A wise and well-dressed World War II veteran who was lucky enough to have lived through it all. He went back to Los Angeles, his hometown, and enjoyed an intriguing career as a police officer there. He tracked down criminals as a beat cop, applying his combat experience to his work. After having been recognized, he advanced to detective and was assigned to the homicide unit. After that, he had a rather interesting career before deciding to retire and become a Private Eye​

It had been a while; the work was monotonous yet consistent. Nothing particularly noteworthy until one day a well-groomed man visits his workplace and offers him a job investigating the Aerospace Launch Site in Colorado. He accepts and prepares for the journey. After traveling there for a few days, he began to investigate, but the weather did not cooperate. He became stuck in the snow and made an effort to find safety. Unaware of what would happen next, he stumbled onto the Occidental and was allowed inside to seek shelter from the blizzard.​

Bombs are dropped, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki; the Axis forces were defeated by the Allied Forces, Hitler poked the bear when declaring war on The United States, for it say the great military power, in History, come to aid the attack on freedom and democracy. The dictatorships, and totalitarian governments, of Japan and German fell. Thousands of young Americans, primarily men, would fight to uphold democracy. William G. Harding was one of those young men. Serving in the United States Marine Core, battling on the European continent, after having landed through Sicily. Harding fought the Nazis, taking victory home with him.

Harding wins the election, for Colorado's 4th District; running with the democratic party and taking 55% of the votes, for the District it was evident he was the right choice. His background, in the armed forces created running speeches which supported reform in the federal government, but also change in his district. Not just representation, through voting on bills. But actual progress with the powers granted to him. He was mentored, it hadn't been a random race. Working with the Department of Defense after his call back to the United States, Harding would work under Bill Fraley, until his retirement from Congress.

5 years ago, in 1947, the wider US public was fully introduced to the idea of "UFOs" after the incident in Roswell, New Mexico. This event caused public suspicion and hysteria against several things- the Russians, the Government, but most notably... aliens. The little grey men from the movies, feeling as real as ever. Though most people don't truly believe, especially after the pictures came out with the weather balloon explanation, there is one undeniable fact- these "men in black" showing up after public incidents like this to question or threaten the locals. Or just simply observe them.

1 month ago, Colorado experienced a meteor shower, fascinating the locals of the small Coloradan mountain town below the Occidental, a few newspapers even printing the rumor that yet another UFO had fallen from the sky. But those stories quickly lost traction, yet another example of yellow journalism misleading the American People... right?

A week and a half before the Occidental began to fill with such notable names like William Harding, Navia Ainsley, Hu Han, and Edgar Owlsley, Johnathan Dillard checked in. Rarely interacting with the staff, the lodge was simply an in-between spot for his room and the outside. The only time he speaks to staff is if he needs something or has questions. Other than that, he's kept to himself. Even eating alone. Paying for everything in cash raised a few eyebrows, but his large tips to the staff have tended to keep suspicion away from him. That was, until the murder...​
