Denied Remove OTA

add grunts
That's OTA as it stands, grunts just free up the roleplay restrictions on otherwise robocop OTA.

This doesn't address any of the more mechanical issues (ota being flagged on while a low amount of cps are online, balance from ota being deployed more/less frequently), however these seem to have been addressed. Letting OTA have a personality is just fluff that doesn't change much.

I will add it here for people to understand that OTA is not really robotic.

This is taken from OTA Guide

The only TRUE ROBOTIC OTAs you will see are EOWs due to their position within the Combine hierarchy.

If there are any questions regarding OTAs, I'm free to discuss it.

There is not much point in adding grunts. If we were to add grunts, then we might as well do as the suggestion says; replace OTA with CPs. Considering that yes, some problems could be fixed, but only to a limited extent - for example, based on current stereotypes, I would imagine if grunts were added that they would not be allowed to do things like guard the CA or other important figures, among other tasks. It's a half-fix; essentially investing even more resources into a faction when it would solve more things if it were to be removed completely.

Grunts are gay ngl.

HL:A did a shit job on that part and lemme mention.. grunts aren't actually OTA in the first place. HL:A grunts were designed originally in lore and writing to be a division of the Infestation Control team. They are nothing more than glorified infestation workers with a pulse weapon. They are given 0 protection other than a hazmat suit, meaning they are inherently weaker than CPs because they have a base SMG, with maybe a grenade and then absolutely no armour to speak of. It's like they are wearing paper.

Grunts =/= OTA by the original design. The only reason Grunts became OTA is because they had a change of mind mid-way through development and never bothered making sure grunts actually looked like OTA apart from their helmet. It was basically a copy-pasted grey hazmat citizen model with some colour/texture changes and then head hacked an OTA helmet onto it and called it a day to save time.

Their original purpose in the game was to serve as babies first enemy and be like: "Hey we got this awesome infestation control team now, and some of them are allowed guns" before they finally decided to make them the main enemy and forces of the game half way through dev. That is pretty much their story. They were never designed to be OTA in themselves, was just a part where they had to get a bit lazy otherwise they wouldn't of got the game out when they did.

That is at least my understanding from everything I have read about them. Since I too was curious about their existence at first until I found out so much crap about them that it eventually became obvious they were just one of your throw in enemies because of late changes.

Anyway, with that lil rant about grunts out of the way... OTA aren't robocops as some have stated already I see.
