the kevlar and it gave me the armor with no issue

-does not protect from spores
This too is another issue, I can't fathom the fact that we need to wear a gas mask under the suit in order for it to protect us, by default the suit should protect us from the spores

Hazmat should offer protection against spores at the cost of it taking up your armor slot. This is simple.
The point of spores is to avoid people from being down in the sewers for long. Hazmat should NOT replace armor, as the current problem is that there is no real reason to get a hazmat, and people would prefer just to have armor and use a gas mask instead.

If you make a hazmat not let you use armor, then people will just use a gas mask and a high-quality filter.
Please don't comment on rebel issues if you've never played rebel

This isn't an issue. If you have a filter and a hazmat on, you may activate said filter.

Declined

Moving this to declined since its been in the backlog for too long, if it hasn't been picked up by now then we're likely not able to prioritize it. Feel Free to re-suggest it in the future!
