This suggestion suggests that we speed up time and sync it with stormfox. It would be great to see the atmosphere change appropriately to the time of the ingame day while also having it within the confine of an average 3 hour play time session.

It's better than dedicating 6 real hours just to get from midnight to morning ingame.

Syncing real time with game time is really helpful in a huge number of ways. Having three hour days means every OOC day is eight IC days, so dating anything IC will be really difficult and hard to organize. You don't need to see every type of weather or time of day in a six hour play session, if you come back and play at a different time the time will be different, that's way cooler in my opinion. Syncing with Stormfox sounds cool, I just wouldn't know in detail how it works.

Currently is Stormfox synced with server machine time. So basically BST

Not helpful when you are for instance forced to roleplay where it is midnight for your session every time.

That's not any fun is it? The players instead ignore time as if it has no significance.

people have different IC schedules, i've always just roleplayed it. in my mind, you don't play 24 hours of the day because your character is probably sleeping and working a job in the other hours, and the time you play is just what you do in your free time. so if your character is only ever around between midnight and four am, just say they have weird shift that always fucks with their sleep schedule or something. it's not insurmountable, your character just has a schedule, same as you.

didn't CMs say that stormfox was 10x faster than irl time? It's definitely not 1:1 on the server rn.

It’s reasonable to assume that, if someone who has a life and job is playing, they will play for 4 hours if HL2RP is their main game for a night. Now I’m not saying a day cycle needs to be 4 hours, but 8 hours would be good, as one can say that they are roleplaying a specific part of a characters day.

That’s IF we need to change this. In the end, date and time isn’t that important for roleplay. Stuff will still happen regardless. Just adjust the time and day/night to fit a 4 hour time period.

It is a quality of life change to roleplay to get to see a a day and night cycle in your playtime.

It furthermore gives room for setting up rp scenarios to given time of the day.

For instance rebels want to attack during the night when it is dark, they wouldn't have to wait midnight real UK time just to have said roleplay scenario.

I've experienced days and nights between 0000 to 0600 IC time.

Something is funky with the sun.
