Somewhere in the distance, an old, strong voice wails across Indigent.
"WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE! CLASS WAR HAS NOT DIED, IT HAS EVOLVED!"
"WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE! CLASS WAR HAS NOT DIED, IT HAS EVOLVED!"
| REAL NAME: Igor Matokovich OFFICIAL NAME: Hugh Mattock ALIAS: товарищ C . I . D: 17133 GENDER: Male AGE: 65 D.O.B: 20/8/1954 NATIONALITY: RUSSIAN BIRTHPLACE: Kremlyovka, Moscow. CURRENT LOCATION: City 24 EDUCATION: Kandidat Nauk, Incomplete Medical Doctorate OCCUPATION: People's Doctor, Anti-Citizen Researcher SOCIAL CREDIT: 0 RANK: MISCOUNT | Day-To-Day Appearance: Hugh is typically seen in a bullet-proof vest bearing medical insignias. He is also occasionally sighted in a C24 CMRU Standard-Issue HAZMAT suit Hair: Greying and frayed. Back of his hair is matted from the constant rubbing against mask straps Physique: Poor physical conditioning for somebody on the run, compounded by his heart transplant Identifying Features: After torture by civil protection, Hugh is missing the nail and nail bed of his right middle finger. He also has a red star tattooed onto his right shoulder. |

Socialistic Ideals Igor believes at his core that the collective power of the oppressed masses can overwhelm even the most motivated of exploiters. He is ruthlessly charitable with both his knowledge and resources, and sympathetic to almost any trampled and dejected individual. His opinion of punitive justice is one of disgust, and as such is ideologically opposite of many of the loyalist bloc. |
Intellectual Prowess Igor is innately gifted at the scientific arts, having produced functional prosthetic limbs during his time in the C.M.R.U alongside publishing multiple manuals on the control of Xenian Fungus and the genetic engineering of food sources for mass populations. He now seeks to utilise this prowess for the direct benefit of so-called Anti-Citizen organisations. His capability extends beyond pure theory to the realm of engineering and implementing biomedical solutions. |
Dogmatic Igor's socialistic motivations can cause significant friction with groups he seeks to work with. Those who are percieved by him to be taking advantage of those in a less fortunate position, or motivated only by the desire to profit from them, will usually be cut off from his assistance. This has caused issues with him integrating into insurgent cells in the past, as he is unwilling to compromise his ideals, even for a greater goal. |
Poor Physical Conditioning Igor is very weak. He cannot sprint for extended periods, and is especially prone to bruising and muscle sprains, he is poorly equipped to fight with physical weapons and can typically handle at most a submachine gun or sidearm. His heart has been transplanted, forcing him to regularly self-diagnose and treat issues relating to the transplanted organ. |

What did they do to you? The just rewards of trying to assist people without the oversight of the fascist. Tooke very precaution, some exceeding that which I used, and still you were picked apart by the very same you helped. A more jaded man than I would take it as a life lesson, that just because someone needs help doesn't mean they deserve it. I miss all of you, maybe one day I'll start my own 'Free Clinic' out of the reach of those masked goons. |
Imagining the horrors and torture that Walker, Maesroe and the Combine put you through make me sick to my stomach. What's worse, I left you in a state that was far worse than I met you in. The saccharine mask you don now is convincing to those above you, but the cost is was bought at was far too steep. I've seen you in moments you believed were private, and was too much of a coward to comfort you. I hope they're brought to justice. |
Without your guidance in the desert, the N.R.A.U wouldn't have sabotaged the pipeline. I don't think you intended to help their aims, but the fact you did is not lost on me. I hope that one day you realise that the life of willing servant of those who'd have you hung at the tip of a hat is no life at all. |
Spineless, like I was, but even I was trying to work against the Combine's interests behind their back. There are too many who don't put in even that paltry effort. Too numerous and worthless to count, yet each as complicit in the gradual decline of humanity into the abyss. The contempt I hold for you is on par with the fascist themselves. You are the edifice of their control, the lever with which they justify continued brutalisation. The "human" face on the alien empire. I hope you all die. Each and every one. And if I ever get a chance, I'll make sure to help that become realised properly. |
Albert Barron - One of my favourite patients. Regularly courteous, excellent conversation, has many funny things to tell me! He is also part of the Dashing Debeakers, which immediately raises my opinion of him. He's a good friend - It's been months since I last saw you. Where have you gone? I hope that wherever you did go, you're safe. Maybe you put that plan we were always talking about into action.
