ok hear me out totally my idea
what if there was a radio right
where you could insert either dropbox or youtube links ok
and it played the song you inserted
maybe we could lock the radio behind a certain flag or something so minges dont play bangarang or weezer 24/7 (weezer is actually in willard lore so thats ok)
think about it ok? i am so sick and tired of hearing the fucking benefactor radio song play over and over i literally oocly run away when i hear the same song pla y 356 times
 
Getting some musical variety to an extent would be an excellent thing. Hearing the same fucking songs over and over instills a primal rage within me and I want to gather up all the radios on the map and blow them up.

Currently, we have the /playsong command that links up to YouTube directly but it plays for either everyone serverside or playing local clientside which doesn't stop until you either lower the volume or wait out the song. It travels around with you, regardless of where you go. It's annoying.

At this point, people need GM rank to even remotely start up a form of night club, bar or something similar for a living atmosphere, barring the already existing radios which, I am sure, are sometimes 'illegal' In-Character.

This idea has my support with the granting of a flag to a character. Saves the centralisation for staff and GMs to constantly play DJ... trust me, I know and it's painful when you're doing admin sits and have to run back and forth to /playsong the song for the dude who's supposed to be the DJ himself AND being forced to listen to it if you don't mute it.
 
In a semi-related note can we please just make all the music radios legal

You wonder why the DoB is so inactive and yet force them to listen to nothing but benefactor radio??? Please make this better.
 
I am in support of this, on the stipulation that it is locked behind a flag or such other anti-abuse measure as has been suggested.
 
Unfortunately, after some consideration, we have seen fit to Deny this suggestion. While it would be helpful, we have concerns over immersion being broken by unfitting songs or music, and a system like this may not be performance-friendly to some players. That being said, we do plan to redo/expand the existing radios, so hopefully, you will have a more extensive variety of radios and songs to choose from in the future.
