There are some good odds that with the technology they have, they may be able to terraform on several habitable planets which can allow for humans to breathe without the need for a space suit or something similar, either that or make something that would protect humans from dangerous environments if humans were to even ever be on the other planets of the solar system.

Besides that, what do you guys think? Humans probably wouldn't be on places like Mars or the Moon for a long, long time to the point where it's nearly impossible due to their almost near destruction due to the events of Half-Life 2. Do you guys think the Combine is just chilling on the Moon?

No, because there isn't life or resources on those planets.
They’ve dominated and conquered galaxies by the time they reach ours. They’re literal aliens so I thought they’d have the manpower and the advanced tech to be able to habit planets other than Earth.

The entire plot of Ep2 is about rebels shooting a rocket into space which is supposed to link up together with the Black Mesa satelite Gordan launched in HL1 which remained in orbit dormant ever since and then do science together to seal the portal. This means the combine either does not know or does not care about the BM satelite. Which suggests Their conventional space travel (atleast assigned to this planets Garrison) technology is fairly limited if they are incappable of doing anything about the satelite in the 20 years that passed.

Its confirmed multiple times that while The Combine can jump between universes/realities easily enough, once they land there they're stuck on using 'existing' means of transportation like spaceflight.

That's why they're so desperate to complete the portal tech because they could use it to jump from planet to planet inside a universe.

No, because there isn't life or resources on those planet
The solar system is full of resources wdym? You have the gas giants that are rich on finite resources like helium, methane and other valuable gasses. You have planets like venus which have valuable metals in their cores even mars supposedly has Iron. To say that there are no resources or life is false, For all we know with the combine's vast tech they could explore our universe seek out other life forms we haven't met and conquer their planets or maybe start a galactic war (Might make for good sci-fi fiction where aliens liberate earth from the combine)

It always looked to me like the Combine would just have an easier time opening a portal to another universe with a fresh planet than getting off-planet the conventional way.
HL2rp lores with Combine space fleets are absolutely retarded because that implies they could have glassed 17 with an orbital strike before having to sacrifice their citadel.

I would say it is possible, combine in general are way more advanced than humans, they're not occupied by the OTA but more so by Overwatch Synthetic Arm. Thinking about possibilities they can generate power from sun, they've multiple gasses and ores on different planets, everything that is required to keep empire running is more or less here.

I don't think we would know about them there since not so many people can watch the space under combine regime and even if they watched them I think there would be just mining bases.

The reason why the planets might be still around is due to the fact that they might know about gravity and maybe they calculated that until earth is depleted they shouldn't destroy other planets as for now to not endanger their own projects

WB king

Can't wait to see the combine clown on Jupiter and get squashed by the massive gravity

if you guys think about it the 'off-world relocation' voicelines in the game from Overwatch can add onto the theory that the Combine do inhabit some planets of the solar system at least in some form

Wonder how fucked those people are post ep 2

If you can build a Dyson Sphere, you can build space ships. Therefore, you can also use interplanetary means of travel with said ships. Epistle Three while remaining non-canon does mention these subtle hints.

Except only one thing - the Combine don't bother expanding in the Sol system because it's a waste of resources. The Combine are only here for one thing and that's the equation to simply move while remaining unmoving with localised portal technology. Unlike human kind who wants to dream about colonising the stars, the Combine are a bunch of tethered leeches to the multiverse. Should they find signs of life, any signs of life, they will conquer it using the vast technological hyperborean advantage they have.

Considering they either have 314 planets (or 314 systems in designation) under their control, it's not impossible to think that some form of interplanetary travel is possible but do not consider it a priority within our realm of space. Space is vast... very, very vast and the only way the Combine can currently lock onto travelling large distances is amalgamating the possibility through their slingshotting / catapulting methods of portal manipulation.

That's my personal take.

Aside from the above its also worth noting that the Combine are a multi-universal, massive empire who's reach is effectively infinite, provided they know that something exists, know where it is and it intersects with the borderworld - which most things seem to. (If not all)

So, this means the Combine likely have so many resources and planetary candidates at their disposal, such an infinite well of possibility that colonizing a potential rock is not worth it. Why do such when you can just as easily utilize one of your limitless worlds that are already perfect for whatever you need at the moment. I don't even imagine the Combine use space travel that often at all. I am sure they could but its such an impractical method of travel that they likely stick to the much faster and convenient portals.

The Combine will probably never know what lies beyond the Sol system
The Combine also probably don't give a shit.

An event on Europa would be perfect for this.
Lil brief story of Europa. Europa is one of Jupiter's moons that is around 4.5 Billion years old. Why is this important? Well, Europa has water under its icey shell. Now, sorry to spoil the surprise. Life can't exist on Europa (as far as my research goes.) But, our planet got invaded by empire from a different dimension, we can cheat and go away from realism.
So, technically. Due to its age, and water. Life COULD TECHNICALLY. Exist, which could make a good event.

Back in 2021 there was a SS Event called "CERES off-world" which took place on the Dwarf Planet Ceres which orbits off of Mars and Jupiter. The main premise was a facility had been built on the Dwarf Planet in order to harvest a special type of Ore the Combine were interested in.

I believe this event serves to prove that the Combine does have facilities outside of Earth. Perhaps not throughout the entire Solar System but it has control over some areas.