Chris Clark - You are a capitalist of the worst kind. Running around the streets of Triumph, demanding people buy your goods, spreading false rumors, always looking for the next person to rat-out for your social credit points.
'Spades' - It's not often that I come across another socialist. Even if you don't like to call yourself it, your spirit embodies one. Creating a clinic that sees those who the CMU will not is genius, and is what City 24 sorely lacked. For a fellow comrade, I will offer all of the assistance I can. - We've got some things in the works. I hope I can genuinely do some good. You've been my closest comrade and lifesaver many times now. - Where are you? So many lost comrades.
Randy Cole - You offered me bandages when I was helping someone who had suffered severe injuries from a fascist's stun stick, yet you wear all of the accolades of a loyalist traitor. What are you, Mister Cole? - In a very bizarre twist of fate, you are now under my wing in the CMRU. You are too willing to turn away injured underclass, and I'm not sure I can completely trust you not to rat me out to Walker or Maesroe when I do.
'Rome' - "I've never met a Vortigaunt with such an excellent grip of the english dialect. Infact, he speaks it better than I do, haha! He is a comrade of Spades, and a comrade of Spades is a comrade of mine. - He has since grown into one of my closest comrades.
Lea Lilou - Are you dead?
'Charlie Lad' - You're a mystery. I'm not sure how you know my name? My operational security is indeed lacking if you were able to track me down so effortlessly. But the things we've discussed.. They tear me in two directions. The Free Clinic, or something even greater? - Where are you? I guess I need to spend more time in Indigent.. I hope you don't think I've forgotten you. I haven't.
'Basar' - One of my first encounters with a Vortigaunt in City 24 was also one of the most enlightening, I have no doubt of that. Thank you for putting me on the path to the Red Fist. I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to walk it like you seem to so effortlessly. Unity and Solidarity, my vortal comrade. - Another face I've lost to entering the CMU. Sometimes I consider if my position is worth the friends I no longer see. - I met you again. I'm so sorry for what they did to you.
Grant Pressman - Who? He what? Shame he didn't win.
'Boonie' / Gro'Ha - Despite what some people say about vortigaunts, you've shown wisdom that exceeds the humans I interact with on a daily basis. Your counsel has been instrumental in the staging and evaluation of multiple studies. If you're not already in the research department, you should be! I just hope you don't genuinely believe the hogwash they force you to subscribe to in order to become a yellow-band.
'Connor' - You're very short with your words, but a proven comrade nonetheless. I get the feeling that my presence offends you somehow. I hope to make up for it, and to make up for all that you have done for me so far, friend. - You've tried to put me in a position that is dangerous. I appreciate your offer, and all you've done, but I wish you'd think a little harder about potential operations before you suggest them.
'Red' - I still cannot believe what has happened. It won't be the last time either. It's time to get serious about laying the foundation of a people's revolution, and such things require sacrifice. I hope it will not be in vain. - You owe me? I owe you. We must find a way to freely communicate which does not imperil my cover.
'Pathfinder' - I try not to hold your suspicion against you, Comrade Big Gun, but you touched a nerve that is rarely tickled by any of my other brothers and sisters in arms. I sincerely hope I do not give you any justification for your skepticism. - Your arrival at Miss Berrycloth's funeral however was much appreciated.. - You have repeatedly demonstrated a distaste of the population that I find objectionable. I cannot bring myself to support you, despite the good you've shown. Still, your arming of the proletariat is invaluable. -
The woman he lead underground/ Ava Walker - What have I done? We weren't even sure she was a loyalist.. Боже, храни меня.. - I am certain I did the right thing.. I had to have.
Misha Fedorov - You're a good friend to me. Thank you for your kindness, now and in the past. - You dumb lovable idiot, you smashed a scanner? Made the pigs real panicky. Hope you got out, comrade..
