Having some variety in the area of scrap weapons would be nice. You can already make a scrap AK, then why not a Scrap Shotgun? Considering realisticly they wouldn't actually be so hard to make!
Shotguns from Metro 2033 that I could list:

Uboinik (Shambler)

Duplet

Ashot

And lastly, I would suggest adding a new shotgun to the BMDs:

Saiga-12

It can be argued that an auto shotgun might be too overpowered? But the thing is the MP 153 already worked in a similar way and on Willard with weapons, everything needs a magazine so it wouldn't really make much of a difference between the two in that sense.

Shotguns dont use magazines anymore, they take it from the box

Do they? I just noticed with the popper that it still needs mags so I guessed it was still the same with shotguns

Shotguns no longer require a magazine however adding scrap shotguns is a cool idea, especially since all our scrap weapons are weapons from Metro so it'd fit aesthetically.

+1

As long as scrap ammo is removed (Makes 0 sense, excluding for Thischkar and the Helsing, because even irl scrap guns like makeshift Stens use normal bullets), I'd be fine with it, but, issue is, if they'd be too good they would need balancing.

For instance, if a makeshift shotty is too easy to make, it'd be the best option to use 24/7, especially on how enclosed C24 (and other maps like C8) are. On the other hand, if it is too weak, due to how it's made, then nobody would use it.

scrap shotguns.... unless you are 4 stacking they are all just EOKA pistols from rust. You kill or get killed High risk low reward sorta situation

The Uboinik holds 6 rounds and as for the rest as said shotguns no longer need magazine which would make reloading easier on them

I agree some scrap guns still need some changes like for example the popper still needs mags and you can't even craft the mags for it anymore

Hi,

We lowered our weapon a little while ago due to the playerbase requesting there was far too many guns in Willard and that we should only stick to the default HL2 ones. Of course, some still wanted a few custom guns so we have a situation of what we have now where there is 3 pistols, 3 revolvers, 3 shotguns, 4 SMGs, 4 Rifles, 2 Snipers and 1 DMR. Of course technically a machinegun too with the Suppressor LMG for OTA.

So its all fairly balanced out amongst the categories.

With that said, we aren't looking to add another shotgun into the mix as not only would it be pointless but also start heading back in the direction we were in before were there was too many weapons. The duplet we had before was basically ineffective at its job, another useless gun which people mostly ignored due to scrap weapons meager armor pen and crappy damage. They are at best PvE guns than PvP, so would just be adding another literal garbage gun into the pile of accessible scrap guns.

We don't see this being accepted at this time.

tbh the only reason i think the playerbase wanted to reduce the overall amount of guns is because rebels somehow gained 300 aks so the whole point of scrap variants were pointless. If I can get an MP5 with one day of farming why would I try to farm for a scrap shotgun

that was considerably worse than every gun possible due to people moaning about it being able to kill CPs in two shots (its a shotgun so cope)

Yeah, there is alot of complaining about balancing and the sort but if we want to look at it on a real life perspective then you can't complain if a weapon is going to be more efficient against what you have lol, but of course this is just a video game

nah jumbi i dont get what people wanted from the duplet. Its legit a double barrel and if i cant kill em in 2 shots fuck the gun. Simple now image this we have more new world guns than cold war guns / scrap i wonder what happens to the gun economy

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the reason that people wanted some guns removed + gear wipe happened, is BECAUSE Rebels were just arming themselves with M16s, AKs and AR2s constantly, and making Cop lives miserable.

But now, I feel like a scrap shotgun could work. Even if only for PvE.

Considering a weapons rework coming in soon and us moving away from... add-on related matters, this is looking rather implausible.

DENIED.
