PARALYZER

Origin : Varies. Typically spawned in the sewers.
Age : Varies. Typically a few days.
Temperament : Headcrab

<::ANALYSIS::>

An unusually persistent pest, or rather, a re-occurring behavioral pattern in the recent brood of headcrabs. As of recent, sightings have shown that this re-occurring behavioral pattern manifests as a desire to hunt for prey in higher levels. Despite normally preferring stealth, this behavioral 'strain' has displayed a desire to hunt for prey where it may be most active, despite the obvious circumstance that prey will not be as easily able to be incapacitated and will likely receive assistance from nearby individuals.

Has shown a slightly increased sense of intelligence, although the term is used loosely, because stealth is consistent with headcrab tactics, as it is a popular way to acquire prey and hosts - to assume them by surprise, however this behavioral strain had shown to have increased evasiveness in the sense that it will attempt to retreat if it senses it has lost it's advantage or if it senses too large of a presence of multiple individuals or one particularly large one.

Unlike typical headcrab behavioral patterns, this one exhibits more caution, but at the same time, more aggression, as it is inclined to pursue prey even when not hungry, but is hesitant to engage unless it acquires an appropriate chance or moment to do so.

The behavioral strain is most typically seen inhabiting the Indigent area, perhaps due to the lower activity of civil protection, although this may not be a correlation, and purely a coincidence, as it's intelligence would not allow it to discern such a threat. However, this theory comes into doubt due to some reported attacks on territory beyond the Indigent zone, which, thankfully, resulted in only minor incidents with no casualties.

(Sidenote : This behavioral pattern is typically only observed in the venomous variant of headcrab.)
