Natsumi 'Summer' Yamashita
山下夏美
ファムレウタ - A Ryukyuan lullaby and by far her most favourite song.
An aptly titled song by one of her most favoured composers. Excellent theme material.

A depiction of Natsumi upon her first day as Superintendent of the Ministry of Civil Services' City 17 District 47 Civil Worker's Union chapter.
"If you take the first character of my given name, 'natsu' you get the English word, 'summer'. I suppose that's why people call me that more than my given name. It's just easier for them, I suppose."

Relationships Saki Hirakawa Not a day goes by where I don't miss you. I miss you so much. It's a shame that the Civil Partnership had a massive change in directives, thus tearing us apart. I feel it is a great shame for our situation as we agreed to it in the first place so that we can be assured that we can stick together, through thick and thin. It was to be just that. A partnership, not marriage because, well... We both don't swing that way. I also took measures to ensure that pesky Saraid and that thirsty deviant, Paul wouldn't nab you and corrupt you. You are truly my other half, Saki. You really made my day the first time we met. Not only was I happy to meet a fellow Japanese in that cold, polluted district. But sharing my loyalist ration packet with you, eating like in the old days is one of my most treasured memories with you. How I long to go back to the days where we'd spend hours looking out the window, reminiscing and cracking on sentimentally about the old days, our dreams, our fears. Wherever they've put you now, I hope that you'll never forget me. That you are safe. Someday I would love to see you again. We're like sisters through and through and as the bigger sister, I naturally worry about you. Please stay safe and well. Belmont FIsher We have been through plenty together, haven't we? I still remember the day when we met, at your bar that you had put so much love and attention to, only for it to be fledgling. That was a real shame. In the least, I got to meet you. I was uplifted when I speaking with you, learning that you are quite the hardworking gent with ideas and goals that'd rival those in the Civil Administration. From there I assisted in inducting you into the CWU so that you could better achieve those goals and see those ideas through and that you have!. From your successful clothing store to the renovation of Rourke Housing, you really made it, eventually being promoted to Supervisor and well deserved too. I was proud to have you as one of my Supervisors, but also, my friend. In fact, I'd put you onto that very exclusive list of my own. One where the closest, most trusted people I've ever met now stand. I'm eternally thankful to you for assuring both Saki and myself a seat on your evacuation dropship out of the ruins of District 47. As sudden as it was, you have my enteral thanks. I've also heard you're making your way up into higher places. I won't say what that is, yet I am still happy for you. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours, but also, I wish to see you and your wife again real soon. (I still owe you dinner.) Rolf Osborne A fine addition to our local CWU chapter back in District 47. An individual I inducted and hand-reared myself, if you will. Always one for good ideas, one to do his best but also a good, upstanding fellow. I was overjoyed when I discovered that you returned from that mission you volunteered for. That you were safe in sound, save for temporary hearing loss. Yet all the same... I felt terrible about having to leave you and the rest behind that one day... Rather, I still do today. It was so sudden and because of that, my judgement was clouded, my thoughts racing. It was hard to say goodbye like that so quickly. If I could go back and find you then, you would of came with us. I assure you of that. Still, for a long time afterwards, I'd often cry myself to sleep over such a parting. It really troubled me. In any event, I see that you'll be working with us soon. I'm honoured to have you as one of our Assistants. You're most fitting for this role and as you know, you would of made Supervisor if the situation didn't sour so quickly as it did. I hope to see you again soon. (I still owe you dinner.) Fae Erikson Another fine addition to our chapter way back when. Hard-working and loyal, almost... Fiercely so. In the least, your loyalty could never be put into question. A model worker through and through. It was good to see you work hard towards building up your idea for a brewery in the district, for it had many potential uses for the local district and even beyond. It's a shame we couldn't see it competed in the end, due to the rapidly deteriorating situation then. It also pained me to leave you and the rest behind when my opportunity came to leave. I hope you hold no resentment and that in the end, you were able to leave safely. In any event, like the many others I've had the pleasure to meet and work with, I do hope I can see you again real soon. Would of made Supervisor too if the situation didn't go south as quickly as it did. (I still owe you dinner.) RAZOR-7 By far the most courteous unit I've dealt with back in District 47. Such a gentleman, befitting of someone of his rank, I'd imagine. I enjoyed our time together, even if it was somewhat short. You've done plenty for both myself and Belmont and that is something I'll never forget. Still... I cannot get out of my mind the very thought that you were seeking something from me. That there was some sort of motive in taking me under your wing as it seemed. Whilst our respective goals at the time were aligned, I cannot allow that feeling to leave. Still... It was a pleasure, regardless of your reasons. I've heard whispers that you were able to escape. How and where to, I do not know. Yet wherever you find yourself today, I hope that you are safe and well. I'd love to have that Korean BBQ with you someday. I haven't forgotten about that. SWIFT-6 The former Chief of District 47... How you frighten me... It wasn't always like this, though. I remember you wanting to speak with me when you were yet to be promoted and we discussed ways to get the citizenry productive again and you voiced your concerns over how you wish for that to be so. Our ideals were definitely aligned, but even so... I'll never forget that day for as long as I live! Coming up behind me at Winchester's, up close, ordering me back to my office with Belmont present. Accusing us of a capital crime. Having my office, not having been set up for a single day, destroyed before my very eyes. Detaining us. Deep down a part of me believes that you were going about your duties the way you saw fit and that this was some sort of show of strength or what have you. Still... You terrify me! Lev Morozov He had been a member of the local CWU chapter for as long, if not longer than myself at the time. I met him on my first day after being inducted. I asked him where I could buy a fresh pair of pants to compliment my new uniform and he kindly offered to sell me a pair. I held onto that pair for as long as I could, acting more as a keepsake, once I bought a different pair later on. All in all Lev is a friendly man with a laid back vibe about him, but that doesn't mean he is a sub-par worker. Much the opposite, in fact. He had always been compliant, willing to take up new skills and happened to be very reliable and adaptable. Yet another person I would of taken with me, but couldn't. I really hope he survived that ordeal and is doing well, wherever he may find himself today. I wish I'd know, because I still owe him dinner! Good man.
