Who doesn't know this: you find yourself on the server, conversing with others, making IC acquaintances, friends, but also enemies. Safe to say, the more you stick around, the more people you gather around you. The more time you invest, the more ideas come to your mind. It is right then and there, when you get to plan your plot. Either with care, or with spontanity. There comes the day, when you carry out the plot however.

"Charles Nitch has been charbanned!", says the notification above your screen. This would be it. This is normally the end of your plot, and satisfied with the results you walk away. Except you don't, because despite the fact that a staff member has indeed overseen your plan and its execution, you get asked to join a Discord group chat because I have a LOOOT of justifying to do for my IC actions. Through OOC means.

So far so good, no complaints from me. Yet, lo and behold, your progress gets undone next day. You're being told, your character remains banned, and you find your entire progress wiped in the faction that you've been whitelisted for an entire eon.

Let's be more specific.

I've been a rank leader here, and last night, I was demoted all the way down to i5 with my character banned. The last part irking me the most, I allocated an entire authorization and time for it. It's frustrating, even if we pretend that the punishment fits the "crime".

Noah Majors, who has garnered a lot of notoriety around the garrison. He has caused enough indirect harm that makes a good portion of the cops to hate him. I decided to take IC matters in my own hands, and deal with this IC issue appropriately by getting him killed.

Bear in mind: Noah Majors is a civilian that was hired as an MCP facilitator, he isn't whitelisted for the MCP faction. Therefore, in my and many people's eyes, he is a Combine-affiliated character.

Majors doesn't fall under any of these, and before carrying this out, I checked with the rules specifically because it doesn't state ANYWHERE that MCP affiliated characters are considered Combine characters. It's utter non-sense to require an entire rogue auth to kill a snitch.

What is also non-sensical is that ICly, Majors has done his absolute best to upset almost every unit he comes into contact with, and it is somehow expected from a rank leaeder to somehow take a liking to him, despite refusing to comply with my orders ICly and being a constant pain the ass to my unit.

As anyone can see, Ultima brings out several points here which actually need some explanation. The first and foremost being: we were asked by @JustDanny in-game if we have PK auths. I told him no, and there is no requirement to write up an entire auth to PK someone if the IC criteria is met.

This should've been argued in a PK appeal, but unbeknownst to me at the time, Noah Majors was unbanned, as if nothing happened. I did PM @Cjtn10 in-game and asked him about it, because I wanted to know if he had one by chance, given the fact that I didn't think of making one. The IC criteria (which I will get to in a bit) matched, and we carried out the execution.

Secondly: the evidence is "INCREDIBLY unreasonable", citing how Majors got PK'd just because he "threatened us with OTA", and "didn't leave my office when I said so". No, those are the things are not why he died. I'm extremely disappointed that I didn't get the chance to explain any of it in a PK appeal and I don't think it's right for him to get unbanned without going through the same proceedures as any other player. But regardless.

Majors has caused indirect harm to a unit of mine, to the point where I was ordered by my higher-ups to cut him a finger. I think it's completely justified to take matters into my own hands, and deal with the problem in my own way, given that some form of harm has occured.

1. I don't need a PK auth to get rid of someone, if the evidence and IC actions add up. They do.
2. It's nowhere defined that I need a rogue auth for a tier five civilian that is affiliated with the MCP.

I can go on and on, but I said everything that needed to be said. My whole conclusion is that there's too much red tape for something as simple as a PK. Willard parades itself as being hardcore, but the moment someone tries to do something it's immediately taken OOC and you're somehow being framed as a rule breaker.

What's even more outrageous, is that the PK manager himself can't be bothered to make an appeal like any normal person and let me argue my case there. It's unjust to frame this as a rule break given that it was neither specified, nor was it "loopholed" as Ultima likes to express it. Not to mention the entire rank and progrerss wipe, where my IC progress was resetted, and subsequently, character getting banned.

It might not be a SERVER rule, but this is a FACTION rule, which is why you aren't banned and your progress in the faction has been undone instead.

This is not your first time breaking faction rules. This was also not @Cjtn10's first time disregarding faction rules. Both of you have acted rogue before without permission. The alternative was a de-whitelist.

MCP Facilitators are considered Combine characters. They don't have the MCP whitelist because that gives them an abundance of authority and clearance to things their role doesn't permit for. There's a section highlighted with bold in the faction ruleset which states clearly that you should always clarify with the leads if you don't think something is clear.

I don't have any more time to go in-depth on this but this decision was not made lightly. Civil Protection members are trusted with a lot of authority. These rules exist to ensure you don't break that trust and you did

Seriously, I told you this when I talked to you. It does not matter what sort of proof you can give me, you didn't ask/inform anyone regarding it, none of the leads and none of the pk managers. Call it "red tape" but we have rules and you're one if not the highest attainable and most powerful position a player can get without being a Faction Lead.

MCP Facilitators are considered Combine characters.
Wasn't stated anywhere, myself and a handful of other cops included saw Majors as a tier five with ties to the MCP. A glorified whistleblower. It's nowhere in the guide stated, nor can this be deducted from the current guidelines.