'Hearts' - You must steel yourself, comrade. The road to a people's revolution is long, difficult and requires many sacrifices. Do not allow doubt to cloud your mind when there are so many lives on the line. - Where are you?
'Rice' - Handy, generous, a wonderful asset. I only hope I can get to know you better, comrade! I have only talked to you in passing, so far. - I see you now and then. I wonder if you even remember me. - I saw them kill you and I could do nothing to stop it. I am sorry. So many comrades that I have failed.
'Grad' - There is more to you.. I'm sure of it. I'll have to find you when you're more alone, see if we can't have a proper chat. I have a feeling we have more that we agree upon than you think. - You're volatile. Very volatile. And a little bit bigoted. But I try to look past that when there is a literal fascist alien empire pressing on us both. You try to fight for good things. - I've heard you died. Which is very saddening.
Jeremy Ortega - I have only seen you in Triumph, yet you took me into your home while the fascists were preparing their sweep.. The things we talked about, the aid you offered me.. It almost makes up for the fact that you are planning to join them, comrade.. Almost. Part of me hopes that your enlistment is denied, so that a good person like you won't be ruined. - You went in. Dragged off the streets and that was that. Sometimes I wonder if the people patrolling the streets killing and maiming innocent people are now one of you.. It is not a thought I like. I could have saved you. From the person you will eventually become.. - Where are you? What are you doing now? Do you even remember me?
Kurt Walker - I know what you are. I cannot show it, for you are a loyalist and I am a commoner, but if I could? You would get the wall, нацист - Dead now, hopefully
Amelia Hearth - I saw what you did for that individual who came in with injuries consistent with beating. You are a good person, I doubt I will have to supervise you too closely - You did not deserve your fate, torn apart by hungry insects. Then again, the alternatives weren't much better.
Kura'Nar - You've become a solid member of the team. Like your kin, I trust most vortigaunts more than I trust humans, but that trust is tempered with my own self-preservation in mind. I must do what I can from my position to keep you and those like you comfortable here.
'Chaa'Tii / CHAPPY' - Another Vortal Comrade.. This one has been cut off from what makes him whole. The loyalist pizza given to me by Hox was the least I could do.. I hope you're ready for some extra monetary donations, Chappy. You need the money more than I do. What they've done to you sickens me to my core. - Your tether has been restored and with it new life has been breathed into you. You are like an entirely different person. - Where are you, Chappie?
'Dev' - You've looked out for me. I'm looking for a way to repay the favor. Is very big on the 'God' thing, I try to humor him if only to be a good friend. - Another one, missing to time. - Or NOT!? Fuck. There's so much to tell you. Don't you dare 'Mister Mattock' me again, Paladin. - I now fear he believes me lost to the cause. As I ascend in station the precautions I must take become increasingly nebulous and difficult to decipher, is our comraderie lost in the minutiae of infiltration? It is a price we both knew was possible.
'Ascensionist' - Your work will bring suffering to all of your kin. You truly believe I am assisting you in this matter, and I thank my lucky stars that I'm not connected to the vortessence, else you'd read me like a book. Synthetic vortigaunts are something I can not allow to happen. I can't condone the further integration of your species into the Combine war machine
'Winnie' - I do not doubt that you got that yellow armband through means that I would not entirely approve of.. But you are my friend still. You have helped me treat that old man. - I heard you went into the Auxiliaries. Hope that they aren't getting another loyal drone.
Robert Smith - Why do I keep treating you, old timer? You really need to stop hurting yourself.. - I miss seeing you around. Guess I took that for granted.
'Clayton' - What piece of human garbage goes to tell Civil Protection that somebody is daring to assist an old man while waiting in the lobby of the CMU for actual assistance? You must hope I never find who you are, Clayton. Would not be pretty.. - ...I met clayton more recently..
