Rising Sun
One of the few old-school Yakuzas, they are a living testament to the legend and influence of the old in the land of the new. Having started in the life of crime from a young age, Matsumoto Ryoichi quickly climbed the social ladder of society, preferring to live the bulk of his life on top, he thrived in the land of treachery and crime, calling many crime syndicates his own. Though not one to dread treachery and treason, Matsumoto still respects the way of the old and holds the pride and honour of the Yakuza close to his heart.

Soon after the Seven Hour War and the devastation of Japan, counting himself lucky as one of the few survivors, he took refuge within the Combine-controlled City 8 during its early days, one filled with struggle and life-or-death tribulations. Destined to rule atop once more, he used his experience and knowledge to climb his way back to the top, becoming a lieutenant to a new crime syndicate named the 'Aces', operating within the shadows of City 8, under the continuous benevolence of the consecutive administrations which colluded with them. Opening a new nightclub aptly called the "Shibuya Club" and using it as a gladiatorial ring for his bemusement, untouchable by both civil and law authorities alike, the old-school Yakuza spent his day faithfully adhering to the spoken rules of his masters while managing his criminal enterprise. Widely influential, his words carry prolific weight within the community of City 8.

City-Eight Attack

When the attack on City 8 by a mysterious entity of extraterrestrial origins occurred, Matsumoto Ryoichi was one of the few lucky citizens to have been notified of the evacuation measures and took shelter with many others within the CMRD headquarters, wherein he took command of the group of survivors before they were promptly escorted while under duress by the mysterious gas entity to the nexus; facing constant attacks by those who have succumbed to the gas entity. Fleeing the fog and taking refuge within the City Administrator's office, it was there where he was quickly escorted alongside the last of the evacuees to the evacuation point by Zlatoust and Overwatch Forces alike, where they would all wait impatiently for further evacuation out of the city. With the loss of the city to the entity, Matsumoto Ryoichi would be one of the few citizens to have survived the incident and been evacuated safely, joining many others like Minister Aleksander Michievic and Minister Utano on the buses as they dearly depart from the city under the supervision of the local Japanese Arteria Arm.

With the near destruction of the Yakuza who were hastily aiding the Civil Administration in reconstruction efforts, Matsumoto Ryoichi would be one of the few who would see this as an out of current affairs and would take the opportunity to migrate to another city until City 8 returns to full normality; transferring to a nearby terminal before ultimately being re-designated to City Twenty-Four, either due to some stroke of luck or the potential meddling of his "allies" to ensure his transfer to one of the greatest loyalist hotspots in the world. Stripped of his power base and influence, and with his loyalty status in question, Matsumoto Ryoichi, once a renowned figure, is in a city of unknown variables and individuals. However, despite that, he is content to reclaim his influence and notoriety, being the pretentious man he is.

City Twenty-Four

Following the events of City Eight and his movement to City Twenty-Four, transferring over with Tier-Five citizenship, Matsumoto Ryoichi quickly enlisted within the Department of Business, joining their ranks as a meagre store clerk underneath the employment of one Aleksander Wreath. Continuing to explore his options, Matsumoto Ryoichi would meet many faces with intriguing job prospects, becoming subjected to a sensory overlord as waves of foreign ideas and concepts overtook him by the day.

Finding his counter job more lacklustre by the day and inspired by his boss, Aleksander Wreath, to join the Legislative Assembly, he would find himself bottom-deep within the world of legislative policy-making and workplace politics. Becoming known for his contentious and argumentative, heated debates, he was never shy to provide an outsider's take on city affairs and policy. Through his stay in City Twenty-Four, he re-familiarized himself with new and past opponents and friends of the old.

After making himself known within the Legislative Assembly, Matsumoto Ryoichi ultimately rose to the comfortable position of acting head for the Party Committee, a disciplinary & evaluation committee for the Collaborators' Party, encapsulating discipline and authority for the party and its members. Empowered by the Legislative Assembly, Matsumoto Ryoichi quickly sought to make himself an invaluable asset to not only the Legislative Assembly but also the Vice-Administrator, Bernard Mulligan, in managing the internal affairs of the party.

To Ryoichi, City Twenty-Four was akin to a pipe dream, a renewed land of opportunity for individuals like himself, one where he was already guaranteed a comfortable position in life, far away from the dangers which lurked in his destroyed home of old. Despite this, Ryoichi found himself conflicted, forced to live a dull and meagre lifestyle without meaningful interaction or excitement despite his eccentric existence. Starved for sincerity and excitement away from the facades of loyalists, Ryoichi met on occasion with members of the Underclass, individuals labelled by the Administration as having less intrinsic value than the average collaborator.

