This map is huge as fuck and running shouldn't be punished by le cop mains who want to be edgy and have a 2d character.

Spine seems like the kind of person who would hate CPs like this, and in the past he's said he disagrees with a bit of stuff that I've seen CPs here do, like how to handle some situations. But he also seems to be doing nothing to change. there were reports on day 1, and no action from overwatch leads

Yeah, I agree theres some CP issues.

I was provided logs by those who wish to be quiet regarding some situations as they felt I'd be the better person to voice for them.

We litterally have cases of CP's beating and removing social credit points for reporting in and trying to provide contraband items to the Union including even potentially Identification Cards that were dropped.

Despite the fact the script item litterally says-

"If found, please return this card immediantly to the nearest Civil Protection Team."

You guys need to get ontop of this, I've provided the logs of the Incident to the GM leadership and Mendelevius but yeah. This is one single case of sillyness.


I will add this on a side note: I did get a CP who personally rewarded me a total of 1 Social Credit for handing in ID's. So if your that CP and confused by this situation, do not worry. This situation is a seperate one.

If the things with the Civil Protection go like this, then I'm afraid the reputation will make things even worse. Like even if it is Re-education, there should be done in secluded areas as well lads should have common sense about it.

If it is a known glitch, then it should not be punishable IC. Just hurts to think MPF might abuse this.

A lot of these things are being done by Rank Leaders, who presumableyhave been selected for doing what is intended. This is a systemic issue, not an issue of bad people getting into the faction because they don't check well enough.

Have you looked at the application process? It's bigger then the Vortigaunt process which makes all of this quite funny.

If I had to re-do an app, I'd take the whitelist removal on the chin; especially why how arduous apps can be (as well as how long the latest is.)

ESPECIALLY given rumours back a deficit of cops already, having everyone re-apply would be an extra work-load for the people trying to fix the faction long-term, delaying good progress

Make the app questions more relevant to what you want cops to be, rather than megacorp "GOTCHA" questions they ask: 'Why should you be entrusted with the Civil Protection whitelist?'
or: "Here are fifteen scenarios you should be trained for but we want you to give a verdict anyway!"
If the whitelist is ooc i.e. you keep the cop role even if you die? IC section doesn't really matter at all.

solutions:

1. Put out a new MO which must be read (even add a small test if you think it will help,)
2. Put rank leaders in their own discord channel which they can see - put out a directive or two, tell them to lead by example;
3. Crack down harder on those which actively shit all over RP. First wave of cops is about quality control more than anything else,
4. Once you weed out the shitters the rest fall in - So many will be used to the old orthodoxy of robo-beat-cop, once you get it out of them OOC it's kosher
5. Don't respond to every problem with "IC is IC" when it's a major issue

As Equinox said, please refer to the thread listed. In the future, please give your complaint some more substance. With no names or screenshots or... anything really, we can't do anything. We have monitored the CP players and this kind of behavior hasn't been displayed once.
