Bug Invisible Item slots / heavy inventory malfunctions

• Bug: Items disappearing and appearing after server resets
• Description: Regarding how to re-make it, I'm not quite sure. I went on a scavenging run, and I noticed elements overlapping each other and that's when the trouble began, I noticed there were invisible items that occupied spaces, but I couldn't interact with, which then later appeared after server resets only. Relogging doesn't do anything. I will show examples:

On the first RESET (9AM, 31ST AUG):

After relogging to fix it, all my items went completely missing.

did lose somethings like my CID, which I asked @Badger to refund for me, after he refunded me, I went about my day just fine

1ST OF SEPTEMBER RESET INVENTORY INSTANCE:
Fast forward to today, I get on, and this is my inventory. Yes, that is my old CID.



The consistencies I find is that the chemicals and gas can returned somehow. I don't know why or what's happening.

• Errors/time: There's no errors, I think my character's corrupted in the database, or something. Relogging doesn't change anything, ONLY a server reset updates my inventory. Any item that was in the slots of the 'invisible items' seems to be overwritten, like how I lost my suitcase but gained the gascan the next day. This happened within the past 3 days, 1 day each.

Additional note: Any clothing items EQUIPPED were not affected, weapons and other items like filters disappeared, even if equipped.

I have an assumption that it has to do with client-server mismatch in the inventory system

These are ghost items, items that are in a slot in your inventory but do not show up for you. There's many fixes but the one I found the best and that works quite well is the one where you kill your character and respawn.

The reason these bugs happen is because you had a bag in your inventory or the most infamous item: A pack of cigarettes, there is a bug with the inventory system when you either: Pickup items [E], loot a trashbag, Shift+click a item into your inv. It will attempt to put the item into your inv, even if it is full and isntead of denying it it will see the empty cigarette pack or the ammo bag and think it's okay to put it but then the item is shoved ontop of other item slots. Then it will stay there overlapping and if you tab in again the other item will have been deleted off your inventory and the item overlapping is now impossible to drop or drag.

Fix:
Ask a admin to spawn a container, store all your gear inside, allow the admin to !slay you, when you respawn the phantom items will have spawned or been deleted fully off your inventory and you can come back to pick your gear up with a now fixed inventory.

What I opted to do before knowing this is just emptying my inventory before I log, and when the server resets the items show up in my inventory in small increments, it took about 4 days before getting everything back
