INTERREGNUM "The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world..."
Newcastle ICly leaves the city to deal with some sector-wide assignments, leaving the city behind and the City Administration throne vacant. A new temporary caretaker position of “City Arbitrator” is formalized to fill the vacancy while Newcastle is gone. For this event players may introduce a political character with a secret agenda to push for their political alignments favour.
If there are multiple candidates per party then they will undergo a primary to select their candidate by the 17th
The final list of candidates will be picked by the 18th of this month.
The candidates will then undergo a unbiased IC vote via the Security Council to pick The Arbitrator.

What is this?: A election for the Arbirator, a replacement for the Civil Administrator for at least two months.
Who can apply?: You are all allowed to apply for a City Administrator.
What is required?: Write up a event political character or apply with a in-game character, requires a minimum of t4+ for in-game characters. The character must be associated with a political party/affiliation. A secret agenda pushing your political party/affiliation is necessary. (You'll be asked about this in a PM if selected.
How do I apply?: Use the application format provided below.
This event does not have limited slots but there are additional conditions that must be met to arrive at the final election.
You must have a valid political party. You may apply regardless of if others from the same political party have applied. There will be internal party elections (primary) on the 17th to determine who is the best candidate ICly.
For external candidates: You are free to create your character and start campaigning the moment your application has been approved.
For internal candidates: You are free to start campaigning the moment your application has been approved. Do not campaign prior to approval.
Do not apply if you are already a core member of the CCA or a Faction Lead. Applications from these individuals will not be accepted!

Should my character be removed at any point and the Event Manager state so, it can't be appealed. The event cannot be used as an excuse to exercise personal vendettas OOCly against others. Breaking the rules or disrupting the event will result in being ejected from the series. All rules regarding fear RP should be respected. And yes to confirm, whoever gets The Arbitrator role, it effectively places you in the same role as the CA. You can use this to a great extent pushing in-game lore for the city and really shake up the scene if you so wish. Ever wanted to play CA? Now's your chance people!

- Enact several steps to ensure a closer relationship between citizens and factions such as e.g. enacting a business council
- Focusing on enabling better cross-communication between factions to enable wider collaborative efforts to enable safety measures in case a faction is in need of resources disposable of another faction
- Conservative measurements against radical movements that cause rebellious behaviour
- Enact a proposition to allow citizens to reach out to a faction representative, this will be needed to close the ever-growing radical extremists.
OOCly, what is your motivation for taking part in this political exercise:
Answer: Through this event, the goal from my view is to enable more communicative and strategic efforts between factions to enable essentially more creativity and unity. Currently, it feels like every faction is quite distant from each other hence my goal which will result in efficiency, optimisation and creativity along with better communication across all factions including a generally more active presence.

DSP is a small political party that was founded 2 years ago in City Thirty Six, ''The City of Industry'', by a Union Medical Doctor named Amélie Amsel. After the City Thirty Six's downfall into fighting and ruins DSP moved to the heart of the political life in City Twenty Four at the behest of Doctor Amélie Amsel.
Where she would see herself relocated as well.
DSP is unlike the other party runner ups for the Civil Administrator position. A small and unbeknownst to almost all.
DSP's recent moving to Geneva has isolated itself in a political landscape with no supporters.
And with no grandesque political beliefs and the colorful characters.
They have nothing but an comfort of the past, and a passionate leader to boot.

- Balance. Meaning I will be aiming with goals and beliefs in mind, but they can be altered and twisted as days go by and events happen. Perhaps she achieves in opening up City 24 and all around improving the quality of life. Access to return to society and support for those less fortunate. Maybe she will be in a perpetual power struggle with Security Council about her improvements. Or maybe an attempt on her life or some other horrific event makes her think more on what is best for the whole.
- Opening up the City in terms of allowing peaceful protests and opening up free-speech limitations. Sort of as an 'proof' or an experiment that for the UU to survive and the Combine to be in control, and make the most of humanity, the way forward is the tip-toeing of open palm and a clenched fist.
- Create an 'Expeditions' sort of thing for Union. Where arrested individuals and Anti-Citizens who've willingly turned themselves in can regain their citizenry trough labor by taking part in Expeditions led by Civil Workers Union to conduct efforts outside the City premises. ( Along with Civil Protection or OTA watching over them closely. ) Generally.. 'Do your part, and regain Citizenry.' rehabilitation program.
OOCly, what is your motivation for taking part in this political exercise: Willard is something I really want to get into more, in the terms of creating stories and events for people to really draw from and experience first hand. Creating lasting memories and inspiring more for Half Life 2 Universe Roleplay. I have some experience in playing and handling politics sort of RP. And getting this seriously a one time opportunity to do something interesting. I'll give my shot.
I felt like that the parties ( while amazingly created by Merlin and Immerseus ) need to be sort of counter-balanced by a more down to earth.. and some may call 'Boring' political party. Felt like It'd be a cool experiment trying to adapt and attempt to shape City 24 in a 'good' way then. These Neutral Evil ways. I mean I can't even imagine if a what one could objectively call a 'Good' Political party / Person put in charge would do for Rebel RP and what it would spark in general. Then having an evil person. And the inner roleplay in the CCA and, well the whole server.

You will be given temp T6 status on character creation and authorization to have escorts due to being Arbitrator candidates and thus needing full protection. (We don't want any of you getting killed before the election right?)
Further announcements will be made on this thread regarding when the election shall take place and how the election will take place.
The election will take place on the 30th of October at 8PM BST. (There will be a pre-poll on the day prior for council members that cannot attend which will be done through Discord- Inform me if you cannot attend.)
