__- I am a new arrival here. My first days in this city have been harsher than others I resided in." -__

Name: Leopold Borawski
Age: 26
Mental Health:
Paranoid
Nationality - Polish-German

Backstory

"I grew up on my parent's farm, on the outskirts of Poland. Pa was German, his grandparents had settled on the land long before he even came to be."

"It's never been easy on us. Locals were always hostile towards us, all because a few years back, my Pa's ancestors occupied the land."

"I always tried to help around to the best of my abilities, since I was 12 at least. But I had my focus set on something else than farming."

"I never had the chance to learn in a school, like the other kids. I resorted to reading whatever books I found in abandoned buildings around the outskirts."

"It wasn't until those nice German folk that sometimes visited the farm brought us books on literature, history, guides on farming and what not."

"With those books I practiced my speech and increased my knowledge. My siblings always mocked my vocabulary."

"It wasn't until I read that book on psychology that I realized how easy it is to make people do what you want."

"I practiced altering my speech whenever I spoke with my siblings. It worked like a charm."

"One time, I was able to convince my siblings they'd get stronger if they shovelled the manure in the stables instead of me. Bunch of idiots."

"Life was improving up to the point when the invasion came. I lost contact with my family, was relocated somewhere inside Russia."

"I don't know if they're alive, but my only dream is to return to Poland one day, to find my family's farm. I want to see what was left of it."

Traits

People Person
"Being able to adapt to individual persons has its uses - It's good to have people who put their trust in you."

Manipulative
"It's one thing knowing someone - and another having them do your bidding. True friends will do as you ask."

Two-faced
"Why play one side, if you can play both? Reap the benefits!"

Obliging
"I feel sorry for some of the folk here. I try my best to help when I can."

Faction Relationships
Admires Respects Likes Indifferent Distrusts Dislikes Hates

The Combine
"You have to abide by the authority, whatever it is. That's the code I followed for the longest time. Just stay on their good side, at least on your visible side."

Civil Protection
"Lackeys. Every single one of them... It's undeniable that they do keep order around though, some of them can be less brutal than usual too.

Civil Worker Union
"They're just working people, they try to get by, like me. Oh, and they give me work and pay. Need to be careful when speaking around them though, most of them are Union lackeys.

Citizens
"They're... me. It's times like these that make you realize just how little differentiates us, apart from our views, of course."

French Citizenry
"The way City-13 is run, how the citizens there oppose the totalitarianism forced upon them, it's inspiring and fascinating. Most of what I know about them is hearsay though, I've met only a handful of French people in my time."

Vortigaunts
"They're aliens from another dimension... Same as those who've killed millions of people. But now they're... different. Could have been they were forced to attack, I couldn't care less, so long as they don't kill anyone else."

Personal Relations
Admires Respects Friend Likes Indifferent Acquaintance Distrusts Dislikes Hates

Boleslawa Kowalski
"The only person that really helped me more than once, you keep people like these around."

Ana Alva
"One of the only French people I know. She has a good heart. Our knowledge of each other is very brief though."

(last name most likely butchered will fix later)
Olivier Kremisch
"A struggling man, he's one of the first people I met. I want to help him. I will need to get to know him better though, he's hard to reach."

Grant Pressman
"One of the more approachable CWU folk, though I'm not sure as to how much I can trust him with, he's still nice to converse with once in a while."

Akira Ovaiss
"Another CWU person, most of the workshifts I worked were supervised by her. Don't know much else about her."

Robin Evelio Gray
"A friendly little guy, gave me a tour of the city. Seems to be quite knowledgeable, but too innocent to see through the fog."

Random scaver who allegedly kicked my friend's balls
"If I ever see him again, I might just get him a beating."

(my memory is short-term as fuck let me know if my character knows yours so I can remind myself)