Daniel Jelczuk - A strong, principled worker with righteous hatred towards the Combine. Alas, he's been victimised by both the Combine themselves and according to one, old-world lies about semitic people. In the words of a very wise man;
"Anti-Semitism means spreading enmity towards the Jews. When the accursed tsarist monarchy was living its last days it tried to incite ignorant workers and peasants against the Jews. The tsarist police, in alliance with the landowners and the capitalists, organised pogroms against the Jews. The landowners and capitalists tried to divert the hatred of the workers and peasants who were tortured by want against the Jews. In other countries, too, we often see the capitalists fomenting hatred against the Jews in order to blind the workers, to divert their attention from the real enemy of the working people, capital. Hatred towards the Jews persists only in those countries where slavery to the landowners and capitalists has created abysmal ignorance among the workers and peasants. Only the most ignorant and downtrodden people can believe the lies and slander that are spread about the Jews. This is a survival of ancient feudal times, when the priests burned heretics at the stake, when the peasants lived in slavery, and when the people were crushed and inarticulate. This ancient, feudal ignorance is passing away; the eyes of the people are being opened.
It is not the Jews who are the enemies of the working people. The enemies of the workers are the capitalists of all countries. Among the Jews there are working people, and they form the majority. They are our brothers, who, like us, are oppressed by capital; they are our comrades in the struggle for socialism."
I don't know if my workers were telling the truth, which is why I wouldn't have fired you without solid proof. Until the fascist forced my hand and threatened my shopfront, you were simply another victim of your material conditions. -
Can I still call you a victim, now that you've turned that anger outwards? I don't doubt you want to avenge your parents, I would too, but I'm scared that that anger will manifest far beyond the targets of your vendetta. From avenger to menace, I've seen it all too often in my line of work -
Goro Wamuro - You're an intern in the CMU but you have no medical experience. A psychologist yet I'm fairly sure your own psychological state is in disrepair.. You're extremely entertaining, comrade. I'm going to try my best to keep you from getting fired but I can't make any promises, I'm only an intern myself. - Please atleast try to attend surgeries on time.. It's a little annoying covering for you when people are injured! - Dead, or gone, or simply entertaining his own purposes. I don't think about him often, now.
Deyan Markovich - I almost feel bad undoing the work of that sniper. Why do you fight for the fascist? It is so difficult to justify my work when I meet people directly responsible for killing my comrades. You are nice. Just deluded if you think what you're doing is helping people.
John Simon Maynard - A competent colleague. A little too loyale to the regime for my liking, atleast from what I can gather. Maybe he's on the same track as me. I shouldn't be so hasty to judge - I think he died. I don't know why.
Menta - He's a good intern, but he's completely brainwashed by the OSF's propoganda about freedom fighters. He once suggested we should push glass into the wounds of an injured revolutionary. I need to keep a very close eye on him and try to deprogram some of that sadism out of him. - Long dead and buried, and the world is probably better for it. We have too many people willing to inflict harm on the innocent already.
El Guerrero - District 9. The Alibi. Ron Goodfella. El Guerrero. Opportunities and comrades smearing past into an indistinguishable melancholic blur. I know I liked you. I definitely know that...
Ton' - One of my closest confidantes and friends. Also a very valuable asset to the clinic. You just need to stop bringing attention to yourself, you're useless to anyone if you're getting beaten to a pulp on principle, no matter how noble that principle may be
Slung - Another close vortal comrade. You work in the CMRU too? We could make a whole 'nother free clinic at this rate..
Clark Adams - Another long-lost comrade. You took a risk coming to the CMRU, but im glad i could help you when you needed it. I wish I could do more in the state I'm in. - Those гребаные свиньи! I'm going to make them regret what they did to you, comrade. Those fucking fascists...
Yann Stephan - Never thought I'd encounter someone who is better at my job than me, but here he is, in the flesh. Makes me feel like a kindergartener with crayons when I take a peek at some of the materials he's produced. Try not to be a meat-shield again, it's really bad for your health.
'Babel' - Another vortigaunt, and this one I instinctually know I can trust. You are wary not to display any signs of discontent with 'our benefactors', and indeed you act like a model slave. Yet you are not. Your spirit sings for freedom. If only we had met back when I was Tovarisch, I may have been able to grant you it.. - When we go together onto the breach, I entrust you will show your true strength.
Felix Poelking - I wish I could be less guarded around you, Felix. I know our aims align. But I also know that you are indiscrete and vulnerable to the tides of your own emotions. I have seen them engulf you and shroud your reasoning, and I cannot risk exposure with somebody who will instinctually react, and speak before thinking. I admire you. Your spirit is untempered by fear for your own life, with a strong moral compass.
