Previous character gone for seemingly no reason?

[Cash Ketchum]

Back when I joined the server for the first time on City 24, after the Alaska event, I created a character called Ivan Korhonen. I stopped playing for a while, and when I joined back, I was forced to create a new character for, as the title suggests, seemingly no reason. I am creating this thread in hopes of learning that reason, or, hopefully, having Ivan restored.

I should also specify that nothing happened to Ivan, he just up and vanished.