Coming from a foreign land himself and lacking any rudimentary biases against individuals of lesser status than himself, Ryoichi found it easy to meet and sympathize with the lifestyle and mannerisms of those beneath him, though with a feeling of discomfort and anxiety, seeing as how he fretted any interaction with criminality. Though not one to put these people beneath himself or his colleagues, Ryoichi still valued his interactions fondly, similar to how as a kid, he would stare at the homeless people of a nearby park, scared but still clinging to that child-like curiosity.

Matsumoto Ryoichi finds himself living two lives bi-curiously, each paradoxical in nature to the other. Whether or not he'll bridge the gap or abandon one or both vicariously, only the future can determine its outcome. For now, Matsumoto Ryoichi lives a life of dull comfort and distrust, overseeing the affairs of the party with a sturdy leash. Here's hoping the leash around him is gentle within this city of marble.

@Vinyl
'Haruto Ito'

"Despite past grievances when I had initially joined the Legislative Assembly when there came a time when we despised each other, you have consistently proven yourself to favour and support my position as Party Committee head despite repeated controversies and pushback. It came as a monumental surprise to learn that you trusted my judgment and opinion."

@Furious
'Bernard Mulligan'

"I have nothing to say about you other than us meeting formally a lot more than others of my station usually should.
"You've become pertinent to my duties as an Auditor, and I am grateful for your continued faith in me despite the consistent hiccups I experience. Your solidarity to stand by me has endowed my loyalty to you. I hope to become indispensable to your reign."

@General Craw419
'Shinji Okamoto'

"Can't recall if we've ever been acquainted or not, as I'm sure we've never actually formally met. I vividly recall you visiting the Shibuya once or twice, but any interactions beyond are lost on me. At least I repaid the gesture by visiting your stall once or twice."

@General Craw419
'Dougal'

"The scarce few memories I have of you are either you acting as either 'protection' for myself or running amock on my orders while speaking in broken Japanese. Regardless, you've had your uses alongside Yumi. Tragic that the bulk of our relationship couldn't amount to something more, though in the short time you worked for me, your presence alongside the 'gift' I awarded you was more than sufficient to keep things in line."

'Yukiyama Yumi'

"An exemplary role model and specimen in the trade. Your loyalty and commitment to your work are some of your brightest virtues, and I hope you survived the downfall of City Eight. If not, you can rest easy knowing that one person will grieve for you."

'Nobu'Gah'

"A tough son-of-a-bitch. I embraced you wholly, and in turn, you and your kinsmen brought me joy beyond imagination. Bringing you into my fold was the best decision I could've imagined, for then I had the entire precinct of Vortigaunts jumping at the opportunity to work for the Shibuya organization. Your species has rightfully earned its position within the Shibuya enterprise, and although I am ashamed to never see you again, those scant few moments of you working underneath me as my enforcer and bodyguard are something I relive in my memories on a bi-weekly basis."

@Merlinsclaw
'Marat'
✟
"Would've never become acquainted had it not been for Ivo, and we would've never shared the few exhilarating moments we had otherwise. Truly the embodiment of a party man unlike my callous and cautious old self, and I miss you deeply for it. Since being brought into the fold, I had anticipated something of this nature happening, but I never expected our time to be so brittle and short. Rest easy, my friend, surely you have other foremen to stick it to in that oasis of vast, white clouds."

@Appetite Ruining Kebab
'Ivo Ivanovich'
✟
"Admittedly, when we first met, I did not like you, but who could blame me? After all, you and I had just come out of a brawl and we bruised each other up good. You've grown on me since then in our countless escapades, and had it not been for you, I wouldn't have been acquainted with Marat and the rest at all. It shames me to have abandoned you at your last moments, but I know neither you nor the others would blame me for my actions. I was never committed to the point of self-sacrifice, and we all knew that very well. It was enjoyable, you were akin to a spiritual brother and party man than a friend. I saw in your actions genuine friendship as opposed to the others."

@ella
'Kai Huseynov'
"It goes to show that blind trust leads only to ruin. What was your intent in digging up the past, blackmail? I had trusted you before, but now I am skeptical whether you truly view me as an acquaintance. Your breaking down has only shown me that your contempt runs deep, and whether you truly despise me, I do not know. You put me in quite the dichotomy. I do not know if I should consider you a rival or a friend."

@RogueSynapse (?)
'L.R - Little Rave'
✟
"Unlike the others, we weren't all too close to talk personally. Regardless, rest easy. To tread the same path as one of the chaps has already earned you my respect and a place in the heavens."

Maybe Shinji Okamoto, the Willard Networks Manager from City 8 as well as Dougal your old Enforcer in City 8?

Updated. Added several relationships, new images, and updated old images. Hue shifted from blue to red.

Ask to be added. Hope the overhaul is worth it by bringing new attention.