Yngraham Winter - I cannot tell whether our coded conversations have a double meaning, or whether you truly are just a nostalgic old man, like I. Either way, I find a strange sense of admiration whenever I walk in to find you manning the clinic, Winter. I see myself in you, in so many ways. I hope I'm not wrong.
Sam W. Bridge - I was reckless in revealing my hand to you. I am very lucky to have said hand reciprocated by a true, fellow comrade. What I can manage with you by my side in the department still boggles the mind. Perhaps the Free Clinic isn't truly dead, just yet.
Raymond Saint Albert - You enjoy searching people and lecturing them, each and every shift You enjoy being overlord of people who have no other choice but to work for you. Petty tyrants like you will get what is coming to them. Hopefully it's painful, and hopefully you suffer. - Was I a little bit petty about you taking my plastic garbage? maybe. Mostly annoyed at you looking down your nose at the slummers your cushy little position relies on the subjugation of. I'd still spit on you if i could. Same for anyone who genuinely bites down into the load of horse manure the fascist tell you about a strong union. - I see you less and less. Probably for the better..
Aleksander Yurievich - You act like a model citizen of the Combine. That is not a good thing. - I find your contempt for me amusing. Have you clued in to the secret hatred those around you, including myself, hold for you, 'Comrade Yurievich'? The only instance I've seen of your sham cult of personality work are when the most dedicated scumsuckers come crawling in the hopes of inhaling your fumes. Disgusting leech.
'Mr. Weaver' - You're probably the only person from the CWU I can understand. That food is now in the Indigent fridge. The fires of change are growing. Thank you for the kindling, comrade. - I knew there was more to you than met the eye. Alaska changed you for the better. - We allowed you to feel too safe in the slums. I'm sorry for what they did to you, comrade.
Officer Eight Fingers & Biogel. (VICTOR-8 and PATROL-11.) - Why didn't you promise? And don't tell me it's because of your injury. You got dangerously close to the truth there, friend. Please, stay away. It's for your own good as well as mine. And please. *actually be a human.* Show that your words aren't meaningless. I'll be watching.
Marcus Oswald - Another I have yet to find any reason to trust. He is met with the same pleasant Hugh as the rest of them. Keeping him placid, fat and fed on bribes of promotions and recognition. I'm open to being proven wrong, but I can smell a bootlicker.
John Walker - You display a burning contempt for the less fortunate that is so extreme and vitriolic that it makes me despise you. You are the picture of everything wrong with collaborators and the fascist in general. - You've shown kindness to me despite this. - You've treated my wounds and shielded me from Monika. It's hard to hate you purely on ideological reasons.. - Your spiral into mental instability is worrying everybody. Even for somebody who looks down their nose at the workers who enable your excess, I am concerned for your wellbeing. There is more to life than Maesroe's approval, trust me. - Ever since I walked in on that argument, I realised I made a mistake in ever believing you could be redeemed Walker. - You will die a painful death, and I will ensure it; Time and again it is revealed that my greatest shortcoming is my capacity to believe in people who are clearly beyond saving.
Lysa - Watch your back, lady. I do not have any interest on going easy on you just because you are a woman, and that's doubly true now that you've shown your true colours. Telling the civil protection I was seditious, right infront of me? Some nerve. I certainly hope you're never alone in Indigent, you may find a large piece of glass shoved between your shoulderblades.
Ophelie Latourelle - I can sense your sympathies with the working masses, it is not difficult. And that means those above us can sense it too. Be careful.
Callum Crown - Unapologetic loyalist, ruthless capitalist, feckless disciplinarian. I'm just glad you didn't end up a CP. - Dead now, thank god.
Olivier Fournier - You've suffered so much, for no good reason. I hope life is a little easier now that all national sentiments are banned. Hopefully we can collectively move on from this mass hysteria around french people (Perhaps, we could even focus on the *real* threat at hand..)
AUXILIARY 59 / LYSA 2.0 - I can tell you're going to be the reason my cover gets fucked. You're from an era when I was way less clued in to how to act as a rogue. I think you think I'm rehabilitated, and I'm gonna try and not fuck that perception up. I'd rather have you as a useful asset than a liability, Lysa. Maybe I can even show you why God is never letting you past the pearly gates unless you change. - I haven't heard from her in months.. Maybe she got relocated. Dodged a bullet there.
