OOC DETAILS

This will be a three day event spanning over a weekend. Submergence does not take place in The HL2 Universe but instead the SCP Universe. This will be a more narrative based event with exploration across an anomalous world. There are no major restrictions for any of the backstories so go nuts, you can make your character a little bit anomalous if you'd like (please don't go overpowered).

As with all Short Story events I will be expecting HIGH quality applications that are serious and well wrote as there are limited slots for this event. I hope you all enjoy. 😊

*Character Name: Howard Dinkley
*Role you're applying for: Researcher
*Brief summary of Character: An overly cautious scientist sent along with the others to test the properties of this unnatural world, and, ideally, survive the ordeal.
*Character Backstory:
Cautious....This is the word that best describes Professor Howard S. Dinkley. One of the countless scientists around the globe contracted by the illusive SCP foundation to study objects and creatures that threaten the normalcy upon which our world relies. Like his peers he is among the top of his respective field, his being biology and organic materials, and like them he has sworn to secrecy anything he does as a part of his job. Yet, there is more to this scientist than just another face...

While the beginning of Howard's life is unremarkable, going through the motions of childhood and adolescence and the various events associated with, what happened after would be more unique. After several years of respectable work at a government-funded research institution, Howard's life would be flipped upside down after an initially benign assignment turned into something he had never expected. A never-before-seen creature that defied all known laws of science, an impressive feat, since the room it had emerged from was full of the facility's top biologists, would make itself known without warning, (later Foundation analysis suggests the creature was infact a Juvenile example of SCP-[REDACTED] which had evaded capture during a nearby containment operation, and had stowed away on a sample meant for analysis, where it was subsequently encountered)

The following was a blur, men equipped with combat gear and firearm's busting down the door, the screams of his coworkers, unearthly shrieks from a dying creature...When it had settled, Howard had been one of 3 survivors of the room of 15 scientists. Given the coincidental nature of the facilities purpose and the occupation of it's inhabitants, a deviation in protocol was offered to the three survivors, either accept a job in their respective field for the mystery men's mysterious employers, or take an amnestic, be sent off, and forget the whole ordeal. His two remaining coworkers took the latter, apparently eager to return to normal life, yet Howard chose the other. While rightfully horrified at the encounter that he had just narrowly survived, he couldn't deny his deep desire to know more, perhaps an extension of his innate human curiosity? Regardless, He made his choice, and was escorted into a helicopter.

The following years would prove Howard's usefulness to the foundation, the cautious scientist, perhaps mildly scarred from his encounter (Despite an offer for low grade amnestics, Subject refused the offer in order to "Remember them") would mix with the already present foundation personnel quite well. His background in biology additionally proved to be a boon to various projects, particularly in classifying several new SCP's whose physical familiarity to terrestrial fauna proved a perfect jumping point for future research. While he never forgot his roots, Howard grew to enjoy his new workplace.

It has been 5 years since his "Hiring" by the foundation. He has been assigned to a new project, the details of which have for the moment, been hidden (Details on project to be given upon arrival to AREA-354), but are likely to involve his background in biology. He doesn't know what the future holds...and he's a little worried.

*Brief summary of Character: A 5'1 engineer. They were accepted due to their history, and ability to fit into small places. They are a rude engineer, and seemingly do not like to be 'barked' orders persay.
*Character Backstory:
Sigurour Jon, born XX/XX/XXXX age XX. They are a Icelandic male, of 5'1. They gained the nickname 'Dwarf', due to having a big beard. Which seemed to be a iconic feature of them. They learned engineering from their father, wishing to keep the family tradition of labor such as this running. They were offered a job due to their name being pulled, they were not told much of the facility. And were kept in Level 1 - 2 clearance areas. Any higher required not only documents but supervision. After 3 years of working there, they were sent to SCP - 079's containment. The doors were unresponsive, this is when Sigurour Jon found out the secrets of the facility, this meant he had to sign a document. Reading.
"You are not allowed outside of the facility unless permitted, leaking any files regarding the SCP foundation will be met with violent force. Do you agree to the terms?"
|Sigurour Jon
This, of course was just a 'important' piece of it. Putting it all here would be to long. Sigurour Jon, not ever leaving the facility. Seeing no reason to, stuck to what they did best. Till on XX/XX/XXXX, their name was pulled to go into AREA-354, not knowing anything of it. Other then a '
Red Crimson Lake', which did not sit right for Jon.

*Character Name: Carter Gray
*Role you're applying for: GAMMA-6 Agent
*Brief summary of Character: A former United States Seal, turned MTF Operative for GAMMA-6. His training in the Navy Seals made him an ideal candidate for GAMMA-6, so he took up the task for this special taskforce with pride.
*Character Backstory:

1674981842724.png
Carter Gray, Pictured in [REDACTED]

Carter Gray was once a proud member of the United States Navy SEALs, but after years of serving his country in some of the most dangerous conflicts around the world, he was approached by a mysterious organization known only as the SCP Foundation.

The SCP Foundation tasked him with becoming an MTF (Mobile Task Force, specifically GAMMA-6) Operative, tasked with containing and neutralizing anomalous objects and entities that pose a threat to the world. His specialized training in the Navy Seals made him the ideal candidate for the job of this new under-water task force. Gray was skeptical at first, but after learning about the various otherworldly entities the SCP Foundation had contained and the dangerous threats they posed to humanity, he felt a sense of duty to protect the world and accepted the offer.

