Hey there! Welcome to Justin's Art Collection, which is pretty much exact what it sounds like! A thread where I plan to share new Gmod art I make!

There'll be no particular schedule on when this art comes out, it'll be whenever I get a good idea for a scene. And you can contribute to that too if you really like! I'd love to hear new ideas, and constructive criticism on my works! I always want to hear what people think, good or bad, so I know what works and what I can improve!

This would be a pretty boring thread if I didn't already have some art pieces ready to go though, so how about I spoil you all with some free samples of other works I've made!

"We were hoping this would be a quick and easy get-away from Civil Protection. Turns out, they have a way of slipping into even the tightest spaces around the city."

Urban Extermination

Headcrabs, as dangerous as they are, are simple pests at best. But where there's a pest, there's an exterminator not too far behind.

Substation Sunset

Even Overwatch soldiers need a little rest from time to time, and what better way to do that than enjoying the end of a tiring day?

No Trespassing

"A long time ago this drainage system was maintained well by humans, both before and after the war. Now, no one goes through them at all, which makes them perfect for getting out of the city; unfortunately for us, there's a reason why no one goes through these canals anymore."
Liquidators.png
Liquidators

XRAY-6 hadn't been expecting the packs beyond the city borders to be this massive, not on their own. There wasn't any time to ponder that thought, however, as he had more dire matters to attend to all around him.
Drainage.png
Drainage

Martin, Ito and Elizabeth had been spending weeks preparing for the journey out of City Seventeen; food, water, guns, and a path to freedom. That path would start at the canals, a deceivingly easy start to a long winded journey.
Crew Access Only.png
Crew Access Only

The Habitat Renewal initiative, a simple but effective plan of sending Infestation Control, the Engineering Core and Overwatch into the Quarantine Zone to clear out the Xen fauna and flora growing there. Sadly, it wasn't as simple or effective as the Administration had hoped.
Railroad Crossing.png
Railroad Crossing

The journey out of the canals and into the industrial section of Seventeen was a trip from Hell and back for Martin and Ito, the result of cutting through a Hydra's territory. Luckily for them both, Ito knew of a Railroad station in the area, one they could use to get more gear, supplies, fire power...And friends.
Long Way Down.png
Long Way Down

Martin had already been back and forth through the wringer already with what he had encountered so far, but one look down the pit made it quite obvious to him it was a long way down to freedom. And he'd be fighting at every step of the journey.
Coexistence.png
Coexistence

There was something special to be seen about the incursion- no, the settlement- of Xen fauna and flora present around Martin. A disturbing beauty brought on by a divided coexistence.

Someone bust out the neon and synthwave, Civil Protection is on the move!

Unwelcome Guests

Engineering Core reported some blockages within the sewage line across the district, nothing too major. That is, until the workforce encountered the source of the blockage: an Antlion hive. The home owners weren't too far away.

Life might bite a little here and there under the Combine, but that doesn't mean we're not entirely without our personal comforts.

God I love the effort
Thank you! I try to pack all the littlest details into my scenes, and I've recently taken to doing full on scene builds as well like with Drainage and Substation Sunset!

You can do something i can't, this sucks 🤢
Believe me when I say I never got this good right off the bat, in fact a lot of my early art wasn't exactly amazing lol But it's always easy to get into Gmod art if you do a lot of practice and also have a photoshop program like Adobe or GIMP! (I'd advise GIMP if you don't want to fork over money for Photoshop, I hear it works just as well)

If you want some inspiration, here's some of my early art I started with so you can see how much a little bit of practice goes! But it isn't entirely bad, which means you can always start with a foundation of decent quality and keep moving up with each new art piece! Whether that's with posing or your editing choices in post!

New piece of artwork done and ready! Enjoy!

The effort in this is amazing, incredible.
Thanks! Surprisingly this scene in my opinion didn't require as much work with the surrounding area as most of my other scenes do, due to how small it is and how great C24_V4 is for art! It let me put my main focus on the Combine Grunt's pose to really make him look properly confused and a little disorientated, and the rest of my attention was put on the Xen growth to make it look nice and disgusting!

I did spice the environment up quite a bit by adding some of the foliage and vines in the area to amp up the abandoned feel and take the scenes from being a hallway no one used to a hallway that hasn't been touched for some time!

Fresh new artwork, hot out of the oven! I always wanted to do a Nova Prospekt scene, and I'm glad I finally got the chance to!
Exogen Breach Detected.png
Exogen Breach Detected
The Sector 17 Overwatch stood no chance against the Antlion hordes unleashed upon Nova Prospekt by Gordon Freeman, being overwhelmed mere minutes after the exterior defenses of the prison were breached. Those that were left had one objective sent by Dispatch: contain the outbreak, or die trying.

This is an idea I've had for some time and only just realized, I also wanted to practice using a lot more Xen props than I usually do! Hope you enjoy!
The Dump.png

The Dump
Ever wonder how all those heaping mounds of Xen fauna and flora actually wind up in the places that one finds them in? Well, look no further than the source that tends to dump them off without a care in the world.

Wowee, look at me, doing an actual scene build again. Anyways, this environment was a ton of fun to make! I had a lot of fun looking up references for old abandoned factories and buildings to really help model the environment after what you might see in real life! And then there was adding in all the props in what not, which was even better than the research lol. Enjoy!!
Urban Decay.png
Urban Decay
The outermost limits of City Seventeen are fill with old industrial plants, warehouses, factories, steel mills, plants and the sort. They're rarely used anymore, left to decay away in a rusty, plant filled grave. It doesn't stop those seeking to leave the confines of the city from passing through the husks sitting along Seventeen's fringes from time to time.

I felt like my artwork was lacking in the Resistance a little so I decided to make this scene! It was really fun to do since I was really able to customize all four rebels to be unique and distinctive in their own little ways!

Decided to do a scene based on everyone's favorite blind zombie, Jeff! Particularly proud of the lighting, posing and scenery of this piece, and I hope you all enjoy it as well!

"See? He's totally predictable! But he will rip your arms off if he finds you."

Who wants some surrealism here? Probably one of my favorite scenes by far due to the crispness of the screenshot and the general lighting, plus the scene in general is just amazing! Featuring my old character, Fergus Redmond!
Drift.png
Drift
Could this be a dimension between dimensions? An endless void of memories after death? A drunken stupor? Those were the questions that entered Fergus's mind as he watched eons of thought and being drift all around him in a chaotic yet still dance.