HELIX-51 - I cannot ignore that you betrayed our species. That your hatred has turned you into a fascist. I observe your inner self every time you strip off that uniform and what I see is an angry petulant boy given a gun and free license to kill without consequence. Yet, I have also observed what remains of your humanity in other ways. I cannot bring myself to hate you, not like I do with the rest of your enforcers. Your money has gone directly towards undoing your evils, which I think is fitting.
Harriet Miller - There's a lot more work yet to be done before you hang up your hat, Harry. Any friend of His is a friend of mine. | | | |
Arthur Eastgate - How far will we get? Who knows. We cannot afford not to try. What you have told me will be burned into my waking thoughts for some time to come; what happened in Alaska...
Warren Goodwin - You are an old friend, but I'm starting to worry you've actually bought in to their lies.. You were never particularly anti-civil, but some comments I've heard go beyond maintaining cover. I hope I can talk to you about this without risking my own skin. - Thank god I observed you from afar. How deep have they infiltrated into your mind? Is this dogma, self preservation, indoctrination? What...
William Dubois - I am sorry I couldn't save you. I'm a coward for standing there and watching you on that platform, surrounded by those pigs, after seeing the lengths you were willing to go to firsthand. There is one thing I can promise you though. You'll be avenged. She won't get away with this, Will.
Ted Kowacks - A competent doctor, light-hearted, not evil like some collaborators. Atleast, I haven't seen him display himself as evil. He's not a bootlicker, either. I like him - I hope they don't crush his spirit in my absence. Nuture that seed of rebellion.
Elias Siemens - I'm not sure if you remember meeting me as Tovarisch. Back in Indigent. Back when you and Spades were practically chatting on the daily and you never even realised. You gave me the supplies I needed to treat those being beaten. I hope that you haven't changed since then. - And I suppose we'll never find out.
Percival Thatcher - Dogmatic loyalist, nothing person. One of the endless hordes walking to their own extinction. Unless..?
Karl Haussen - You carry the air of a bureacratic pencil pusher, one so hollow of characer or thought that if you shook them, they'd rattle. Yet, I've seen otherwise. Whether you're trying to lull me into a false sense of security or not is yet to be seen but in the meantime I'll have my eye out for you. Part of building a web of intrigue is that you never know which thread of gossamer plucked and tested will send the whole thing unweaving itself.
Jenifer Maesroe - Why are you complicit in a system that will kill innocent people who fall below a certain SC? You're nice, but its hard to imagine you're a rogue loyalist.. - Why are you so slow to trust me? Are you clued in to something? I need to double-check my cover... - You're trying your hardest, but I'm still baffled by your thought proccess. Do you genuinely believe what's happening here is right or moral? - Another revealed by their actions. A slower tell than most, but a tell nonetheless.
Aleksandr Yurievich - A model citizen of the Combine. That's not a good thing, particularly when that citizen's compliance places me under the prying eyes of the captain of the precinct. Aleksandr's loyalty to our overlords saw my freedom hanging by a thread. The sight of Felix writhing under his threats still haunts me. His obedience to the Combine does not distinguish between justice and fear, because for him there is none. Aleksandr, you're a product of the system that we must overthrow. Every time we cross paths, you remind me of the enemy we face: steadfast, ruthless, unyielding.
Heinrich Tischer - Proud of your heritage, are you? Pig. You will get what is coming to you, just like your Grandpa Mengele got... Were you only kidding? The way you've acted recently makes it hard to believe you are actually a nazi. I am not sure if I should believe my instincts or my mind. Thanks for the vodka. - You've brought me aside and told me you were only kidding.. Was I jumping to conclusions? This entire situation is so confusing now. - You seem intent on convincing me that our initial meeting was a blip. And I'm starting to believe you. - Conniving, climbing lapdog of an empire that would just as soon scoop your organs and make you into a husk on stilts as they would have you do their bidding. Whatever fate you find on the end of your leash is the one you most deserve, fascist.