As an MTF Operative, Carter was thrown into a world beyond his imagination, filled with creatures and objects beyond belief. Despite the danger, he proved to be a skilled and fearless operative, tackling each mission with the same discipline and precision that had made him a valuable asset to the Navy SEALs.

One mission in particular stood out to Carter - the containment of SCP-3000, a nearly indestructible entity under the waters of [REDACTED]. Its purpose was unknown to him at the time due to even his clearance. Despite the danger, Carter and his team were able to successfully contain SCP-3000 and prevent it from causing any further damage, and unbeknownst to him, benefit the Foundation in ways Carter could only dream of.

After years of serving as an MTF Operative for GAMMA-6, Carter had seen things that most people could only imagine in their worst nightmares. However, he took pride in the fact that he had helped to protect the world from these threats. Despite the danger and the constant fear that came with his job, Carter knew that he was doing something important and that he was making a difference in the world. He was proud to be a part of the SCP Foundation and to be protecting the world from the dangers that lay beyond our understanding.

*Brief Summary of Character:
Sammy Marsh, a mysterious orphan who showed up at the steps of the recently opened monastery in Sweden, Visby. With no signs or clues to whose child it was, the monks and nuns took the role upon themselves to raise the child by God, seeing it as God's sign...

*Character's Backstory:
"It began on 1350, the Black Death, the greatest of "Deaths" had struck Sweden-wide. Better known as the plague, it was a catastrophic event - worldwide and within Sweden. It ended up killing a third of Sweden's population, recovery was not until hundreds and hundreds of years after the simple year lasting event took place. Such a event for Sweden was detrimental; with many falling ill and dying. No catastrophe could be worse, right...?

On 1987, the 9th month of the calendar on the 29th day as the clock strikes 00:00, the shouts of "FIRE!" was heard throughout the village, however, only the ones in Monastery seemed to have been alerted, with the rest of the town being sound asleep. The monastery was alerted, the monks and nuns rushing towards the gate... "We must help the town and pray for our well-being!", as the group walked out of the gates; there was no fire; there was no smoke; there was only a crescent moon, ominous clouds and the moonlight. And as they all look around in awe, the town was sound asleep and beneath their feet was a basket wrapped and covered by cloth. A monk took the cloth off... As the wrapped cloths soon came undone, a small baby was revealed. No crying, no movement, eyes wide open staring straight. The group took the now identified baby-orphan into the monastery and set the basket down on a long dining table within the cellars of the monastery.

"Who left their child at our steps?", "Where was the fire?", "Is there even a fire?". Questions left unanswered, answers left unknown. The inhabitants of the monastery knew one thing, this must've been a gift from... God, their one and only - this conclusion came to it when the shouts of there being a 'Fire' was not heard by anyone but themselves. Quickly unwrapping the baby from its poorly and worn diaper, they wrapped it up as they didn't have the suitable clothing for it at the moment. The monks leaving the baby with the nuns, they went and cried to god that night, "Oh, our lord, what is the meaning behind this?", "Oh, our lord, what do you ask of us to do with this child?". A moment of silence as each monk prayed and prayed in unison of questions they all thought and wanted, no, needed answers for. There was no immediate response. "There is no reason." One of the monks rush to the others, "I heard the voice of God, he has told me that this baby is a gift directly for him and that it is our duty to look after this beautiful, baby boy." Of course, the monk lied about the response to the others, he kept telling himself he 'misheard' it or it was 'all in his mind'.

The nuns and other returning monks lit up with a gleam of hope, they spread the news amongst the monastery in a matter of minutes. Making sure every living ear in the monastery heard the news, "God sent us a message in the form of a baby boy!" As the news spread to every inch of the monastery, the monks and nuns catered to the baby and set it rightfully asleep in a spare cot within one of the senior nun's rooms. The dawn rises and the crack of the morning, the news spread. The monks and nuns begin to go to the town taverns, square, markets and soon it spread all over the town. This child wasn't seen as a prophet, a lord, a god, nothing of the sorts. But rather a divine treasure sent by the heavens. Shortly after, the monks and nuns catered to the baby day in and day out, often bringing the child or showcasing it as if it really was a materialistic object, a 'treasure' to have. On a peculiar Wednesday, a letter was found at the step of the monasteries inner-courtyard entrance. Thirst thoughts from the nun who found it was, "Letters don't end up there..." Opening the letter she could only think of how it ended up there, but nevertheless, she read its contents... "Samson Marsh." "Samson Marsh." Two voices spoke in the nun's mind, one she's familiar with and one not so much. The letter only having two words, twelve letters and three syllables - the nun knew what it meant. A hour later there would be a gathering at the same dining table the basket was first set on amongst the nuns and monks of the monastery, "Samson Marsh." The name of this baby boy would be declared Samson Marsh, after the nun explained her reasonings, few disapproved of the name but the majority won anyways. The name of the boy is now Samson Marsh, with only a few objections and majority for.

