Since the days of the Storms, some have deemed Our Benefactor as illegitimate, that we, as a species, have been condemned by a force alien to our own with no understanding for our wellbeing, that we should welcome olden threats of chaos and death.

Like relapsing tumours, these individuals, depending on their nescience and a yearning to old, attempt to preclude the furthering of our species. They hide truths of humanity’s self-afflicted comeuppance, but like lying children, their nature shines through.

When the storms first gleamed, their destructiveness was of purposeful intent. In weaponizing these forces, we inadvertently spurred forth extradimensional horrors that ravaged our planet of its life. We faced the precipice of the void, its twilight, and the definitive loss of Earth to invaders we’ve invoked as we stood upon our last leg— yet instead of death, humanity fared a different conclusion— ascension.

It is then irrefutable when one says they owe their survival to Our Benefactors, a fact as clear as silage. Instead of consigning us to death as the lesser claim, Our Benefactors opted to rescue and advance our species, a process of their own volition, and through goodwill and collaboration, chose the most promising for humanity, that we work hand-in-hand for all.

It is this understanding that we exist in a time of relative prosperity and between those who act and those who complain, who achieved more? Times have not been without issues, however, and there live adversarial notions that hark to the days of destruction, who, weaponizing words, use our unison as a pretext to wage their war.

Still, by the end of their war, they will have accomplished nothing because humanity will have outgrown this deception and evolved; through self-actualization, with Our Benefactors in hand, we will have ascended to something greater than our parts.

I wish to speak [plainly] on the matter of [Industrial Twenty-Four] and [its] latest developments, particularly concerning the... [civil] disorder of late, which, despite being fizzled out [and vanguished] by the [combined] efforts of our Overwatch Forces, has provided ample cause for reflection at some length concerning the human condition these past better years.

I recall a time of peril— in the days of the past when we faced utter extinction and grasped tenderly for Our Benefactor's embrace. We were but an infantile species then— beset by a continual freefall of our self-making. And although we have made recent strides in our growth and development, as a species in growth, we are thwarted still in our attempts to conquer that which resurfaces, stymieing our way forward.

Since time immemorial, in examining human civilization holistically, one should realize that, in its totality, both the whole of humanity and, by extension, the ever-present law of evolution is always defined by the rule of two mutually opposing forces.

"Progress versus stagnation," "Sentimentality versus vision," "Old versus new," and "Good versus evil."

As an emerging species, we toil with the past and its anachronistic ideals, ideals which may or may not be incompatible with our current way of survival.

As a result, though some may think of Our Benefactor's methods as excessive, especially when juxtaposed to the past, one must assure themselves that progress is not without sacrifice; every action taken towards unity has its antithesis, a sinister twin who, symptomatic of a bygone age, infests our minds and stalls our prescience, as it clings to relevance always.

Like plunging trauma, enthralled by memories of a tormented past, immotile, hopeless, and trapped, there exist — individuals who,
clinging to the past and seeking to relive its joys, lean exclusively on their nostalgia, preventing us from forging new experiences, new progress, and thereby resist opposite to the tide, attempting to preclude furthering the growth of our species.

Provocateurs as they are, they look wistfully to the dreadful days of yesteryear, harking to the days of sorrow and chaos when humanity narrowly bridged that gap of life and death, pinned between the woes of our own machination, a sickness conjured by the self-proclaimed altruism of others who, two decades later, now wish to sink us back into that chaos.

And for what? The tyranny of olden threats and chaos? Who do they think suffers most from their days of pre-ascension turmoil? Surely, then, they think nothing of the civilians they hope to convict.

It is most problematic, then, when the people you protect — you protect from themselves.

I cite Civil Protection as one such example whose methods, for lack of a better word, are contentious but are wholly needed; were it not for the actions of a few scant renegades, our protectors would not have to resort to such intrusive methods to maintain peace and prosperity.

Of course, the irony of that sentiment is that not realizing the futility of their fringe sentimentality and thoughtless naivety in their forlorn revolt, they have necessitated the reaction to the reaction, creating the very source that is now responsible for their suppression.