Anayah Wilkinson - You seem to be a good person, which prompts how you got this far in the CCA. They're targeting you now, maybe they realised you're an anomaly? Keep a record. - You were too good for them.
Minister Orwell - You are completely incompetent. You also promoted me to tier four without so much as an application because I saved Anayah. I did it because I am a Doctor, not for you. Well done on bringing an almost explicit revolutionary into the outer party.
Laurentius Heartwick - You are completely incompetent, also. Mentally unstable and a locus of the oppression that you force upon the civic populace on a regular basis. The only saving grace is that you're barely ever around now, so I don't have to think about you that much
Bernard Mulligan - You got shot? Good. I assume you're a vegetable pissing out of a tube and in constant pain, or atleast, hope so.
Ron Goodfella - The others bought into your bullshit, but I didn't. You were an information gatherer who utilised charisma and materialistic goods to tempt good-hearted revolutionaries to reactionary behavior. I have seen the exact same types in the USSR. I didn't attend your funeral.
Josiah Turner - An ancient and shrivelled vessel that should have expired long ago. Brain like swiss-cheese, synapses burning away into ever-larger, purulent voids. Your body is rotting to match the state of your mind, and I think you realise that, deep down. Why else would you be so needlessly angry?
Hank Beauregarde - I can see the faded vestige of humanity in you, a visible absence. I wonder what else they'll take from you before it's done. Pleasure as always, Consul.
Cathleen Lockhart - I can't help but feel like I've failed you. In any other scenario I'd have cheered on your death as one of many traitors to our species, but when it's a death I was tasked with averting, the news of your passing hits me like an iron punch to the gut. Goodbye Miss Lockhart. I forgive you for your decision.
OZYMANDIAS - A hidden link. An unspoken alliance. An ancient and venerable figure shrouded by the poem every child knows, the words every ruler dreads; awaiting the moment where all is revealed. The terminal locus.

THE COMBINE/THE FASCIST.
"The Combine is Capital embodied. They concentrate wealth and resources for the few fat slugs in far-away ivory towers while those who produce those resources are made into cattle. Disenfranchised from their labor and reliant on wage-slavery now more than ever before. It embodies everything contemptible about the human condition.
CIVIL PROTECTION -
"Pigs. Fascist pigs. They might have been people once, but the moment they decided to take that stun-baton, they agreed to be the ones beating dissidents, executing their fellow man for thinking incorrectly, killing people to protect the private property of loyalists. If I ever get the chance, I'll murder them. But my job as a rogue collaborator demands I treat them like humans. It is a cruel twist that the people who deserve help the least get it first.
COMBINE CIVIL ADMINISTRATION
"Don't think that just because they sit behind their mahogany desks and push pencils that they're any better. They are the architects of the brutal plan that those pigs enact. If anything they're more culpable, not less."
CIVIL WORKER'S UNION
"Whether they like it or not, the worker is completely disenfranchised from their labor. They line you up like cattle, rifle through your pockets, then make you brew amnestics-laced lemonade or construct weapons for the Combine death machine.
CIVIL MEDICAL UNION -
An organization I have seen inside and out. My only valuable conclusion? It serves as another tendril of control. The fascist monopolise medical aid from those they beat, and from those deemed 'undesirable.' It's not an anomaly that so many people are treated for 'falling down the stairs'. It's us denying you that monopoly.
CITIZENS/WORKING MEN
WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT YOUR CHAINS!
LOYALISTS/COLLABORATORS/ROGUE COLLABORATORS
You trade your fellow man to the fascist for what? A pat on the head like a dog? You will be put down alongside your masters, little pups. Of course.. there are those who are clever enough to poison the hive from the inside. I am trying just such a thing myself.
REBELS
You do a job that I am too cowardly to do. I will offer whatever aid I can, even my life if need be. I respect your kind highly, anybody worth saving does. I have a feeling I'm going to die to your hands, and I understand why. I just hope that the information I gather in the meantime can be of some use to the people's revolution
VORTIGAUNTS
A species so unlike humanity that it's hard to grasp at first. From what I've gathered though, they live and communicate in perfect communal harmony. It is a state of solidarity I could only dream of existing amongst Humans. Those who succumb to the xenophobic programming of the fascist show themselves.
