The scrap revolver takes .357 magnum ammo and it still does less damage than the bolt rifles, also ammo alone is really hard to make and most groups can only really reliably make 9mm, and that's still stretching it because even in big groups like the duchy we can barely get ammo as it is. I would like to make some changes to the scrap weapons, the revolver and ammo specifically. The rebels pretty much only have scrap guns, and they're almost not viable at all because they are so hard to feed and they do very low damage compared to most melee weapons. The operation of the scrap guns is extremely expensive, compared to their actual combat ability and I think we need to alter this to make it more viable, because if we go through the effort of getting guns why shouldn't we also be able to actually use them?

Here are my suggestions.

-Make the revolver shoot 9mm ammo.
-Slightly buff the revolver's damage since it is ridiculously low, I think the current damage is like 17? I can do more damage with a lead pipe which is very silly.
-Make ammo require fewer resources to manufacture, seriously there are like 3-4 different craftings recipes you have to do for a singular component of ammo, and you'll have to do this long tirade of crafting like 7 times before you can actually craft ammo, and then you still need to get the resources to go with the ammo that arent like white powder, the requirements for ammo are simply ludicrous.
-Reduce the revolver's strong adhesive requirement to 1.
-reduce 9mm's crafting level requirement from 30 to 20. Or to 15 since you can make the revolver but not the ammo for it at 15, which is stupid.

if the crafting level requirement for 9mm gets reduced that would just increase the amount of people script-whoring because

MAKING AMMO REQUIRES BRAINCELLS

I’m pretty sure the whole point of scrap weapons is that they’re not supposed to be strong or reliable weaponry. As for changing the ammo crafting, absolutely not. Ammo is supposed to be difficult to make or find. Realistically, if you live in the sewers as a rebel you should have barely any chance of finding the resources to make it.

if you want a good gun
dont use scrap guns. there's a reason people got them in the first few days: they're very weak

According to a couple of the devs, they couldn't find a way to change the ammo type when I pointed some stuff out before launch.

A buff to 20 wouldn't be a bad idea, but they're meant to be inaccurate. It's either this, making shots do a load of damage but only hit 1/4 of the time, or have S2RP where a roll below 75 means you missed your shot. No-one would agree with the S2RP one, and there was a glitch which pretty much did the hit chance thing in the stress test, which was reported as a bug quite a few times

-Reduce the revolver's strong adhesive requirement to 1.
Strong adhesive is really easy to get now.

40 credits, 2 rations worth of water, and 2 pieces of scrap plastic get you everything you need for 2 bottles
The only thing I really agree with here is making stuff like purifiers slightly easier to get, since I believe they're required in crafting ammo

I cant use my scrap gun at all because getting ammo is actually harder than getting the guns because this system is dumb.

So I can build a 357 magnum revolver out of garbage at level 15, but I need to double my levels and grind for three weeks to make the literal weakest ammo?

I'm not asking you guys to make scrap weapons god tier, I'm asking you to make them useable at all.

I'd wait until smuggling is added tbh

But yeah. Ammo should be a lower level for sure. It's not exactly meant to be easy to make, but I do agree that it's too hard.

I keep hearing about how great this smuggling system is gonna be and how its gonna fix a bunch of problems but we are told next to nothing about it or how it will work if its close to done or when it will be released
