Limit CP's ability to legally harass Loyalists

This post makes no sense to me really...
Loyalists are fully able to report civil protection once they are past a certain loyalist tier, since they become rather significant. Not really someone important, but the fact that a loyalist is mistreated is bad for combine's reputation wich can impact heavily on how people see them since then being loyal would make no sense if you are still mistreated, so rank leaders will punish units who act up agaisnt some loyalist tiers.
One example we have was a situation with a cp stealing from a loyalist the other day during a search, a report was made and the unit was questioned but nothing was found on him since it was the wrong unit, but had we found out he did steal he would have been punished accordingly by me and the rank leader.
Reason why units aren't punished is because loyalists are too scared to report anything at all or they simply go to the wrong rank leader or at the wrong time.

Let me have a say in this. As someone who's been talking with CPs a lot on Hox, I can say myself that it all depends on a character you're playing as. If you're someone who supports them, helps them in a way that you're able to, and you do actually have any position, be it CMU, CWU or even DoB, you can earn the respect from them. If you're just a prick, of course he will also be a prick. But now that the apps are purely IC, citizens that dislike loyalists can join the force and freely harass them. But again, it's not like they can't be bought over with a coffee and a sandwich.

But now that the apps are purely IC
They're not purely IC And I'm tired of people pretending they are, If they were purely IC We wouldn't need that dumbass google doc forum, You would have x amount of SC, Go for an IC Interview when contacted via terminal and be done, Instead you write an unencessary g-doc and post to the forums.
If you're someone who supports them, helps them in a way that you're able to, and you do actually have any position, be it CMU, CWU or even DoB, you can earn the respect from them.
So basically donate to the Policeman's ball or we're going to cave your break lights in. Or be apart of the existing power structure.
remove cp faction easy
Do it. You won't.

I actually think otherwise. I think the reason that they are so worried to report things is because officers often don't care about their reports, even if they have a loyalist tier. Without putting in many exact details to prevent meta, but enough to get the point across, if the situation quoted by you is in regards to Lucy's bottles being stolen didn't you falsely state that she spoke to you about it in the middle of Victory Street, and almost threaten to have her re-educated for False Alarms? No wonder loyalists are too scared to report things; There is no way to verify that you aren't speaking to a corrupt officer. My loyalist tried to request a rank leader from those she was reporting, got denied, then went to another officer to request the thing she was reporting gets spoken about, got denied, and then had to resort to using a request device to draw the ire of Rank Leaders because no CP would give her the time of day, and even then, despite the theft being caught on camera, no justice was done by the Rank Leader in regards to the offending unit(s). No wonder, with that example, loyalists are afraid to report anything, because the whole way through trying to even get it reported, let alone an investigation started, she was threatened or shooed off.

Whilst people have suggested having a direct way to contact MCP, I suggest that loyalists get that direct way, so that it stops lower-tier citizens rambling and instead allows those with loyalist tiers to directly contact the Ministry to have things investigated, with the proper evidence. They're trustworthy citizens, and I've seen too many T4+s mistreated, which doesn't make too much sense when the Union is trying to get people to look up to the loyalist tiers and want to be like them: Why bother going up that high just to get mistreated?

At the end of the day we're role playing in a dystopia- but for the sake of a healthy playerbase I understand the necessity to at the very least give an illusion of safety.
In my own opinion I don't think the current system is inherently wrong. There's plenty of padding around citizens in general already, let alone the so called loyalists- but each encounter will always be different as each individual has another way to perceive things. There's no way to tell which Officer will help you and which will screw you over - that sucks, but it's part of the game. Creating too wide of a safety net would ruin the already thin veil of oppression.

However, the best way I see to have a chance at justice for whatever wrongdoings may happen to your citizen is going through the CCA channels as they oversee the citizens in a different way and will be more likely to choose your side. There's a multitude of ways to do that, but the first one that comes to mind is via the Communion feature as perhaps the easiest, but also the most overlooked. You don't stand a good chance on your own at contacting the authorities that can aid your case, so employ the help of someone who might. Send it above the station of the beatcop so he cannot meddle in the affairs and do it in a way that doesn't infringe upon or further stress out the CPs that're more than likely busy with something else. See what the 'government' can do for you.

But as a final closing note and a repeat of the first point... assholes will be assholes, be that in uniform or out of it. And the universe that we're playing in is not catered to being a citizen on the grander scale of things. But I suppose if enough feel OOC'ly too restricted and oppressed, it at least warrants getting looked into - for the sake of having a healthy playerbase.

Small post scriptum: In my experience the vast majority aren't actually out to make your life a misery. It's usually due to somewhat justified events that you may be receiving a bucket load of shit.

holy necroli

edit: the concept of loyalists having any kind of power is ridiculous. the whole point of a dystopic environment is that noone save the very people at the very top have any, and there's always a class/faction that exists over or next to you that makes you feel like they have a boot on your neck, just so you never blame the real enemy. the system is structured and built on the different stratums of the middle class hating eachother so they never rise against the upper class and they stay hidden, pulling strings. loyalism is an illusion to lure you into working the cogs of a machine for the Union, and its rewards are a farse. by the time you bite into it, it's too dangerous or otherwise 'illusionarily inconvenient' to pull out. same with the civil protection, cmu, cwu, and any and every thing that isn't either the very top (the ones that get it all) or the very bottom (those that are useless to the regime). it's just how a dystopia works.

on that same note, it's pretty normal to hate "rats" -- but if there is excessive, RP impeding hatred, that should be tackled OOCly. But if it's just the lack of self awareness, then... well... not really.

edit 2: read books

Loyalist status is a way for the Combine to tell which workers are loyal and aren't a threat to their cause, it doesn't mean they care if you die.

