keys are useless if you don't own the actual door and you have a key to it anyway

so as the title says
if you have a key to someone else's building you can't use it because it says you don't have access to the building
which is silly as my business only has one door and that's linked to victory 3 which i can't access as it's on the second floor

At the moment, the key is assigned to an ID and thus you need to be the owner of that ID to use it... we have to do this for 2 reasons.

1. Ensure that no minge can just pick someone's key up and start using it to lock and unlock someone's doors. This is now entirely prevented and the admins can simply take their key off of them since they can't do anything with it... or they will get bored and give it back themselves anyway realizing it is useless to them.
2. Keys are what assign you to a shops rent. If you own a key, you will pay rent. If we tried to allow others to use that key... those users will now suddenly need to pay rent for a store they don't own nor work for. Each time you have a key assigned to you, it is locked to your person and you become a tenant. It is not possible to allow someone to use your key or someone to hand their key over to you.

In short, the current logic setup means keys are basically what a contract is irl. The moment you get it, you work for that store til you resign/leave or get fired. No one else can use said contract. So yeah, atm we don't support it.

yes but to access my store
i need a key for a differently store which i can't access
i only have one door and it's on the second floor which i can't access without gaining access to 2 other buildings

Personally, if someone has a key it should be taken IC'ly, otherwise what's the point in the key item if it acts like a biolock and ID card. Secondly, rent should be tied to CID numbers, not keys...

The key item is tied to your cid, the rent is tied to your cid not the key, the key is just a variable that gets added onto the system once you're assigned automatically or manually. The key has CID data which gets checked with the apartment to see if that CID is registered, before allowing you to use the key to open a door, the above problem derives from admins setting up shops and trying to give access to more than one shop to one CID. I told Robert that you can only be assigned to one shop on one CID, so the doors need to be assigned to the same shop.