Three years go by, Sammy is guessed to be three years old by now - when they found him, it wasn't obvious to when his real birthday was, making his founding date his birthday. A few weeks after his initial third year of living, Sammy would soon be found in the courtyard. A nun approached him, getting Sammy ready for a morning seminar, "Sammy, over here." No response, Sammy didn't turn around nor did he make any noticeable movements, "Sammy, come on over my dear boy." No response. It was strange, so the old nun walked on over and glanced at what was beneath Sammy's feet, her facial expression dropped by each hundredths of a millisecond to the point where she let out a shriek, "Sammy, are you alright?" The boy stared at the gutted fox corpse beneath his feet, specks of blood on his shirt, the corpse of the fox was unseamed from its nave to its chops. The cutting was fine, quite skilful is what the report stated by the town sheriffs. The nun had ended up calling the sheriffs for help, in fear that it may be a threat to the monastery or even Sammy himself. A official report was filed out and many butchers across the town were questioned and some shadier ones even interrogated... Days went by and the case was soon after left unmaintained; neither closed nor active. The last filed report for the case stated that there is no suspect of interest left on the list for the case, leaving the case in cold waters.

From an early age, Sammy was pampered, it was obvious with how obsessive the town monastery was over him and how he was a divine treasure sent by the almighty one. Sammy was also kept away from social contact with everyone else completely, the only times he saw anything else but nuns and monks were when he attended sermons hosted by the monastery. He was isolated but treated well, yet he ended up questioning loads of things around the age of five, when he first began education. Every day he got up early to learn something new but his education always started off with long, long hours of religious education, specifically Christianity. But beyond religious education; he first learnt maths and with maths soon after came English and Latin; after that he started learning how to perform the bare minimum: cleaning, washing up, etc. Sammy didn't live the most fulfilling life and he was kept dark about his origination, in fact he was told his parents were always with him but he never really was told 'where' or 'who'. Of course, the incident when he was three years old too, no one knows what really happened except Sammy but Sammy seems to not remember but has a nightmare, a dream about the same thing over and over again since that day. Blood on his hands, specks of blood on his shirt and the fox carcass - those being the only clues, the nightmares carried on...

As time goes by, Sammy gets older and more wonderous. At the age of 8, after his conservation has had quite the proper development to it, he asks to himself during a private prayer in his chambers, "
Do I have parents?" "No." Two different voices, two similar voices, both within his head, one controlled, one not so much. This sudden response to his question arose a feeling of fear within Sammy, quite literally raising his hair and giving him goosebumps, in fear, he asks, "Who are you?" No response, he was imagining things. The 2am prayer is finished off and Sammy goes back to bed. As dawn rises, a nun enters Sammy's room which follows with a loud scream of horror. Fellow nuns and monks alike rush to the scream, from Sammy's room comes loud prayers of frightened forgiveness and rebuke. As the door creaks open, the window is left open, Sammy is in the corner huddled to himself and inside his room lies a pig carcass with blood spread over the walls and the sign of anti-christ, the blood on the walls read, "Samson Marsh", "Samson Marsh", "Oh, the blooded Samson Marsh." The sheriffs are called and a case starts once more. The crimes are as listed, "Breaking & Entering X1, Trespassing X1, Animal Cruelty X2, Threat to Kill X1". This new case was linked with the old case and forensic science started to have a play in it, in hopes of catching the suspect. Whilst the forensic side was on going, the sheriffs interrogated prime suspects like butchers and surgeons, with a shady history or those who are nearest to the area. Interrogation and questioning leads to no where, only forensics can be counted on now.

Weeks go by since the incident and the chamber Sammy slept in before was cleaned out and shut off only for use by the monks and nuns, it has been marked devilish, pagan territory, heresy but more over a room demons have entered. Sammy was kept far away from 'that' room and he was silent for those past weeks and when forensics came in, there was no hope as it hadn't helped them one bit. Forensics failed to match any prime suspects or anyone else with a criminal record, leaving this case in a dead end once more. These past two cases have been wonderous and quite frightening; to think someone can enter a house of worship so easily and go unnoticed, Sammy refuses to talk about who it might've been or what he saw that day but others think he saw nothing and was asleep during the incident, whatever it may be, the answers are left uncovered...

Not much happens during Sammy's eight years of age till eleven, from here on out it was more blank and casual. Sammy has gone fully mute ever since 'that day' and has responded through written notes, rarely using signs for his language. These past three years have simply been Sammy furthering his education but another change implemented was that Sammy no longer takes part in seminars, with the monks in fear for his safety, they keep him completely away from any possible social contact with absolutely anyone other than those within the monastery.

And at the age of 11, the eleventh month, on the eleventh day and on the eleventh midnight hour, the screams and shouts would echo throughout the monastery, yet silent on the outside. This day marked the "Deafening Silence Day Massacre." As the name suggests, it was a day of chaos within the monastery but most importantly a night that was loud yet silent. When the monastery was due for a morning sermon and their gates was left unattended, locked and closed; people could only wonder what's going on. And as a week goes by, people start realising they haven't seen a single nun or monk and that this new weeks sermon still has not been hosted. A reaction spurs with one man, a man who makes his way into the monastery after climbing and walks through the courtyard till he gets to a door that leads to a hall - a putrid scent led him there. The man grabbing onto the handle, the door was... Not opening, putting a little more force and a few pushes - it opened. As the door creaked wide open and the man stumbled in; he ran right back out and away, frightened. He left the monastery and ran right to the town sheriffs, he was holding himself from vomiting. Upon the man arriving at the sheriffs station and reporting what he saw, ambulances were called and the sheriffs headed to the monastery as the scared man was left in a Deputy's office chair with First-Responders tending to him.