It would be humorous if it weren't so pitifully sad.

Every one of us has our role to play, and though some may dislike change, change is good because, as a vital part of our progress, and when we're proactive, change embraces us unilaterally and thrusts us forward. It is only when we all embrace the tide that we soothe smoothly. Change is the mark of progress. Progress is the mark of unity. Unity is Ascension.

Run opposite to the tide, and you will stand engulfed. Our Benefactors have granted us a great deal of understanding; for the benefit of our species, let's not squander this opportunity.

Minister Mason Mbanefo, also known as the current Vice-Administrator of City 24, originally started his administrative career before the Ascension, being an accountant for the island of Moto Nord, which itself belonged to the government of Congo.

With the arrival of the Portal Storms, Mason found himself stranded on the small island, cut off from the mainland. Taking initiative, he organised a wide exodus, leading the islands' inhabitants away to the mainland.

With his new-found freedom, Mason would see the destruction of his home first-hand, choosing to once more take initiative. His new goal would be to seek economical aid for Congo, primarily in the northern countries.

With this mission, he would find himself in France, successfully convincing the cabinet of sending aid to his country, in return for an increase of its own material exports.

With the Combine's arrival, Mason's successful economic policies were not left unnoticed. Being swiftly relocated to the new capital of the planet, he became an official finance executive, greatly aiding the economic formation of the up-and-coming urban centre.

Eventually, the construction of the Citadel would signal a final show of his endeavors. For his efforts, he would be awarded the honorary title of "Minister without Portfolio", signifying his new permanent position as an administrative official.

Now commissioned by the Summit to advise the new Administrator of City 24, Mason would prove indispensable to Oda's campaign of reconstruction. Awarded with the position of the Vice, Mason's goals became synonymous with his experience - a new policy of mutural trust and capability, focused only on the growth of the collective, which he now guides directly from the nexus of industrial 24.

The Magnum Opus — the embodiment of both rule and misfortune — the leaders who took charge at the edge of the precipice; at the heart of it all stands the core administration, a force I serve and reckon.

Despite its precedence and authority in disparity to its small size, I find its constituents to be queer and argumentative. Stocked brim with mavericks, fanatics, and jesters of varying eccentricities and competencies, its members are a source of great haze, discord, and mourning to the people they command, yet nevertheless bound to their games, I am still.

Fervent propagandists, careerists, and bureaucrats who weaponize the very words and thoughts we boast, governed to wage unending warfare against its enemies and sometimes members. Comprising not only its mouthpiece, they're more often than not the brains of our furthered growth.

Unions are a tale as old of time; lacking in tact where they have potency, they're the cogs to industry, the great maintainers and builders, but also its usurpers; brazen and dim-witted to the point of sedition, their members' individual interests can, at moments, stymie to eclipse and undercut the boons of their organizational solidity, culminating in a contentious leadership and a frivolously perfidious but crucial tool.

I've no opinion on doctors and researchers other than their mindless droning or complaints.

No. I see in your members a mirroring of our humanity and its tenderness, a rumination of our shared experience. On a managerial basis, you are wholly redundant to our government, but separately, therein lies a hint of charm member-to-member whose doting tyros match hope and empathy, the same sentiment for self-actualization and progress.

But therein lies the issue, though. Unlike my contemporaries, I won't dismiss the notion that compassion is wholly undeserving in our administration, but compassion bores a tyranny of its own, that of manipulation. And through manipulation, you have been misled countless times again, a deception that renders you and your members untrustworthy and imprudent.

It's the very same bane of our existence that claimed the life of Industrial Twenty-Four's Consul, an agenda fostered by its parts, that of aberration and intrusion, perversion which accosts the group's right to exist and blossom. Whether you concede this fact will determine if your organization is more than a facade for saboteurs. You were delivered leniency before, and it's time to prove your grit.

An advisory committee of loyalists who've yet to advise; how you turn out, we'll see.
