The roaring inferno which has consumed much of the slums has been the vehicle for Indigent-3's next milestone. Formerly dubbed "Devi's Tattoo Bar", it had barely made itself comfortable in its new position as "foreclosed abandoned warehouse" before reaching its next milestone as "burnt remains". Curiously, the grave behind it has not only persisted, but multiplied. A small makeshift cross, adorned with a polaroid picture and a note. It reads:

This memorial is dedicated to Joseph Carter, a valiant fighter, gifted craftsman and beloved friend. He lost his life in a valiant attempt to ensure the material supply of the ongoing resistance effort. No effort will be made here to justify his motives, his actions, or his methods. This writing is not concerned with contextualising the faults Joseph Carter had; the purpose of it and this memorial is to remember Joseph Carter as a trusting and trusted comrade in everyday life, and a loving and beloved friend through thick and thin.

The memorial is erected next to that for his friend Fabu as a testament to their combined struggle, their martyrdom, and their deep friendship, as the writer of these lines is sure Joseph would have preferred. Throughout the raging fires which have plagued the Condemned Zone, this little corner of Memorial Park has withstood, and will withstand, as a testament to these two brave fighters, who we thank first and foremost not for their dedication to their causes, but for the companionship they have given us. We hope the two of you will find well-earned peace together.

Sit Vobis Terra Levis -May the Earth rest easy on you.

In loving memory of Joseph Carter, Haywire, who lives on in our hearts and in our minds. Indigent Burns this day - but today's ashes leave the soil fertile for tomorrow.
