Suggestion Script whores, guns, hardcore and RPG. Fixing the true problem.

Damage is a little deceptive, you can kill extremely quickly but it's all reliant on the absolute travsety that is GMOD's shitty tickrate and ArcCW's bloat making half of your rounds either not register or miss - coupled with the terrible accuracy most weapons has leads to most fights being a sheer statcheck where armour and high-firerate to overcome the tickrate is king.

Here's me taking out a pair of cops with an MP5, with one having a M16A2 with the F/A attachment [literal best meta gun] - you'll see how they die pretty quickly, although I have no idea what that second guy was doing, probably radioing (sorry!)

But, one thing I'll agree on is that it feels like the hit-and-run playstyle rebels 'should' have is nullified by the overall low damage values across the board - you have to put at-least 80% of a mag into somebody to kill them, and that's with most of the shots hitting. And, mind - that's with a comptentent gun like an MP5 or MP7 - and the moment they start running or dodging (as you'd do, obviously!) it gets wonky as a result of the aformentioned tickrate issues, making hit-and-runs literally impossible (even more so if you haven't got a fast-firing, decent gun with armour peneration - such as a MP5/MP7 - you're completely fucked otherwise) which means suprising and ambushing people is completely moot as it devolves into impulse tier firefights of strafing and firing a thousand rounds into eachother.

Pray-tell WWB when it releases (if it does) it simplifies and makes firefights a little more engaging.

One quick note about TTK - I was always of the belief that 'headshots should kill instantly' for the name of realism and clockwork/neb nostalgia, but after a lot of playtesting on my own failed project and a bunch of mock scenarios I've learnt that dying literally instantly actually isn't much fun and the longer, drawn out firefights allow you to actually, reposition - heal, repair your armour etc and it's much more engaging than getting triple-tapped by a 900 RPM MP7 and dying practically instantly.

It's nuanced, for sure. Sorry for the complete nothingburger fence-sitting post, but - my 2c.

I have to add my little input and say that people been bullet sponges are bad. A faster TTK means that people get flanked, ambushed, etc., get punished for not covering or being not careful.

In this clip (Min 2:00 to 2:18) I have to reload every time I kill a cop bc I know I won't be able to kill another one with half mag, the last cop taking almost 25 bullets before going down.
(note on the clip cops have 100hp and 50 armor)

I feel like we need faster TTK to punish this people that are unaware of their surroundings and give some reward for those who adventure/take the risk of flanking even if you have a scrap weapon or pistol you should be able to inflict the damage you deserve so to speak.

I feel the same as @pyromancer about headshots, instant death by headshot is not fun but the current bonus for it feels not worth even trying, headshots are supposed to be high-risk high reward as you aim for a small objective for a somewhat big bonus so to speak.

That is all thanks for reading.

I'm forwarding what Robert said in the Gameplay Team chat regarding TTK.

So in regard to faster TTK. It's already at its fastest it can be; people are bullet sponges due to the armor they are wearing, meaning it's going to take a bit longer than 1 to 3 seconds to kill a player

Wasn't the thing you linked where a bunch of RECRUITS new to civpro got to practice S2K while they were also testing armor stuff? Most of us were just getting used to stuff, lmao.

And? that matter bc?

Because it's a bunch of people that were learning to s2k??? While they were testing different things like how recruits match up against rebels with (at the time it was either the 25 or 50 armor)???

still matter bc? I'm talking about the time to kill sushi not the skill of the players I can be flanked divine can be flanked, stanford can be flanked I really don't get what you trying to say.

And in the post I clearly say 50 armor but ok.

Delete all scripts and guns from the server, you guys had your chance and clearly missed it.

Return to S2RP. Normalize spending the next 2.5 hours furiously writing /me's for a 30 second gunfight

About that.
Was testing guns on a perfectly still target earlier.
Many, many shots just phased out of reality.

In this clip only 18 bullets were register the rest IDK maybe they are in narnia
And this is the console log I have showing that only 18 bullets were registered by the server when in the video clearly shows 27 hits.

LOL HOLY SHIT. Several headshots on the mp7 to do only 7 damage max with half of them not even being registered yeah that'd piss me off as well

Hopefully whatever mints cooking will decrease this case