"O, horror, horror, horror! Most sacrilegious murder hath broke ope the Lord’s anointed temple, and stole thence the life o’ th’ building!"

The sheriffs arrive at the monastery and force their ways through the gates. After the long walk to the left open door of the hall, sweat drips down one of the Deupty's forehead. Out of the four deputies, one takes the lead and walks up to the darkness emitting of the hall. As he came closer; he poked his head inside... Bodies, bodies, bodies! "What the fuck!?" spoke out the sheriff. There were remains of five total bodies in that room or even more, it was uncountable at the time due to the absolute mess the hall was in. One nun was gutted from their neck to their belly and back, with their insides left hanging else where. Another nun's half was stuck between the doorway with the door shut on the half, keeping it barely upright, her upper half? Most likely the one hanging off the altar. One of the three monks was laid flat on one of the pews. His whole body was covered by multiple dirty cloths as if he went through surgery, the cloth was left untouched by the deputies, fearing in their imaginations what could've happened to the poor man. A few of the deputies couldn't go on further from here, however, only one had walked out of the hall for now and left the other three to continue in the hall. The second monk was nailed to the window seals as if it was meat drying, his insides were left untouched but his skin was hacked away, and his arms and legs revealed not only flesh but bones as well, maybe some of the meat or fat was cut off? And the final monk was sitting all the way at the back of the wall, with his back to the wall. The large cross that would be all the way the back was cut off in half and badly screwed and hammered onto the back of the monk. His neck was sliced open and his eyes were nowhere to be seen. Of course, it's been some time till their deaths but before any forensics arrived, a guess could be a week. Most of the internal organs exposed or laying about have begin decomposing and the bodies began turning greenish, some stank a more abhorrent smell compared to the other corpses.

The sheriffs stopped going any further, this obviously wasn't all the monks and nuns, but they refused to go any further till more deputies showed up, forensics as well as the top dogs. Hours go by and when a full team of forensics arrive, with more deputies and a few detectives, things kick off. The whole perimeter of the monastery was shut down and journalists just could not wait to get a piece of this! Everyone could only wonder, "What might've happened?" However, they are left in the dark, for now. Moving on, as the full team of law enforcement move in to the monastery, they begin scoping out every room, every corner... More bodies came uncovered, more organs and more missing parts unknown to where they might be. A message would soon be uncovered, written big and bold in blood and in one of the rooms on the wall with a drained body below it, "The past does not leave." Read out the written scripture. Forensics took all types of samples from the scene, pictures and began marking the bodies and any possible evidence. As the monastery soon came checked to every cranny and corner, there would only be 1 room remaining. A secluded room; a room that was originally shut off by the monastery staff; a room that was marked off, locked and boarded. However, the wooden boards laid on the ground with the nails besides it, the handle and the lock of the door forcefully broken off and the taping ripped off the corners of the doorway. As the forensics man opened the door and slowly entered to the ominous room... There was nothing, the room was empty, however, the window was left wide open. The forensics man began checking the room till a glimpse caught his eye, a finger poking out from under the bed and as he gets on his knees to check what's under, he gives himself a scare as a little child looked at him in scare.

Deputies were called to the room and Sammy was promptly rushed out of the monastery, out of the room and far away from any of the horrible sights he might have or might have not seen. Weeks went by and this soon became the biggest case for such a not the biggest of towns. The case even ended up in other jurisdictions, departments constantly fighting over it. However, the case was left in a dead end, weeks of waiting for forensics only to get no matching result. Prime suspects dwindled down as each had an alibi of their own, the case was left cold... And so were the public. Such a massacre has not hit the news; in fear of giving people a scare, so they kept quiet about it and shut the monastery down with a fake excuse. The man who originally found such a sight had gone missing the same day he reported what he saw, hours after he left the sheriffs station, no word was ever heard from him again and he simply became one of the many missing posters in Sweden.

Sammy himself was questioned, but due to him being mute, he wrote what he 'saw' that night... Nothing. The only thing he reported were the screams, shouts and cries of the monks and nuns as well as a large bang at the door that was originally shut off. As Sammy rushed to that door, he said the boards were broken off, the window creaked open and as he walked inside, there was nothing there. Sammy was also asked how he survived a week without food or water, no response was given for that question but instead skipped and forgotten about. Eventually, there were no further questions left for Sammy, so he waited at the station for a while before he was finally given off to social services. He was immediately put in foster care and from his previous pampered life, he ended up in a trailer park and in a trailer with a man who started up a new business, "Jerry Co. Butchers". The man's name was 'Jerry' and he would be the new guardian of Sammy or Samson Marsh formally. Sammy was left uneducated now, instead, Jerry had wanted him to do chores and what not while he was out working in his newly opened business; a small price to pay for a roof over his head and food in his belly. Fortunately, Sammy was not that spoiled.

And as time went by, the usual schedule for Sammy was waking up at 2am for a prayer, something that stuck with him ever since he lived in the Monastery, which then he went back to sleep. Shortly after, he woke up again at 6:30AM and began the list of chores that would be left on the counter by Jerry as Jerry left for work at 6 sharp. Throughout the hours Sammy had, he did his chores, had a break and catered to himself. By the time Jerry came back, Sammy began learning more about butchering, more about cutting and knives. This type of education for him was preparation for free labour at Jerry's business. Right now, this newly opened business by Jerry needed employees and he also needed money and to fix both problems... Why not train and hire your foster son without pay? A good idea at the time, a fantastic one. Saving costs while making the absolute maximum amount of money - a true capitalist Jerry was. Hence only after a week, Sammy was all trained in Jerry's eyes; no practical exam to even solidify it or see if he can even be a worthwhile butcher. And at the age of 13; Sammy was hired into the Butchers shop, however, to prevent authorities from putting a stop to the business, he was kept in the back where he butchered creatures, hanged them up or did kiddish duties customers wouldn't report, like mopping up or cleaning.

