*Brief summary of the character: A captain in the Soviet Reclamation Forces. He is a true believer in their cause against the Combine occupation of Earth and functions as a sort of commissar as well, always making sure the enlisted men know what they're fighting for and that they're properly versed in modern Marxist-Leninist ideology.
*Why do you want to play this character?: I've already had experience playing someone in a leadership position in a rebel group for an event, similar circumstances and theme too. Seems there's some leadership positions still left open, so I'll make sure one of them is filled, and I hope to make a character who would be a good fit for this kind of faction.

- What position are you applying for? : Lieutenant
- a Detailed backstory of your character : Daniil Mayakovsky was born in St. Petersburg in 1984, and had gotten to witness the last days of the Soviet Union at it's worst under Gorbachev, as well as it's downfall. During his formative years in the 90s post-breakup, he grew to resent people like Boris Yeltsin, Gorbachev and their ilk, for making a very miserable existence for people in Russia and the other ex-Soviet states due to the economic shock therapy and mass privatization initiated by them. He would at one point acquire an assortment of Marxist literature, and begin immersing himself in communist theory, dialectical and historical materialism, reading from authors including Marx and Engels themselves all the way to Mao Zedong.
When the Resonance Cascade occured and the Earth was dealing with the portal storms, Daniil was conscripted into the Russian Internal Troops to provide a defense of the city from Xenian wildlife, often being made to go on expeditions beyond the city to actively hunt the alien wildlife as well. Over time, he'd gain much military and combat experience, managing to get promoted to an NCO after a while.
- One day, an alien empire known as the Combine invaded the Earth, and conquered all of humanity in a span of only 7 hours. Daniil's unit was among those who was called in to fight them. He had made an effort to fight the invading forces in the city itself, though the Combine proved far too powerful after the first few hours, and Daniil's unit would eventually surrender. After the war, Daniil was made into a citizen of the Combine and relocated to City 3, Moscow, where he would eventually meet with the Soviet Reclamation Forces and their infiltrators in the city. He joined them without hesitation, seeing them as the best hope of resistance against the Combine as well as the best chance of establishing a communist society in the post-war Earth should the Combine be removed. He served them for many years, eventually reaching the rank of Lieutenant, due to his knowledge of Marxist theory, his undying commitment to the cause, and distinction during his service in the Third Army on the Moscow front.
- After many years on the front, he would one day be given a special assignment. The Combine have been making unusual movement patterns, and Marshal Borisovich believes there may be more activity in Volgograd, known as Stalingrad to the SRF forces and to Daniil himself. He has been assigned to an expedition to move from Moscow to Stalingrad, serving as a squad commander for a portion of the forces heading there. The Third Army hopes to establish a new HQ in Stalingrad, to allow for more ground to be covered in the war against the Combine and the national liberation of Earth from their grasp.

Perhaps, he had gotten ahead of himself in describing his grand fantasies as the Major of his very own fifty-man army, leading the most glorious suicidal charge into the depth of Stalingrad, where Russians or merely Communists go to die for the cause of a Motherland beyond them - In reality, Zakhar Egorov is the Captain, second to the Major, his esteemed bag-holder, boot polisher. A nice spit-shine away from perhaps his greatest field promotion.
Long has Zakhar dreamt of the grandest position a man could be bestowed in the Soviet Army, in charge of his own men, leading frontline into battles - a rush he had only felt in his very real efforts with the Soviets, establishing a revolutionary commune in Spanish lands, Asian Isles and everywhere inbetween in the grand land of Eurasia - he is a man adorned with many a ribbon, star, titles of valor.
Yet, these beastly affair have failed to satisfy him, he had a poor upbringing his Russia, a man raised with nothing yet longed for everything, the moment the Reclamation Effort had taken off he was but a poor farmer for a small Union settlement - yet aroused and inspired his fellow laborers and fought bravely, or so he tells, liberating them from mere volunteer loyalist gestapos using their work tools to kill them. And establish a foothold, for which a soviet army came around to taking them under as a fighting force, and promoting the man to grandeur there, to which he replied with his many efforts.
Zakhar is not a man to be mistempered, his work colors him a hero - but he is a brash beast, ever-plotting. He had killed his own field commander in his time with Spaniards and only avoided punishment for his heroism in leading the Spanish workers to communist idealogy and the war front. Having slashed the man in his back with an old sabre for disallowing Egorov free reign to move in and rally non-combatants as volunteer soldiers.
His war-time practices, strategies and efforts are under great question, for, he is not a conventional man, not at all, it is extremely true, he HAS led men to their death in the name of glory in form of photography and paintings depicting the charge - he isn't renowned too much for bravery there as he is thanked by the artist community for inspiration, only saved from certain death by a brave few soldiers who wrestled him into a trench before mortar shell blew him up.
He is known to be a trouble-maker, rallying men to his own causes and efforts, establishing his own plans. He's only made it this far because his efforts nigh always work, of course, with great casualties. Where's the best place to send a man to repeat the curses and sins, inherit that of his forefathers?
Stalingrad.
Where Russians went to die, with or without a gun, bravely charging enemies with nothing but some rounds to load in the first weapon they could grab off a dead brother. The breeding place for heroes and martyrs. Where his song will be sung, his ballad will come true - Zakhar Egorov, hero of the Spanish and Asian communes, comes alive. Captain, vying for Major, by any damn means. Enlisting him into this position is bound to be a point of conflict, a debated decision - ultimately, there's faith he'll do good. Just how he goes about it, is up in the air.

