Stigma on the search system.

The current system we have in place in Willard regarding searches is robotic and unfair.

The searching system consists of someone performing a single /me of "searches the person everywhere" and then forcing the script player search command against them; if they were to refuse (by pressing no), it's considered as resisting in-character, yet there is no roleplay behind it.

The issue that I've seen crop up, and on repeated occasions, is that if someone wishes to conceal something, they're not able to without having to go through this forced character search, where someone merely has to type a single line to cover an entire person's property and can see everything on them. Which is low-effort and generally not enjoyable.

Given that our rules are similar to GTA World, they should be revisited to include having to search for a person in a particular area rather than a cover-all basis interaction. If they consent to the script-based search (Their version of /rob), this would negate the NPC-like interactions and allow for more city-based criminal activity.

It's such a small change that'll have such a big impact, considering how tightly packed we are with citizens and slumizans.

That’s why when you get Level 50 smuggling you unlock the 2x2 “Prison Pocket” that requires a special kind of search.

Ok? - Strawman argument.

Not what I was saying, what-so-ever. Read the main post.

More in-depth mechanics are always welcome.

The script-based search option could also make sure mass searches during Apartment Raids and CWU Workshifts wouldn't become too tedious with the hypothetical improved specific area searches.

My only question would be how this could be done with the current inventory system. Asides from that, I suppose it would make searches more interesting instead of just typing a /me and a /charsearch on repeat for the 50th billion time.

In large quantity settings, with numerous people who consent to that style of search, it's fine.

This is more focused on the individual(s), who is stopped in the street.

You're instantly suggesting that the idea of concealing something means shoving it up your backside.

No, that's not the case.

No, what im saying is, Cops will search you through and through, you are not a criminal, you do not know all the tips and tricks into hiding things, Some things may work against some people but brother let me tell you, cops especially in a 1984 esq universe will NOT hold back on searching you. Pretty Ironic that you clearly didnt read my thing through or atleast didnt understand it tbh tho not understanding it wouldnt be ironic. Also one more thing suggest a place on your body that you are thinking of hiding something and I will see how discreet it is and how much knowledge you have on the art of hiding things.

This isn't a thread about why people are being searched; it's about how they're being searched with next-to-no effort. Your straw-manning this to high-hell for absolutely no reason.

Also one more thing suggest a place on your body that you are thinking of hiding something and I will see how discreet it is and how much knowledge you have on the art of hiding things.

Anywhere. You can hide things anywhere on your person.

You are complaining about a lack of RP and complaining about the lack of RP here but you mention how someone can cover your entire body with one /me and how that isnt enjoyable and how it is low effort. You also bring up the fact that they can see everything you hold on you and you do present that as a bad thing correct me if I'm wrong.
city-based criminal activity.
However when presenting pros you say this, how will searching with effort improve this? How will a longer /me improve this. And yet again that oh so great irony, I wasnt talking about why people are being searched I am talking about how people are searched and combatting the idea that YOU yourself suggested/hinted at when bringing up the pros of this little complaint, cmon bro argue a little harder.

And yes you CAN hide things anywhere on your person however, you can only do that to a certain extent and when the cops you are up against are the most brutal and most thorough there isnt really that many places on your body that you can hide shit. Unless you place it in your anal cavity which I think is profoundly retarded and down right bad RP.

Why do you have to keep bringing up sticking objects up your ass?
Because thats the only thing willard player brains can connect tbh, if it is so quirky and funny and cool then they wont understand

This is irrelevant. Rather than force your presumptuous and arbitrary standards of what Civil Protection are, let the roleplay speak for themselves. If Civil Protection are as brusque and thorough as you claim, then they should be capable of describing that in their roleplay.

Also again, quit attempting to force your frivolous and contradictory standards onto people's roleplay. It undermines the integrity of character-writing and roleplay itself to be so assuming and stringent on what a person can and cannot be. If someone wants to roleplay as a criminal, an experience that most people will undergo in their lifetime at-least once; let them be, and stop forcing your standards onto others.

Your asinine choice of reasoning undermines the integrity of this suggestion through digressive rants and straw man fallacies.

One constructive feedback I will add is that while this suggestion is good for roleplay, I feel as though it will perpetuate opportunities for power game for both the searcher and the searched. Not only does it create monotonous roleplay which frankly, isn't necessary; it also significantly lengthens frisking times for all parties involved, something which will undoubtedly have people favouring the simple search mechanic.

As opposed to reflecting it in Willard policy, perhaps simply encouraging this method of roleplay in conjunction with the rolling system would be more suitable as a compromise and be much more time conserving for the parties involved.

Yes, so rebels can grammar nazi their way out of a situation and cause themselves even more problems, just what we all want. ".//Uhmm you actually ditn search my back????"

I am not forcing my standards, I am forcing the worlds standards and setting. You are malnourished, an average joe trying to make a story for himself, you are you in real life but worse. This is in no way frivolous or contradictory, people may write their characters but holy shit it really really does get out of hand like bro just play city RP. If someone being a hardcore war vet whos super strong and cool is wrong then surely being an expert smuggler from prison who can smuggle things past 1984 police officers should be a bit of a flag too.

Which part of my argument is strawmanning?

significantly lengthens frisking times
Tragic, literal /me wars
