Currently, there is no way to actually level up the Vortessence skill other than spamming the Vort beam at the wall untill you hit the level cap. Obviously I and I'm sure many others would find this pretty immersion breaking and doesn't give a good sense of progression. However, I also realise making the /vortessence menu grant xp could be easily abused with trash, low effort entries. Perhaps even deleting them after they're made to capture the xp.
My solution to this, is to use the fact that each /vortessence entry is linked to the character as means to have it function like an xp boost. Assuming you have 10 entries and each give 10xp, you would effectively store 100xp. If one of these entries were deleted, then it would knock your xp back down to 90xp. Preventing entry spam.
This would give a more roleplay orientated way to level up the Vortessence simply by playing the game and interacting with the other Vortigaunts, though I'm not sure if a system like this can even be implemented practically.
