This isn't malware. It's a render exploit, similar to a crasher gif.
The entire purpose of the gif is to trip your anti virus. That is it.
It only works on Windows Defender users due to a false positive created by harmless javascript/vbscript code.
More tenable premium softwares (ex. Malwarebytes) find nothing wrong/malicious with the file, and that is no fault of the software.
It's impossible to have injectable code in a gif format anyway. The code embedded is non-functional and inert even outside of it's current format.
I encourage you to run the file through any tenable virus scanning software, or even scrub through the metadata yourself. You will find nothing descriptive of a true virus in any capacity.