A millennia has gone by, woo! The 2000s! Celebrations all over the country, even in the town and at the Butchers shop! What a time to be alive and what a fearful time for Sammy as hallucinations incurred everywhere. Fireworks turning into bangs of blood in the sky, shouts of the people turning into the screams emitted from the monastery in the past and at entrance of the butchers shop was a unseamed pig from its nave to its chops, what a time to be alive for Samson Marsh...

"
You're real good at this, kiddo." Is what Jerry said to Sammy, no response, like the usual. A mix of feelings mustered up in Sammy, whether or not he should be proud of what he was doing, however, it seemed he really did have a knack for it as the creatures he butchered were butchered good, not perfect but good for his age and good to be presented and sold. This carried on and on, everyday Sammy got up to do what he questioned ethically. "It's not wrong, it's just right for you." And each passing day, he dreamt of the same thing he has for years, bloodied hands and a large knife covered by the darkness in the dream, a knife not uncovered, yet. The passing days soon unveiled that Sammy has been progressively getting better and his butchering skills soon matched previous incidents, of course, Sammy played it off - and Jerry had not a clue of such details. Playing it off got harder progressively though, each passing day more questions arose and the butchering got similar as well. The previous incident's police cases soon interlinked as well, yet no clue to further it on for now or uncover its truth. The falsity of Sammy's mind wins, completely forcing his own mind to forget such minute details. The main clause for it was his memories overlapping and mixing it in with his body memory to recreate the events of the past.

As Sammy hits the age of 16, he soon becomes a noticeable part-timer at Jerry's Butcher shop. He was now eligible to be employed without any possible trouble incurring and able to do much more than he did, during this year, a young woman was hired into the shop as well. It was Jerry's niece, she was being paid while Sammy was not. A little bit of jealously and hate spurred up in Sammy, though nothing to go crazy about; just something most would feel if they were in Sammy's shoes...

In 2003, on the 11th months of the year, on the 11th day and on the 11th morning hour of the day, Jerry and his niece were at the shop, all that was left for attendance was Sammy. And as the clock struck 10:50am, Sammy entered the butchers shop. In the next 10 minutes was the longest, most terrifying, most loudest yet deafening moment ever. It was a moment to be remembered, a moment revitalizing from the events of 1998, on the 11th month, 11th day and 11th hour. Screams and shouts echoed in the butchers shop and blood wreaked over the walls and stained glass panes. As the clock struck 11:00am, a customer walked in, ignorant of the blood stained panes. The door did not open until force was applied and when the door opened... A body slushed out of the way of the door, the noises of bones moving, meat slushing around and organs slipping out ever so slow. The body of Jerry's niece slanted over the door, the customer immediately backed away and fell on his bottom. Ring, ring, ring, sheriffs were called and they mobilized in just a minute. Three sheriffs at the scene, two deputies and a single supervisor. One deputy took care of the scarred-for-life man while the other two approached the slightly opened door of the butchers shop - the blood stained panes quickly taking a pique of their interest. The supervisor took the lead and as the door opened more and more, the body blocking it soon slanted right over till it landed on its belly and the guts, organs squished, making pretty disgusting sounds. And when they finally took a glance inside, there was blood all over the walls, the niece was missing two arms, possibly a few organs too. Jerry... Well, Jerry was no where to be seen, yet. But there was a manly looking hand grasping a knife, the knife was stuck to a chopping board but rest of the body was nowhere to be seen, for now - it was only the hand grasping the knife. The supervisor and the following deputy gagged as they walked through, the supervisor told the following deputy to go out and get support here, immediately. "Go.. Shit! Get the forensics and detectives... Blegh... now..." Holding his nose, the supervisor ventured through the shop, not seeing anymore bodies that could possibly connect to the single hand grasping the knife back at the front counter of the shop, until he got to the door leading to the shops freezer...

The freezer doors handle was spun to the left until it unlocked and with a simple push given by the supervisor, it opened. A gust of cold air flew out and breezed into the supervisors' face. He walked in and looked around, at the end of the freezer would have a meat rack... On this meat rack was a fat man missing his organs, two eyes and his left hand - it was Jerry. Right besides the meat rack on the wall would have pieces of flesh and organs with the blood on the wall making up words, disdained words. "There is no end to punishment, a plague overseers the lands once more." The supervisor left, disgusted, forensics showed up, detectives showed up and a few unidentifiable law enforcement agents. The time of deaths were figured out, no longer than half an hour which led to the general area being shut off and searched for. The time spent in their search was pointless and nothing was found directly, however, few civilians reported they saw a bloodied person running in a rush somewhere, most guessed it was the hospital but no one felt the need to help, so where he ran to was still unknown...

"I have to leave..."
"Do you?"
Sammy was stuck, a problem occurred. He had nowhere to go but he had to leave, yet he questioned if he should. Sammy spoke out for the first time in ages, "What was that?"
Breaking the long lasting silence.
"It was you."