The Combine only really care about people that are useful to them, like scientists, administrators, and other politicians, they could care less if some tier-5 CWU worker got killed in a work shift, people like that are easy to replace.

We didn't find the bottles on neither of the units.
And you went to normal units instead of a rank leader directly, idk what did you expect half the units are corrupt of course we are going grab you and beat your skull in just for trying to report us. And also that whole report regarding the bottles and the other thing was added as a reason to later on deservice that unit. Reporting to rank leaders, not normal units, you can request a officer to speak to a rank leader personally not come to them blaring the alarm that your whiskey got stolen. 💀
Edit: I don't think you requested a rank leader from me did you? Too long ago.
And even if justice where to be made, the loyalist would not know about it, we aren't going to punish a unit infront of a loyalist. You will never know if the unit was punished or not, you simply have to pray that you learn it from the rank leader if he decides to tell you wich is highly unlikely or some other way.

Here is my opinion on the matter.

I'm not reading any of the posts above cause too long and I'm too lazy.

This seems like an IC issue

(What I understand from this thread) Loyalist = Snobby citizens who thinks they should be given power over CP units depending on rank and tier status

(What I see what loyalist should be) Loyalist = The universal union's Yes men society that will gladly throw away their humanity to be considered as a property of the Combine

The mentality of those who wants to be treated fairly and equally for being a collaborator of the universal Union is literally missing the point of what world we are RPing, a fucking Dystopian World where one side of the humanity are attempting to prove the combine empire that they maybe considered as useful asset to their crusade and those who hasn't lost hope for humanity and will do anything to retake that was once theirs. This isn't a society where everyone gets treated fairly and equally.

A loyalist position should be seen as people who are genuine supporters, not masters. The master position is reserved for those who are in the CCA as they are the ones who are the branches of the marionette strings that connects to their benefactors commands and dictatorship. CPs are those who volunteered to gain the requested privileges to have a better life under the control of the Combine Empire in exchange of the service of sustaining control on the street and enact inhumane tasks to dominate the general citizen society. They are not supposed to be under the command of citizens, only those who has direct communication to the Benefactors. The CPs are to view every citizens as potential threat to the system and the only time they may ease their tension is from the loyalist status that a person may have (E,g: 80sc = shitty slummer | 200sc = Hard worker for the universal union).

If loyalist wants better treatments from the CPs, they simply attempt to earn their respect by aiding their issues at the time of need, get shit done when asked by them, socialise with them if possible. In conclusion, you scratch their ass, they may scratch yours in return and possibly respect you (key word: RESPECT: It is earned, not gifted through privileges). CPs are people who are sent to do dangerous task almost everyday and completely expect that death can be around the corner and must deal the traumas they go through or else they maybe seen as unfit assets and be treated as trash. So they will simply give absolute zero shit about your loyalist rank unless you earned their trust and respect to have their current privileges be fruitful. With the CCA, they dominate a leadership position that they can command a higher force of power to fuck over the CPs who don't follow the rules hence why the CPs by default will do what they are told.

Now with the consideration of the player-base health, give too much power and shit to someone that shouldn't have a lot of power and you will have toxic society going at each others throats how it is unfair (The rebel shit is different in reasoning but the premise of it fairly stands if you catch my drift). CitizenRP is seen as those who can be workers, doctors, shop owners, terrorists, rebels and etc. What they do is a complete diversity on their behaviour depending on the character's interest and the group is viewed with a grey imagery, not white and black. The system of having a citizen achieving a full loyalist status or become the anti-citizen 1 is a progression and must be earned to enter the three distinct segregated groups (COMBINE | CITIZEN | REBELS). Every player begins as Citizens, they choose which side to be in and they will work their way with their own path. A rebel path is a easy way of becoming enemies to the dominating Combine or choosing to become a CP is a guaranteed way to be seen as enemies of their own kind. Loyalist are those who worked their way to being seen as the Universal union's future while Slummers are seen as outcast and potential danger. In the end, the player will have to choose which side to be in and if they choose a complete opposite side, they are given the privileges of being who they are and sacrifice the other path hence why CCA members are fairly given the power to command the CPs while Rebels are freely given the option to mold their own way to achieve their image of greatness or failure.

Ought to be the longest tangent I've said to a thread but the point I wish to get across is that simply play the world you RP in, a Dystopian world controlled by an Alien Empire that was conveniently handed the planet Earth on a silver platter and a group of hopeful humans fighting to retake that was stolen from them.

loyalist rp is just slice of life rp with very minimal dystopian undertones at all

any attempt at adding any sort of dystopian undertones has been shut down

change my mind

Jeez, I wonder why loyalists are scared to report anything.

the idea of trying to report a masked figure by going to other masked figures is a fundamentally broken concept anyway

just point to actual suits with faces as the proper channel, CCA/MCP etc
