Name of the Admin you were banned by: @ultima and @Robert
How long is the ban for?: (2/7/2024 3:35AM - 2/11/2024 7:27:49PM)
The reason you were banned?:
Homophobia, please refrain from saying the the "f word" in character and out of character, appeal at ...
Use of Slurs in OOC settings

Why do you wish to be unbanned?:
Just to be transparent, I'm entirely blind to whatever channels of communication you guys discuss as a staff team. I spoke with RAD-X, who chose to dismiss this ban and coincide with the other appeals already. Just like how another user has received as a result of their experience with the perception of this violation. I am unsure what the discussion has been, but it's clear there has been a disagreement somewhere in the chain because the ban was removed and then reinstated about thirty minutes later.

I utilized the command /setnickname pejoratively for myself only to identify a different character as an alias that is referenced as a homophobic slur. This mechanic in-game is utilized entirely within the bounds of both the old ruleset and the current updated guidelines. Which identifies that it should be conducted in a scenario that is isolated and protective of the players involved. In no way was any other player or character aware of this at the time due to setnickname being utilized in the decision process.

This was a command I set because the character who I believe is Robert Bedford played by bravo insulted my character. I have never had any out-of-character issue with bravo, and I am sure if you asked him on his response they would show indifference. The interaction between the characters were brief insults that were reciprocated back. I wanted to throw other insults that the character would have impulsively done. I never moved into using a homophobic slur in-character because I was hesitant on wanting to proceed and having to deal with the measures to conduct that. As you can see, moments later in the logs, I utilized the command again to remove it since it did not end up happening. I have never once targeted bravo out-of-character, or any member of the community. I have never used the terms in excess, unreasonably, or unrealistic.
Not a single person was impacted from this roleplay in-character, and you can tell I put in consideration to it. I changed it after penitentally not wanting to go through with it moments later.

The only time it was actioned upon is when administration team members were specficially looking for uncontextuallized instances through a broad lens out-of-character and administratively.

You may want to disagree and say that /setnickname or any command that is utilized in the schema is not in-character. I genuinely disagree /datafile is in character, /viewobjectives is in character. The F1 menu and personal notes are supposed to be in-character. There is not much of differences between the situation here and how other situations would have been conducted. The only reason it did not continue in-character is because I did not want to go through with it.

Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?:

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: N/A