It's becoming certain that there's something else within Sammy other than himself, and that second voice which only speaks in discerning times was not a figment of his imagination, tiredness or anything of the sorts. It manifested, it's real, it is somebody, it is something...

Years went unanswered, the Government began releasing classified information of the past events public, it began spreading like wildfire, folktales, news, whatever people could entertain themselves with. However, such entertainment turned to fear on the Visby village, while others had their fun and entertainments with the media, the folktales and whatnot, the unanswered years came back to haunt the town, leaving more questions unanswered. On the year 2010, the Swedish village known as Visby began losing its population, every day there would be reports of one dead person, if unlucky, up to two dead people a day. All these deaths had only one thing in common, the cutting was expertise, their organs were missing and they were unseamed from their necks to their bellies. Such cases soon interlinked with old ones and Samson Marsh was already officialised as a prime suspect back in 2003, though he went missing, until now. With forensics rapidly improving, all these cases soon interlinked. Each passing evidence led more and more to the prime suspect, Samson Marsh.

And on 2010, on the fateful night of the 11th month of the year, 11th day and on the 11th midnight hour, the silence was finally broken. Screams and shouts heard all over in a vicinity, the rushing of intrigued and curious mothers, fathers and the young to a certain two story house. The door wide open, a brave man takes a peak in and a sight that will haunt him and his kin for generations is revealed. Samson Marsh standing over a family of three, a single mother and her two children. In his hand is a butchers knife, a worn looking one. Authorities were alerted the minute the screams were heard and they mobilized in a matter of minutes and as they made their way, Samson did not move an inch. He stood over the corpses of the family with their guts hanging off the railings of the staircase and the blood all over the rooms and floors. The sheriff deputies arriving in two squad cars with a third soon following up, armed and ready, they rush to the doorway of the house and enter slowly, even gagging from the sight. Samson Marsh was surrounded and arrested by authorities on 2010, November the 11th at 11:11pm.

Samson Marsh was given a trial shortly after and after countless amount of trials, interrogation and meetings. Samson Marsh was given the death penalty, however, due to the outlaw of the death penalty in Sweden, he was to be transferred out of the country and to be convicted of his crimes and given judgement in Indiana, U.S.

His trials and any information of his present murders were kept quiet from public, the truth was kept hidden in Visby with its residents and with the Government.

Samson Marsh soon ended up in Indiana, U.S. He was kept and facilitated in Indiana State Prison till another transfer occurred. Samson Marsh was blindfolded and put in the back of a 'Foods' hauler. He was taken on a hours long journey, unknown to how much time really went by and ended up being facilitated in a underground facility known as the SCP:Foundation. He was stripped of his name and went by a string of numbers, he was dehumanised. However, amongst his fellow 'Class-D', he was known as the "Butcher".

Class-D 4322 was soon identified for being a anomaly, as soon as such claims were reported and made, he was taken out of Class-D confinement and put in a separate confinement. Years worth of research went down, the researchers often facing struggle a hesitancy from Class-D 4322. Such experiments that took place to see if such claims were true were; telepathic communication; anomalous being within body and the trigger for the activation of the anomalous being. These experiments went down for years, approximately 8 years. In 2014, the telepathic communication experiment was ruled 'PARTIALLY SUCCESSFUL' as there were complications to such a claim. Class-D 4322 was not the source of such communication and only one researcher was affected, they claimed to have heard a quote, "Nay avert thee eyes for he too is a human." Identified as a possible quote from an old century writer, the anomalous being within Class-D 4322 is expected to be hundreds of years old, if not even longer. In 2014, the second experiment was also confirmed but a complete 'SUCCESS'. With the first experiment being partially successful, it soon led to more evidence that the claims for the second experiment were true, this anomaly was nicknamed the 'Butcher', after the murderous nickname of Samson Marsh. In 2018, the third experiment came to an end and was ruled 'UNKNOWN', however, a activation was found, just not a completely understandable activation. Activation can be triggered by... REDACTED

Class-D 4322 returned back to Class-D confinement, he was given the class 'Thaumiel'. Such a class came to be when Foundation personnel offered to prolong his life as long as the foundation had 4322's help in any anomalous containments as well as any future experiments. A deal came about and both sides found common grounds."

The faithful love of the Lord never ends. His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh every morning. - Lamentations 3:22-23. You may stand up now, I have some news for you."

"In short, 4322, you'll be assigned to a operation and your task will be to help with any anomalies as well as the safety of the future human race... Your case is quite the interesting one. May our lord be with you, good bye."

DR. BELLAMY WHITTLE
1675034057622.png
"Do you hear it, too?"

'The Deranged Doctor'. This was the condescending nickname given to Bellamy, by many of his peers-- coworkers that he even once considered friends. Those he used to eat at lunch with, those he used to share documents and theoretical predictions with. Now, Bellamy sits alone-- fighting a losing war against his own mind, his own thoughts threatening to cave in and turn on him at the slightest moment. He had been so close, so close to gaining everything he could have dreamed of in his life... but now, he's left to ponder, where it all started-- and where it all went wrong.

