PK Appeals and Requests

PK Policy

Right to Appeal

Any player who receives a Permanent Kill may file an appeal here. Skip drawn‑out arguments in‑game or on Discord. If you believe the PK was wrong, submit an appeal.

Who Decides

@Genny and @Count Orlok lead the process. They may consult the full staff team in a private Discord channel, weigh the input, then post the ruling. If both managers are unavailable, a substitute or the broader staff team will step in.

Public by Default

Appeals are by default public so anyone with evidence can contribute. If you believe a private appeal is necessary, ask the PK Managers for one. If they approve, the thread will start in a private forum thread and the PK Managers can invite witnesses as needed.

Consensus First, Verdict Always

The PK Managers aim for consensus between the staff and the players involved. If no agreement can be reached, the managers will issue a final decision that is binding on all parties.

Timeline

Expect an answer within 24–72 hours, workload permitting. If >72 hours pass without a response, tag us once in the thread.

Finality & Process Concerns

Once the verdict is posted, the thread will be locked and archived. We will clarify any points that are unclear if necessary, but the outcome will be changed only if we identify a clear error on our part or if significant new evidence is presented.

If you believe the verdict was incorrect or issued in bad faith, you may submit a new appeal after the required two week cool down period between appeals.

PK Appeal Rules

One appeal at a time

Do not repost the same appeal or open duplicates for the same character. Wait two weeks after a denial before trying again.

Be respectful and concise

Appeals clarify facts, they are not for venting or retaliation. If emotions are high, cool off before posting.

Provide evidence

Screenshots, logs, or recordings are far stronger than witness statements. Never tamper with evidence.

Witness etiquette

Only post if you have direct evidence or testimony. Tag missing participants if needed, but avoid off‑topic opinions or “+1” posts.

No time limit, but sooner is better

The longer you wait, the harder it is to verify events.

No disrespect or shitposting

Offending posts are removed immediately. Repeated offenders may face administrative action at the discretion of the PK Managers.

Character deletion

If you delete the character before the appeal resolves, refunds are not guaranteed.

PK Request Rules

Last resort

A PK should conclude an ongoing conflict or storyline, never initiate one. Try other narrative solutions first.

Meet the criteria, act in Good Faith

Read the PK policy and confirm that your request meets every requirement in both letter and spirit.

Record and document

Full video is best; screenshots or logs at minimum. Solid evidence strengthens both the request and any later appeal.

Expect an appeal

Any PK can be challenged. Collect witnesses and documentation beforehand ("Record and document") if you are not confident it will stand, reconsider.

Behaviour matters

Rule breaches or low-quality roleplay can void a PK instantly. Treat everyone with respect throughout the process.

Involve Staff Early

Alert a moderator or Event Team member in-game as soon as you start planning on executing a PK. Their oversight can guide the situation and prevent misunderstandings.

Updated PK request format to be in present/future tense and not past tense.

Added a PK appeal guideline to not post on the thread without having any evidence/testimony to add - if you just want to complain, do it in the right forum section and do not clutter the PK appeal with it

Further clarified the PK appeal rules:
  1. Stressed you can always make an appeal, but that we ask you to be reasonable and respectful about this.
  2. Expanded on the rule to not post unless you have got something to add. I've seen an uptick of people shitposting, posting a giant testimony without any evidence or being involved or just general off-topic posts on appeals. Know that I am very strict on not allowing this - if it doesn't contribute to the appeal, or if you aren't involved, the post will get removed.

Small update to note that you can appeal even if you deleted your character, just that we might not be able to refund everything you had.

I updated the thread, it was largely outdated.
  1. Details on how Pk appeals work
  2. Minor adjustments to the rules - mostly feel free to tag anyone if they weren't tag on the thread yet, even if you aren't involved any further. The faster people get tagged, the faster they see the thread, the faster they post, the faster we get the appeal resolved.
  3. Pk requests are gone. They were barely used and don't fit with the philosophy of PK's at Willard.
  4. A basic set of guidelines on how to attempt a PK were added instead for those not familiar with the process.
  5. Also changed up the format for appeals

The thread and its contents have undergone a visual overhaul.

They have been shortened, clarified, and are now designed to reduce confusion and assist with the transition toward a more narrative-driven PK policy.

Thanks to @Genny for doing the majority of the work!
