Ludwig Jager, was born and raised in a small village outside the City of Leoben, Austria, in May of 1989. His early life was of little importance or length, enjoying a rural lifestyle in the Austrian mountains. Within the first few months of the portal storms he was relocated to Leoben proper and resided there until the death of his parents in 2002 at the hands of invading Xenian life. From there Ludwig was raised in a housing unit, little more than a slum for the refugees fleeing to the cities. By the time of the Union invasion Ludwig was sixteen and spent a further two years under their rule, barely just becoming an adult before relocation to the new series of youth camps began.

He found himself in various relocations around Mainland Europe, yet nothing much happened in this time. He kept to himself; and little danger came to him. This changed with his arrival into City Seventeen, venturing out into the so called 'Free Yards' with the enticing promise of Freedom from the Combine regime. Here his life turned from one of civil obedience into that of armed resistance, meeting a certain man by the name of Hugh Murphey - within weeks he would go on to form the 'White Dove', with Ludwig as one of it's core members.

From here the group began to operate openly in the relative safety of the Canals, employing the use of propaganda and supply drops to make their name heard. At the same time they partook in various acts of active resistance, defending the Free Yards and engaging Civil Protection patrols and Loyalist figureheads. Ludwig himself however partook in few of these operations, instead beginning a small network which spanned from the general Citizenry, to the Civil Workers, Restoration, and Medical Unions. This proved especially important in the Insurrection to come, as arms began to flow into the Dove's hands from outside they quickly armed the renegades of the Condemned Zone. From here they were taken into the Dove's number, and a full takeover of the District was planned and executed within weeks, with Ludwig taking a prominent role. The fierce fighting, and failure of the outer antlion defences of the district, ensured a complete Xenian and Insurgent victory.

Ludwig was one of the few survivors to make it out of City Seventeen's uprising, in part thanks to Adj-2's wiping of large chunks of data and the general chaos of the District's collapse. Though a long road and one which cost him everything he owned; he wound up inside Crimea, as part of the mass relocation of Citizens there in Terminal-Six. For several days he remained here, reconnecting with old friends. During his stay tensions boiled over after an earlier incident, and Arabic gunmen held hostage several prominent Civil Administration members. Though he doesn't quite remember the outcome of this. Ludwig would be hastily shipped out of the Terminal and onwards to City Twenty-Two for a stay within Vienna, having a brief surprise encounter with a family member once thought lost. He would stay here for the year, his next relocation at mid-December.

Eric's journey in Geneva began in a district that by now is long lost to Xenian malignance. Working at the first iteration of the Sunrise business, taking the form of a small Indigent bar. Moderately popular until the District collapsed due to ongoing infestation. Following this, he was immediately transferred to the District Forty-Three. Here Ludwig enjoyed a career as a barista within the Sunrise Cybercafé, as well as several months in the Medical Union, serving under three different Directors. After a series of unfortunate happenings, Ludwig left his job and became a social outcast in the Slums of the city.

Throughout the year and over he had spent in the City Eric brought the White Dove resistance group to a resurgence, organising the Geneva Uncensored papers and leading the group to joint skirmishes and operations with allied groups inside of City Twenty-Four. Eventually, however, the group began to suffer from an inability to recruit new members among other things and they had made preparations to leave the city for good - embarking on their next journey outside of the City walls, and in fact, the sector itself.