Bellamy Whittle had been born in the capital of Australia, also known as Canberra. What his family lacked in financial stability, they made up for in caring warmth, and love for one another. Despite their money-based limitations, each of them were very ambitious people-- with Bellamy being the core of the dreaming in the family. His family always supported anything and everything he had delved into, even if they didn't believe it would succeed personally. Bellamy had most notably excelled immensely within his education, and didn't even sacrifice a social life for it-- being known by his classmates as a fun-loving person to be around.

He worked, day-and-night, always waiting for the next day to do it all over again-- and the hard work had paid off in the form of a heavenly deal. He was offered by many representatives from the Australian National University, to attend their prestigious college. He would have been a fool not to accept it, and their family was torn-- they most clearly didn't have a fraction of the amount to pay for the classes, even with the piles upon piles of scholarships Bellamy had gained, but they still knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And so, they ultimately made the decision; that Bellamy would be the first Whittle to ever go to college. Bellamy had troubles of his own, and it was primarily based on the age-old question of what major to choose.

He knew he had to succeed in this, as a high-paying job would be necessary to pay off the copious student debt his family had put themselves in to get him to where he was. One day, as he was finishing up the final work he would ever do in High School-- near the local park, he came across a billboard that sparked something in him. It was a simple job advertisement, depicting a whale towering above a luscious coral reef-- and the slogan; 'DO MORE, SO THEY DON'T END UP ON THE SHORE'. Bellamy never cared much for the ocean or any of it-- he hardly ever went on the beach, to begin with. But, for some reason, this had specifically gotten him-- he wasn't sure why, and even to this day the best answer he could come up with was due to it being a late-night session-- and that he was tired... but, Bellamy knew what he was going to do. At the end of the semester, he had majored in Marine Biology-- and set the course for the rest of his life.

He went the extra mile in his classes, passing them with flying colors and getting his PhD in little to no time. Stepping out of college as a fresh doctor in the metaphorical ocean of life, the next part of his career proved to be somehow harder than the actual schoolwork-- which was actually FINDING a job. His city had seemingly been devoid of any job positions, and even looking for the previous job advertised on that billboard many years ago seemed to lead to dead-end upon dead-end. One day, precisely the day after he had moved into a house and settled in, he got a knock on his door late in the Afternoon. A representative had come, claiming he hailed from a private organization that had kept a close eye on Bellamy's track record-- and was enthralled by his academic enthusiasm and success.

They told him they were touched by his 'story', of a boy who came from nothing-- and ended up succeeding through tough times, whether or not that was true had been left to the imagination. They soon discussed a contract, a high-paying job as a researcher for said company. At first, Bellamy had felt off about the nature of this 'company'-- but, he was desperate, and calculated he would have to work AGES to even scratch the surface of his student debt. And so, his eagerness to get out there and work overtook him, and he signed off with what he now knows as the SCP Foundation. Starting off as a low-level researcher, he had to work his way up from the mailroom-- to the lab, and eventually to the field.

His exposure to the SCP Foundation's mission, and goal, of capturing anomalous entities struck Bellamy as absolutely ludicrous, and unbelievable. That was until he watched a recording of a severed human head slithering upon the ocean floor through tentacles. He wasn't sure what to think after that, and eventually, he became sort of unphased by it-- he understood these anomalies, and he understood the threat they posed to humanity. He didn't exactly view them as 'incomprehensible', or 'monstrous'-- but instead more likened to species of critters and other organisms humanity is just now discovering. He wasn't sure if he exactly believed this theory, considering many of these anomalies had time-breaking abilities and things that would destroy the laws of nature-- but, it helped him sleep at night.

His PhD caused him to be steered towards more aquatic-based of these anomalies-- and he soon rose to stardom after posting a very articulated article on the nature of SCP-835 that changed many existing theories of the newly-discovered SCP and made people really use their noggins. By that point, Bellamy was on the list for practically any future exploration missions relating to water-based SCPs. He found himself out in the field more than he was in the laboratory, which was a-okay in his book-- he loved getting out there and traveling. However, one day, he had been whisked off the coast of Bengal on a Mobile Task Force warship for a recon expedition to determine how large SCP-3000 was-- an anomalous eel-like creature of massive proportions that the SCP Foundation had truly no idea of what it had been capable of. The still waters slowly become more and more maddening to the crew, each of them hearing whispers from the deep as they neared its nesting grounds-- threatening to pull them in and submerge them into the murky brine.

Bellamy watched as armed soldiers smashed their heads against the walls of the hallways until it was mush, many abandoning ship in favor of flailing into the open waves and surely drowning. Bellamy heard voices that became deafening by the first week, and by that point, it was a madhouse-- the agitated, broken-down soldiers began turning on each other-- gunfire filled the skies and bodies hit the ground. Bellamy, while he still had a sliver of his free will intact, fled for the escape rafts-- and as he took to the waters, far away from the warship upon his evacuation vessel-- he met the ugly head of the beast. Far off in the distance, it tore through the warship-- bringing it, and all of its inhabitants, down with one swift blow. He had bore witness to-- what he believed-- was a God.

He only saw it for a second, maybe less, but just the mere contact that his eyes made with it brought him crumpling to his knees. The rest of it was a blur, and Foundation agents claim that they found Bellamy washed up on the shores of Bengal in a rescue operation. It broke him, even more, to be told that he was the only survivor found. This made him develop an unhealthy belief that he had been blessed by the anomaly, the memory-altering capabilities of it culminating like a tumor within Bellamy's subconsciousness. This grew and grew, and Bellamy felt himself slowly slipping from his grip on reality.

