A HALF-LIFE 2 ORIGINAL SHIT CHARACTER

Note: It's been a good 3 or 4 years since I've written up a character, so I might make some mistakes and shit, that and this is probably low-quality. Sorry.

-BACKSTORY- Born to a lower-class family in Helsinki, Matti has always been accustomed to poverty, but still, he was happy, focusing on arts and crafts and literature in primary school. Though after he reached adulthood. He was kicked out of the house due to an economic depression hitting Finland during the 90s, forcing the family to throw the baggage away. Though this meant that Matti couldn't continue schooling due to him having to focus all his efforts on finding a job. And with the miasma of depression looming, finding jobs was exceptionally hard, more so with the fact that he only had primary education. Eventually, he gave up and caved into the hobo lifestyle. He learned many useful skills, fishing, crafting, tending to his own wounds, the occasional fist-fight. Though this all changed after the Seven Hour War happened, Matti woke up to fighting, explosions, and shouting. He immediately went into the sewers before fighting got bad. And hid there for a few hours until the fighting ceased. When he climbed up from the ladder, he swiftly lost consciousness and was dragged away. He woke up in a holding cell which itself was located in Turku. Yet it quickly came apparent that this was not the same familiar visit to the police department. This was something else, something much worse. But with time, Matti adapted to the new life. As he had done before, years passed, and eventually, he bribed a high-standing Administrator to make his official document state that he is unfit for conscription and that he should be transferred to be useful somewhere else. -PERSONALITY- An extroverted yet quiet man, Matti tries to get along with everyone. And he doesn't try to have any judgments about people before he gets to know them, though people who intidimate him, most commonly either Civil Protection or those who are in the slums, are avoided. He very rarely gets angry or agitated. -LIKES AND INTERESTS- Poetry "When I was a teen, I fancied myself to be a poet and a philosopher when I grew up, those times are long gone now." Fishing "I used to fish a lot when I was homeless, for food and such. I grew good at it and it became fun. Though nowadays I doubt you can fish anymore without getting your head bashed in by the masks." Badminton "Hmm, badminton. Fond memories, I used to be the best in my team when I had a good life. I wonder if sports will ever become a thing again." -DISLIKES AND AVOIDANCES- The Slums "Eugh, I've had enough of slums and sewers to last a lifetime. At least now I have a cheap, clean apartment and a reliable source of food. However tasteless."
