I want to preface this by saying I'm kinda shocked

Steam Name: FaceTheSLAYER
SteamID:

Name of the Admin you were banned by:
M!NT
How long is the ban for?:
Permanantly
The reason you were banned?:
"Using /actstand 3 to clip your camera through walls to see inside bases."
Why do you wish to be unbanned?:
Because I play the server quite often and have a lot of fun with the people here. I can sort of recall what M!NT is mentioning in the 'Reason', I believe to be a few days ago, I don't really know, I think it was very late. I had noticed maybe a few days prior that there must have been an update in my two year hiatus that disabled certain acts when near walls. (Having very long pauses between typing all this right now, trying to actually recall what happened). I don't remember if I was trying to use an act near or door or whatever, like I had used to use /actwindow to look through a doorway, which you can't do anymore due to this bugfix of clipping that must have been added that I mentioned previously. I probably was thinking about that at the time and was annoyed about it, likely wanting to see to what extent this fix actually fixed clipping through the map. Still I can't be sure as I can't remember, because what I was doing had no intention to actually meta anything at all.
This is sort of hard to appeal for, as the action took place days ago, and was something that I was not thinking was malicious to the game at all, so sorry for the jumbled paragraph of non-coherent thoughts.

Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?:
no

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them)
no just mint who banned me

Hello.

You are correct here in noticing that you cannot use an act commands within close proximity to doors. This is because of some longstanding bugs in the hull detection code which runs when you exit an act animation that results in you sometimes getting TPd to the other side of the doorway. So, in the willard schema we have detections for this and disable the command when you're near a door. That's not exactly why I banned you though.

I banned you for exploiting because the logs indicate you using /ActStand 3 to see through walls in advantageous positions, which is considered an exploit and an abuse of the act animation mechanic. I've outlined a few of these incidents below:

You loaded up on the character 'Geezer Kilmister', then proceeded to first ActStand 3 facing the door leading to the CyberCafe. This didn't work, because the code checks for proximity to doors due to other similar exploits.

You then proceeded to do it at the opposite wall, and noticed you could see through said wall. You remained in this animation for 7 seconds before exiting:

A little bit later, you decided to do this at the RDT which let you see into the RDT through the wall:

Then a little bit later you did it once more to see through this wall.

This is all correct, yes. This was during late hours when I was exploring the map when no one else was on. Not saying what I did was correct or not, and I want to also state I did it with no malicious intent. I have zero history of metagaming and/or being involved in serious events or raids, and even then I don’t see a permanent ban as an acceptable amount of time

its been four days now, I would have expected a little more than one reply by now

Your ban is under discussion. Adding more useless replies to it serves absolutely no purpose.

I would like to know why this is actually taking so long. It’s going to be a week now and I have barely received any feedback. This should have been an open and shut case, and at this point it’s more negatively affecting people’s RP (absence of my character) than anything I did for this ban.
I have not heard any more explanation of why I had this ban, and why it was given to the massive extent of a permanent ban. I’ve been on Willard forever and I’m disappointed with this, feeling totally disregarded, the communication here is horrendous and the semi-aggressive non-answer of it being “under discussion” feels a little insulting. I’m a part of this community and I want to be treated like it.

i will reduce this to a month, you did do exploitation here thus why it is isn't an full unban.

next time will be longer