It became a burden to think, a pain to remember-- the faces of his loved ones mashed into a blur that Bellamy was helpless to fight against. He forgot things important to him and remembered things he'd rather wish he didn't. Intrusive thoughts toyed with his mind, and the long-winded tests Foundation psychologists would run had all come up with more questions than answers. The SCP Foundation had no clue what to do, and the available options tore them. They needed to keep him busy, however, and reluctantly sent him on a mission to AREA-354 after the trained psychologists announced he was stable enough to perform as Head Researcher there.

Bellamy knows his time is short, he believes, and he's dead-set on making the most of it-- using whatever sanity he can grapple with to get the job done. However, at the same time, deep down... he hates the Foundation-- he hates that they sent them onboard that ship, and he thinks he hates the bellowing beast that tore his mind asunder... but, at the same time, his mind tells him otherwise?

*Brief summary of Character:
A man in his 30's who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, he was abducted by the foundation and now he's a Class-D. He's a pretty nice dude, if you manage to look past the fact he killed a shitton of people he's actually fun to chill with.

*Character Backstory:

He was a guy that did some bad shit in life, since he was a kid he always was a little rascal going in and out of family houses. He used to murder small animals, then went on to kill bigger ones such as that one fucking kid who used to cry all the time during recess, holy shit Michael you could've shut the fuck up and now you could've been a doctor.

In his teens he was even more violent, murdering an entire classroom by starting a fire and making all of them burn to death; What a twisted fuck. But only at 35 years old he was caught when he used a forklift to commit vehicular manslaughter and murder eighty people at a mall. He was caught because the vehicle couldn't outrun the police cars.

Now he's in the custody of the foundation, not murdering anyone and trying not to get killed himself by the hands of the guards or one of the monsters that they may keep. So yeah, he's having a great time.

View attachment 18675

*Brief summary of Character: A man in his 30's who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, he was abducted by the foundation and now he's a Class-D.

*Character Name:
Gianbattista Pierluigi

*Role you're applying for:
Mechanical Engineer

*Brief summary of Character:
A fairly new hiree in the facility's maintenance roster, a young Italian lad who emigrated from his glorious fatherland to here searching for purpose and a career that could fruit him some good money. And he kinda found it, fixing wires, cells, and whatever else you may find in a facility containing god knows what monsters even the sickest mind couldn't come up with. So, in conclusion, Battista found what he was looking for... Only that it's a bit more dangerous than he expected.

*Character Backstory:

1675272871865.png

Born in the late nineties, Battista always had a passion for cars and mechanical work in general. He used to play around with his father's toolbox, repairing other kids' toys and sometimes dismantling broken bikes to then sell the scrap metal he'd retrieve for a couple of euros, just enough to buy himself a nice ice cream b.

1675272960615.png
(A photo his father took of when he was younger)

He always was a hard-working and determined kid, who once set his goals on something it was hard for him to let go of it. At school... He wasn't the best, but he still managed to get good enough votes to pass the classes. He also started working when he still was fairly young, at about thirteen years old he helped out the local mechanic with a couple of simple jobs.

1675273011760.png

The most feared period of a child by parents, this is when kids start shaping the adult they'll be once the time to grow up finally arrives... And Battista had a clear Idea of who he wanted to be. After finishing middle school, he decided to enroll inside an professional institute so that he could learn more about mechanics; This turned out to be a great choice.

1675273409515.png
(The Officina he used to work in)

In his teens, Gian used to get a couple of money by performing some simple jobs for his friend's and relatives. Be it fixing a Vespa, a small Cinquanta, or even a broken heater, be relieved because this man had your back. He loved doing that, he loved the expression people made when he fixed those things, and he sure as hell loved the money.

1675273522318.png
One day, while returning to work, he was greeted by his mother with tears in her eyes. She smiled at him and showed him a letter saying he was selected to work in a prestigious factory as a mechanical engineer all the way in America, safe to say that Battista was euphoric about the whole thing.

He contacted them and packed up, flying over there with a private plane paid by the company. Battista felt like a whole other person, he was used to old cars and cattle; And he was awestruck when the beautiful skyscrapers and modern art of American culture were presented to him as he was flying over them.

The landing though wasn't the best... As soon as he got off the plane, he was escorted by a group of suited men inside of a black van. He was told the real side of the job, and if he refused he would've been issued powerful anesthetics and sent back to Italy. He couldn't refuse the great pay, so he decided to accept the position.

There he is, now. Working for the SCP foundation as yet another Engineer... Going around the place, fixing whatever needs to be fixed. Due to his great results, he was chosen to participate in an operation alongside other personell, and the pay was just too good to say no.

However, he is much more recognized as being one of the few lucky people to "survive" an encounter with SCP-3000-- an incident that has permanently shattered his mind and scrambled his thoughts due to its mind-altering abilities. He's been deemed stable enough for a backwater mission at AREA-354, while the Foundation struggles to come to a consensus on what to do with the poor researcher.

DR. BELLAMY WHITTLE
View attachment 18675

Born in the late nineties, Battista always had a passion for cars and mechanical work in general. He used to play around with his father's toolbox, repairing other kids' toys and sometimes dismantling broken bikes to then sell the scrap metal he'd retrieve for a couple of euros, just enough to buy himself a nice ice cream b.
