BACKSTORY
Sophie Beckett was born on June 15th in the year 1996 to a Christian family. Born and raised in the French city of Marseille, she was a very healthy child, with seemingly no major health problems during, as well as after the pregnancy. After swiftly being enrolled into the French education system, she attended her first day of Preschool at the age of just 3. At the age of 5, she was just ready to attend her first day of Kindergarten, until tragedy struck - a research facility within the United States of America; dubbed the Black Mesa Research Facility revealed itself in the worst way they could. Portal storms began appearing all over the world, constantly sending extraterrestrial entities from the borderworld of Xen into the Planet. Her entire, bright future; her potential in the normal world, has been forever sabotaged. Her dreams were ruined, and her parents were unable to explain what exactly was happening; she didn't understand, and no one did. It was clear the portal storms weren't ending anytime soon - if at all. Much of the world's population was utterly devastated in what felt like a blink of an eye. Famine, quarantine, war, and disease ran rampant as emergency services stretched over their limit. The military forces' numbers were extremely low by now, and governmental bodies could never hope to recover. It didn't get any better, no matter how many people fought, prayed, or hoped. In mere hours, a catastrophic assault insinuated by the Combine occurs exactly as they had it coordinated. Synthetic Forces assaulted the planet, obliterating billions with no remorse or thought. After the surrender was managed by the Doctor himself, Sophie's family, alongside everyone else's was separated in the Combine-established Terminals around the earth. However - that wasn't the case for Sophie, and many other people, who were still under the age of 18. These were separated from people above that age, and after a while, placed into Education Centers dubbed ECHELON. Her first real step into the world began with her graduation from the center, after being taught fed with heavy and constant propaganda, about what was 'right' or 'wrong' for the Union. Everything that she has learned was hard to remember, though eventually, after finally being assigned and relocated to City-13, all the knowledge, seemingly didn't matter as much. She didn't know how to exactly socialize, she was just 'there'. Initially living in City-13's Dépotoir du 93ème, she had a very hard time adjusting, especially to the industrial conditions of the district. After two years, she has seemingly adjusted to the world as best as she could, though she still has a hard time socializing. She was relocated to City-13's Basse Ville, and also hired in the local Café of the district; the trouble with socializing seemingly went away over time. Her time in City-13 quickly came to an end though, when on March 25th, Sophie was relocated the City-24, specifically, the industrial district of the City. The transfer quickly ruined everything that he had worked on. Though regardless, she has quickly adjusted to the new life in the industrial district. She swiftly gained the Collaborator Tier of 3, and even found a job in the Civil Worker Union, where she was also quickly greeted with the position of Senior Worker after a not-so-lengthy time of working. Though, her time in the industrial city came to an end as quickly as it started, as well. After numerous deaths of high-value individuals the Combine has struck down with all its fury; killing everyone that showed even a hint of rebellion. On the night of the 14th of April, Sophie, alongside many other Citizens were relocated to a new City, until the relocation train broke down, which temporarily held them in the Entenlochklamm Valley, before their journey to City 8 continued. |

Jamie Makin
The 'Transitional Authority Foreman' within the Union, though I wish the rank was called something simpler. Either way, I admire him, and inspire to be like him one day. He recognizes the potential in people who are around him, and values the hard work performed by one. He is one of a few, who I would consider a very close friend, and also one of the first people I have met after my transfer from City Thirteen. Though, the incident in the Valley was still something I can never forget - not that I blame him for it.
Michael Yards
My closest friend within the City. I trust him with my life, both metaphorically and literally - he saved my life numerous times, if it's not cuts from Leggies, then it were Infestations, if it weren't those, then it was something else, yet he was always there to save the day. We need to chat one day, I'll happily get to know him better, but, he should be more careful as well, I always see him wrapped up in bandages and what-not. Ironic for this to come from me, but one day he should realize a little break from working wouldn't hurt, and would do good.
Samuel Lacrose
The (Fore)man that showed me around within the Civil Workers Union, and also the man that trained me for the Apprentice position within it. I consider him a close friend, and he most definitely also has my utmost respect. I thank him for also showing me around within the Engineering Division after my transfer, though, it would be good to see him around the Complex more often - or it's just me that hasn't been noticing him enough.
