Implemented Player-run events

If we are going to do this please consider starting to value more quality over quantity

Unless your objective is just to give that freedom to everyone despite its quality

We aren't at all asking for event suggestions. We're asking to run our own events.

Events are... complicated.

There is a reason that my team is split into "Story Team" and "Story Team Assistant" because for a event to even occur requires staff assistance (in our current setup). Therefore beyond suggestions all players can really do when it comes to events is act as event characters- everything else has to practically be done with staff. However, I am willing to get someone to open up a event suggestions area on the fourms under the new "events" subfourm. These events of course will be events that will only take place on the main server as any events that take place on the Short Stories server will have to go through @FungletheBungle
This isn't what this post is about. We don't want the story team to take our events and act out their own interpretations.

Like, it's frustrating. I don't get how hard it is to understand. Gyran's post makes it so painfully clear

I honestly would never feed MY event idea to someone else in some random event-suggestion channel
Like.. Read this ^

Adding a suggestions thread on the forums or saying "Just DM the story team" is exactly what the original suggestion doesn't want to happen.

Have a forum section where players are be able to design their own events and have them approved by staff. They should get temporary GM perms and run THEIR event with staff help and supervision.
This shouldn't be hard for anything to understand. This is what the suggestion wants. We don't want you to do our events, we want us to do our events.

I really cannot see what's so hard to understand about this post @TheDeNuke @Atle

Calm yoh face, we understand what the post is about.. We ain't blind. Things are still being discussed, whether it's player run or not, it needs a place where ppl get their events accepted/denied - Aka the forum suggestion node.

I get that now, yeah. Thanks for the reply. But, when every UA reply to the suggestion says something along the lines of "we have this", then goes onto the explain the story team or ways to suggest events, it makes me feel like no-one's actually bothered to read the post.

Hey everybody,

We will put the player-run events on trial, which means a player can GM their own event, and it will be supervised by an Admin.
First, you write your event plan here: https://willard.network/forums/wn/event-suggestions.302/

@Robert will finish the development work that will make it possible (A rank with limited permissions).

I will leave the thread open for a bit to see if there are other particular suggestions regarding this.

This is being worked on dev wise for a role that grants basic event commands but no moderation nor item spawning abilities.

Done. Role is implemented and now possible for players to do their own events.