This is not your first time breaking faction rules.
My other time was on City 8, where I killed a command unit due to me being in a position where I would've had my character shot. don't think this is something so severe, considering my action was later justified by the addendum you've made on the rules later on that states that any unit can retaliate if their life is in danger. But that's besides the point.

the faction ruleset which states clearly that you should always clarify with the leads if you don't think something is clear.
A very convenient citation, but how can we ask for clarification in regards to something that doesn't even exist.

Abuse would imply I handled this situation without good reason. I think it's proper thinking, if someone gets you into trouble to retaliate back. I will say this again: Majors has caused a unit to lose their fingers. I don't agree with this, given that there is IC reasoning behind this action. My only mistake here is not getting a PK request, something so minor that I don't think it should warrant an entire wipe of two characters.

As far así know, from what council said and that includes someone who was CCA at the time and from what I was told back when I was FL. If you don't have the white-list then you're not included in that rule.
So majors is not mcp, you can't be CCA without having a purple name, you can't be a cp without having the cp wl, you can't be a vort without being a vort.
This is what council told me, this is what atle told me, this is what boile and shotgun told me at the time of my FL and votton too.

If this changed I don't know, I'm just here to tell what I was told by several staff and at the time CM which was the council.

Not just that but this was discussed already in another thread where it was clarified that you need the wl to be included in rules such as the CCA rule where any death means a pk and I could go back to my dms and fetch where it is told to me That it is the case.

It's not a new rule, it's something quite old that we already have established.
No WL = no inclusion in the rule.

The rules of Willard suck and need to be rewritten, along with a staff member reshuffling. Simple as.

Horrible staff members will do what horrible staff members will do, getting joy from their little OOC power-trips.

They're probably good people IRL, but absolute power, no matter how petty and insignificant, corrupts and fills the egos of people to take away from others in a pseudo-narcissistic fashion.

The server's numbers have been steadily decreasing, rebel roleplay is practically dead, and even the slightest attempts for people who aren't server admins to lead roleplay are being shunned and punished.

CHANGE THE RULES AND RESHUFFLE THE STAFF ROSTER.

I'll probably be punished somehow because words hurt the fragile egos and feelings of others but I could give less of a shit, I have more fun on other roleplaying platforms so nothing anyone does will hurt me. Countless other members have left or stopped playing because of the way things are now, and they need to be changed for the better. It's really that simple. The only reason it hasn't been done yet is because staff-members and leaders are content with having others be discontent.

I'll just say once more that the amount of GOOD roleplayers that've migrated to other platforms is unreal, and many of them solely stated their reasonings as how disgusted they were with the narcissism and bias inherent in the upper echelons of Willards Staff. It's not all of them, it's not many, but a select few who are the loud minority among the rest.

That's all, I expect nothing to change and for this server to eventually deplete (save for map-changes where population will be 80 on opening week but will gradually shrink) with all the narcissistic, incompetent problem-causers wondering to themselves...:

"What did we do wrong..?"

aren't you the guy who tried to pk a vort for a joke.

Nah, I didn't try to PK a vort. I never intended on perma-killing a vort. My civipro character shot a vortigaunt because he grabbed my cop's gun and placed it against its' head, begging for death during an interrogation. If you're an oppressive policeman and an alien creature is trying to take ahold of your weapon with suicidal or homicidal intentions, putting the threat down is not an option.

If you want to believe that though, that's fine by me. It doesn't change the fact that Willards averages only around a fraction of the usual population most days and that my words hold truth to them.

- Has IC reason to take action against X person
- Enacts their measures against X person
- X person in question gets unPK'd
- Y person who acted against X gets OOCly demoted and locked to i3

gotta love willard even when there's cause to take extreme action against an individual there'll be ten rules which fail to account other factors, causing both sides to try and interpret them like it's some old law written centuries ago

and most of these rules have their interpretation shifted by people who wish to benefit the side they are with

Lets not get dramatic. The server isn't dying. Willard has been dead any dying more times than I can count. Let there be a problem without hyping it up to be some world-ending catastrophe. It just detracts imo.

Please organize a rule change committee with smart Willard roleplayers and start running meetings and produce refined proposals for rules.

This is a nomination.

Overall, Willard is a melting pot of many types of role-players, culminating into a bureaucracy that has to bend to several wants and needs at least to my experience. A waste of it which you may get in the end is confusion and the barring of players from significant roles for speaking up.

Wow. This has gotten off topic. And to add onto what Ozzekiel said, if it is not explicitly stated and a grey area, ask. Rules are not like civil code, there will be grey areas.

W-what grey areas if this was discussed before... there was a SITUATION QUITE EXACTLY where a CCA char without a WL got pkd... and this was brought up and it was stated, if you wana be CCA YOU NEED THE WL and if you don't have it you're not included in the rule...same shit I was told 2 YEARS ago. IT's been like this, keeps like this and will still be like this...

If you work for a cop that doesn't make you a CP it makes you a Citizen, working for a cop. Nothing else.

2 years ago. Next you’re going to cite me the "freedom of roleplay" rule. This post has nothing to do with the posts of faction leaders and their whitelists in CCA, and revolves around the role of Majors in MCP - an entirely different whitelist system than CCA and FLs.