*Brief summary of the character: A conflicted Chechen freedom fighter serving under an army of rebels he can't fully trust, but which are his only hope of a victory against the almighty Combine enemies who destroyed his homeland.
*Why do you want to play this character?: I'd really prefer if the SRF wasn't such a cliché communist Russian rebel faction so I want to make a good example about what kind of character stories you could bring into it to make it less bland.

- a Detailed backstory of your character:
- Saitiev has fought his whole life. Ever since he could hold a rifle, the Chechen soldier has seen combat against everything the world threw at his warlike people: Russians, portal storms, alien fauna... and now Combine soldiers.
Saitiev was part of several minor rebel groups in the region before 2018, always deciding to leave in favor of searching for a faction that pushed the fight against the Combine in a more proactive, direct way. His people did not have the luxury of patience, they would either be liberated as soon as possible, or they would die out.
- While hardly interested in the politics of the SRF, and suspicious of the Russians making up most of its ranks, Saitiev considered his hopes for the liberation of his homeland would be impossible without the greater numbers and equipment of the Soviet Forces. For now, they haven't given him any reasons to go against their orders and desert, but the possibility is always in his mind should the war go sideways for them.
Now, after being promoted, Saitiev aims to take the next step for a free Chechnya and the fight against the latest opressor of his people. He cannot fail.

*Brief summary of the character: A young man in his early 20's Recruited by the SRF to defend his Motherland. He was raised by a single mother in Moscow for most of his life, fatherless. Conflict is all he has ever known in the post Combine occupied world, but only recently has decided to do something about it. The SRF seems to be the only way out of this normal life of his. But will that be for the good of him, or will he regret this path of war? Only time will tell.

As he was sent to the front lines at Stalingrad, Ivan was filled with a mixture of fear and determination. The fighting there was fierce and brutal, with the Germans and Soviets locked in a desperate battle for control of the city. Igor was assigned to a unit that was tasked with holding the line against the relentless German attacks.
Day after day, he and his comrades fought with all their might enduring extreme cold, hunger, and fatigue. Despite being vastly outnumbered and outgunned, the Soviet soldiers refused to give up. They knew that the fate of the war rested on the outcome of the battle for Stalingrad, and they were determined to hold their ground at all costs. Igor fought bravely, using all of his strength and courage to fend off the enemy. He saw many of his friends fall in battle, but he never wavered in his resolve.

*Brief summary of the character: Born in 1985, in Volgograd, to a KGB (Later FSS) Agent and a secretary, he was brought up pledging allegiance to his country and holding his main beliefs and values as the security and sanctity of his land. As soon as he came to the legal age to join, 17, he joined the Russian Armed Forces, passing selection to become Spetsnaz. A year later, the Combine would invade his planet and his country would fall to the Alien invaders, despite his attempts to stop this alongside his fellow team members, who mostly died. Begrudgingly, he allowed it to happen, seeing that these new creatures were equipped with far greater technologies then they had. He laid in wait for a way to fight back against these oppressive forces, and jumped at the talk of a rebellion; the Soviet Reclamation Force. He quickly found his way to them and enlisted. Now at the rank of private, he is eager to take back his country for the people, and return his country to its former glory.
