Limit CP's ability to legally harass Loyalists

Units are treated as 'tier 7 citizens' because they're the ones who actively fight for the Combine in practical terms (such as killing rebels, upholding the law, etc).
Core CCA (directorates, ministries) are treated the way they are because they have a position with power. A random Tier 4 shouldn't be 'ranked' above an i5 cop, in fact any and all loyalists without positions shouldn't be ranked above any unit.
Because without a position that provides something to the Combine (such as CWU, CMU, etc) you're just a collaborating citizen. Why should you be treated better than the cop who shoots those who actively fights the Combine?

Regardless, I think the best solution that benefits everyone would be to make the CPs treat loyalists better (punish them if they don't) and reinforce the Protection Act instead of giving loyalists power over units.
Do however keep in mind that this won't make any loyalists immune or something since CPs are characters too who can choose to RP as they want.

(btw, the ranking system in the OP is kind of silly and wouldnt work because there is no way citizens/loyalists can know a specific units tagline/rank unless the unit in question breaks anonymity protocol)

Also, this just seems like another one of those complaint posts that can be solved ICly. I don't know if you tried to report this behavior among CPs to CCA or CP leadership (aka MCP or Captains) or something like that but you could have probably done it and seen some effect.

Weapon scripts really should not influence importance. I'm assuming you meant that in an IC sense and worded it poorly, so I'll contend that with, yes, they are granted weapons. I don't advocate for average citizens being more important for them. I don't even advocate for loyalists being able to ignore or otherwise challenge them regarding legality. I challenge CP's being able to treat everyone like trash regardless of who they are. I challenge them having to feel the boot of the Combine on themselves, just a little bit. To force them to play a little bit of politics themselves and have to be at least a little careful of who they bully.
there ain't no politics bro, we're slaves forced to work

Well, nothing I suggested took any free choice away, same way that CP's being able to harm law-breakers doesn't take their own choices away. Literally anything that makes the loyalist system more impactful would be good at this point. With all the talk about how many problems rebels have, its been left in the rear-view, despite arguably being in an even worse state.

But you're not, If you want to be nice to citizens your character has every right. Dispatch isn't going to order your execution and your families if you decide not to be a colossal asshole and ruin someone's RP because you feel the need to.

willard players solve something icly? never

dude, its just a suggestion, calm down.

This was solved IC, I never even went OOC during the whole thing. Its a consistent problem (Imo) that I noticed and am making a suggestion for. That doesn't make me bad at playing the game or accepting consequences. Agree or disagree, no need to make it personal.

my idea of the civil protection is completely different from the one this server uses

As someone who was in the MAA Arguably one of the factions to face this shit the worse (So bad to the point where more MAA have been beaten and executed by CP's then rebels have managed and reports to MAA Command resulted in the Unit being completely withdrawn from the city due to CP's brutality of a T3+ Militant Loyalist force.) I'd imagine you'd be on board supporting this rather then immediately switching sides and popping on the CP Band wagon the second you got accepted. Smfh

i've never been beaten up or bullied by CPs at all in my time as a MAARPer, wanna know why? Because i RPed as what i thought is ''The perfect soldier''. That is a psychotically loyal kid with morals and respect.

Best solution. Don't award citizens power over units. Instead, discourage units from being brash against loyalists to the degree that it is obnoxious (not saying that units shouldn't be brash or that units are brash to an obnoxious degree). CPs can be edgy pricks, and you can complain about them, but don't expect to get a one-up over them. They're empowered to be pricks.

There's a fine line where its Immersive and where it's not fun anymore. It's immersive when theres a mass search/miscount after a shooting and you're agianst a wall and the CP's are being rowdy, What isn't fun anymore is when you flag on/up the CP's immediately begin following/stalking you and proceed to beat you to a pulp every day you do and you can't do shit icly about it Beacuse if you do people are gonna go "Lmao disbanded x faction" "lmao its a rebel faction" or some other BS (Being lowkey specific here but it is what it is.)

Pretty sure the loyalist system was to make supporting the combine more paletable and to create a gap between the loyalists and the citizens to limit inssurection and rebellion so it would make sense for CPs to go after them as really all loyalism is is a buffer between the loyalists and regular citizens not anything too crazy

The way I see it is If you do something that truly warrants the harassment, then deal with it since you've earned it. I can easily without a doubt say as a T2 loyalist that I've not been harassed once.

The majority of Loyalists I've seen on WN fall into two catagories.

The first is that they're respectful, do their thing and build a working relationship with cops. These characters are the ones I see who get listened to and don't get treated like shit.

The rest - the vast majority - get put in a suit and start acting like dickheads or go out of their way to be obnoxious and frustrating to exist around. These are usually the ones who get bullied and picked on, and rightly so.

Of course the bigger problem is you are practically forced to badger CP's for points which causes this shit to begin with.

TLDR:
Like eight CP's kicked open every CMU door, held my tier-6 char at gunpoint, spamming VC's and insults, dragging them through the streets, bragging about how they are going to torture and kill them, got hit, etc. (Also brought them to the wrong place :angrycop: ) (Also they weren't supposed to kill them, nor did they)
(Before some person tries to deploy a 'gotcha' this is not about upsetting me personally, I actually enjoyed the CCA's role in things. Its just not the first time I've seen it happen, heard it happen or had it happen. Its a general problem.)
Not to meta, but that actually wasn't our call. It was specifically Ito's request for us to be as rough as possible as an intimidation tactic. In fact, barging in while pointing guns at your face and screaming for you to get down was his idea entirely - the rest we were told to improvise.

If it wasn't for that specific request, we would've just done a regular escort. Personally, I actually pander to Tier 4s and above, simply because, ICly, I (and probably a good few others) fear the wrath of the RLs and MCP more than anything. Best case scenario, I get all the STC I earned in an entire week of work deducted. Worst - I'll get my lights knocked out by a Rank Leader (something that one of the i5s already went through for carrying too much extra stuff).

Hm. Alright then. Solves my personal example then neatly. Disregard that part.

I don't even see a point in Civil Protection units harassing fellow loyalists other than CP's that joined for "food and better conditions but hate the Union." The Collaborator Protection Act protects collaborators in cases where they committed a violation, but there is nothing specified about protection against harassment and what should happen to those units who harass people.

This is my response so far on this subject until I re-read other posts and other people's replies on this matter.

I think just civil protection doesnt give a shit if you are a loyalist this stunstick is E for Everyone :)
