Short Stories is and will always strive to bring out the best when it comes down to both big and small scale events. Creativity and innovation are most welcomed, because Short Stories is not just a place where we only build upon the tried and true city roleplay formula, but a place where we constantly innovate and try to become better at out craft with each event. Be it based within the HL2 universe, or otherwise.
We're a small but veteran team that aims to bring nothing but interesting story lines and drawn narratives that are culminated by player enjoyment and fun. Our events are meant not to be a simple memory, but an experience that one remembers throughout the years.
And to provide something as meaningful as this, we require talent, we require concepts, we require ambitious people willing to back us up in this grand ambition to push the art of narration above and beyond.
You define the art.
And the art, defines you.
Requirements:
Must be 18 or over.
Must have a decent understanding of the English Language.
Be able to fill out the form below with in-depth, detailed answers.
Have a (relatively) clean infraction record.
Applications must be posted here.

SECTION ONE - GENERAL INFORMATION Discord: SteamID: Age: Timezone (in GMT format): What is your general experience with HL2RP as a whole?:
SECTION TWO - WILLARD HISTORY How long have you been playing with us so far?: Do you have an infraction history across the server/discord? If yes, provide a brief overview as to why: Are you part of any factions within the main server?: Are you part of the staff team/event team on the main server?: Why should the community entrust you with this position?: How would the community benefit from your presence in the Short Stories team, and how would you benefit from it in return?:
SECTION THREE - EXPERIENCE Are you familiar with SAM and Helix commands? (Y/N): What is your experience when it comes down to running events?: Do you have any experience roleplaying in a different setting other than HL2? If so, describe it: Provide us with a short list of settings within HL2RP (outlands, city roleplay, etc.) that you have experienced: From all of the above-mentioned settings, which one does appeal to you the most, and why?: What events have you taken part of in the past/recently?:
SECTION FOUR - TRIAL & UNDERSTANDING This section will make about 60% of the general verdict that you will receive. Provide as much detail as you can. There is no simple right or wrong answer. Provide a simple and concise event concept that encapsulates the very idea of city roleplay. What spin would you put on the day-to-day city roleplay that would attract attention?: The current Short Stories team has their hands full. You're in the middle of a megaevent, and find yourself roleplaying with other players. The GM chat is tense, the amount of in-game tickets is only rising more and more by the second. What is your course of action?: You notice a lot of players bashing and being outright disrespectful towards you and the rest of the team within the out of character chat. Despite crunching the entire day, providing various in-game events, some players aren't seeing your effort. What is your course of action?: What makes an event successful in your opinion?: Under what circumstances should an in-game event be entirely voided?: Briefly describe with your own words the relationship what the relationship between normal characters and event characters should be: Last but not least: submit a document that contains an event concept that takes place within the setting of Half-Life 2. You do not have to write in great detail, though keypoints and a general idea of what you want to provide us with are required. Should you be accepted, you will be requested to run your event submission as your first event.
| SECTION FIVE - CONCLUSION I, the applicant, hereby acknowledge that I will use my position responsibly to entertain, engage and involve the playerbase with various events and should bring about positive change to the server and community alike. Any abuse of my powers, both in-game, and on the discord servers, are subjected to the authority of the Short Stories managers. By writing this application, I, the applicant, agree to the confines for which the server deems proportionate. I acknowledge working with likeminded individuals in a cohesive team while following the regulations beset by the server guidelines imposed, and will not act disproportionately to misdirect from those guidelines.
