Can I get another unit to help me carry 307?( Silence, bits of static... )
I need someone to help me carry 307. We need to transport him to the Nexus.
( Silence, bits of static broken by aged Japanese Dialect )
""Where he is?"
"He's over here in VB-1..."
Footsteps begin to approach down the hallway of the CMU. Rank Leader 010 opens the door, finding 399 standing over 307's recovering body in the medical bed. The Rank Leader standing at 5'6 pans his view around the room at all the occupants, lingering on 307's body. A look of disgust showers his posture, before speaking.
"It's going to be faster just to shoot him. We are limited on resources, and there is a problem at the checkpoint."

He spoke with a harrowing seriousness, as all about the nightly activity of the garrison, an explosion could be heard in CP-1, just a few blocks away.
Alarms began to blare and chatter flooded over the radio detailing what they had seen. It was an explosion. On a normal Night Shift eve. The units clamored about Outland Priority Biotics. Freed aliens capable of unmeasurable amounts of destruction.
The Rank Leader called over the radio to bring all available units to the checkpoint. He stormed back out the way he came from the hospital and stomped with haste towards the checkpoint to see what had happened.
A briefing occurred there. On scene. There was no time to go some place formal. This was a potential combat situation. HERO-010 huddled the groups and pointed out the areas of danger. The troops began to assemble in the street of politi-control section three. When all the sudden...

... BZZZZZZTTTT ...
A strike of lightning pierces the chilled air of the dimly lit street. One unit falls to the ground, making a solid thud as the remaining combine swiftly begin returning fire at the two appearing Vortigaunts. A few more bolts of lightning crackled across the street as they continued to bellow their magic unto them.
In realizing they had become outnumbered, they began to flee. Taking their leave through the sewer gate near the train station doors.
You could see the steam coming off the Rank Leader's suit in this moment. What? Angry? Did they maybe catch this Rank Leader on a bad day? He wasn't his usual self... this time, he was... mad. Waving off to the rest of his units to pursue them, and without sharing a second for thought, the Rank Leader hastily starts towards the flanking entrance into the condemned zone.
Peeling his shotgun off of his body, he racks one into the chamber as his stout little feet being to STOMP towards flanking side... He hustled with stealth and precision down the ally ways of the slums.
It all came full circle. The grim walls of the slum almost froze a picture in his mind as he could not believe what he was seeing. Two Priority One Outland Biotics, just as he had calculated. And with little time to maintain the element of surprise, he made the only choice he could. He swiftly elevated his shotgun, racking off several rounds into their back.

But all the sudden, everything just... Slowed down... No words were spoken. No one was screaming... the radio went silent. He was in a gunfight, but there was no sounds of bullet, or blasts. It was so unbelievably quiet in this moment you could hear the water drops falling down the brick of the walls encasing him.
... And just as the shot rang off... time just got slower. And slower. And slower... almost until, he wasn't experiencing the moment anymore. His spirit, slowly began to lift up and out of his body...
... The spirit cast his gaze at the scene around him. Lighting flashed off the surrounding aluminum cans, dust flew off the bricks on the walls but was suspended in the air. As amazed as the spirit seemed, his excitement shortly busted after fixated his eyes on his body, not realizing that he was looking into the past. A voice speaks among the silence to Izumi. It appears another spirit enters the scene.
( In Japanese )
Izumi responds.
"I... is this a dream? It must be... They're coming for me. It works like a clock."
"I... is this a dream? It must be... They're coming for me. It works like a clock."
"I'm afraid not Izumi. Sadly, you are already looking long into the past. The decision that you've made here, in this place, is a permanent one. But I don't want you to be scared. I know that you are so scared... But what is next for you is so far beyond this plain.
"I'm... dead?! That's it? That's how the story ends is I die in this... this shit-fuck alleyway, and this shitty brick! By these shitty monsters? We should have never brought them here! They never belonged with us!"
"You... don't get it do you Izumi? Are you blind? You've hit the lottery, You're... free now. You haven't been free in years. This was the only thing you had to fear. And it's come. And now you're here. With me."
"This place... wasn't for you anymore. Look what they've done to you. Look at what they've done to your body... your face... I can... hardly recognize you anymore. Look at how much you have given. You have fulfilled what you set out to do."Izumi seethes in his spirited self, shaking almost violently. You can tell this broke his heart. You can tell this destroyed his world. His iron will, finally broken. The two spirits sit in silence as the temperature of the alley way slowly begins to cool.

"Everyone is there. Tsumungi, Reina, Hisako, They've been here with me. I'm protecting them."
"Wha- Wait? Mom? My Sister? My brother? They've all been dead? For how long?"
"Wha- WHAT?! This entire time I've... I've been doing this for! For Mom! For Reina! The letters they sent me were fake?!"
"We sent you what signs we could, but, you were busy? Remember? One thing into the next. It never ended because you didn't want it to end. I think, at least until today."
"What? You're trying to say I killed myself? That I wanted this?"
"No, I don't think you wanted to kill yourself. You... were tired. And you've saved as many people as you could possibly save provided the circumstance. You did the work you were sent to do. Now, we have arrangements elsewhere. Come, I will show you."
Slowly, Izumi turns around taking one final look at himself. A grin begins to crack over his face as he admires his moment of finality.
The two spirits joined one other as they ascended out of the brick wall coffin that was the alleyway. It didn't matter anymore what happened on the Earth. There was no capacity to care. There was no capacity to cry. It was over. It seems he finally died a HERO after all.
OOC Directors Cut:
Man, I gotta say, this was a fun run. I've never played a Japanese character before, it was absolutely cinematic. I enjoyed all the RP surrounding I want to extend a thanks to everyone who casted their parts in this story, from the bottom to the top. I wanted to pay some tribute to this one as it was the most fun I've had roleplaying in a long time. This character will without a doubt be missed.
