Having dispensers in the store was the quality of life feature that was added to make the life of store employees easier. The feature was removed to the detriment of the experience for no appreciable gain. It's a small QOL change that does improve roleplay.
I simply fail to see how this change has improved roleplay in any capacity. @ItsLiam and I both had stores on previous maps, with internal pickup dispensers, and still had customers roleplaying inside of the store. If a store has the items in stock, literally nothing changes on the front of interacting with the customer, so RP is unaffected. If they don't, and the employee chooses to run across the map to get it, RP is only sabotaged.
It seems to me that what actually happened here is that this change was proposed without looking at store RP, and now store RP is being examined after the fact, and seeing that it is still functional despite removal of QOL features leads people to conclude that the removal of these features somehow improved the experience.
