I'm sure, as many of you know that as of recently, the weather has drastically changed within City-24 to one of snow and it being pretty cold;

I personally would like to see this expanded to our next destination if it's applicable and perhaps ramp the scale up a bit further since it has been promoting some great roleplay and enjoyable experiences for all.

Snow is great, but a blizzard is cooler. :)

Actual weather effects impacting what clothes your character should wear would be amazing. It'd also be cool if we had to use stuff like radiators and campfires to stay alive against the cold, or suffer major stat debuffs and eventual death. Incentivises grouping up around warm places and indoor RP, such as warm apartments.

Kind of like the gas effect, but on the surface in relation to cold? - It would be great to see, however difficult to implement unless management wish to designate specific non-cold zones and cold zones.

I have a feeling 50% of all the characters won't care about the cold, just as they haven't before.

I'm still all for it, simply because I like snow and a good change of scenery.

Sounds like a them problem for not roleplaying it accordingly, they will get picked up on it eventually,

However, to those who enjoy it, it's more beneficial. Cater to those whom actually roleplay.

This is very possible, because I've worked with the area designator tool, and currently setting gas zones is as easy as selecting a part of the map, and toggling whether or not it's a gas zone. Theoretically, the cold could operate under the same principle.

That is precisely what I was thinking; however, it would not only require an adjustment itself to said area designator tool to introduce a new sub-type; it also means additional sections for each building and area. From experience, setting this up would take half a day, depending on the map size — It also depends on how long the weather would be deemed to stay like this if it was even worth the time and effort.

We were working on a temperature system before but it was very experimental and untested in the past. It was ultimately dropped in favour of running events with Stormfox. Weather is good for quality of ambient life, but rest assured a constant weather impact will get people to be fed up - at least over time if continual.

Yes, but when you do Blackout and Food Shortage Event, which gets annoying after 1 Day and 1 Week and having the CCA and T-5 / T-6 fed and saved. Of course everyone else is annoyed about it

That has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion, but OK.

I see what you mean and I fully agree with you, although I would like to add that the weather could be in control of the team at all times..
So it won't really be continual unless you want it to be.

I'd honestly love to see something like this, adding more elements of survival in general would add to the atmosphere of a decrepit 1984 state.
People being forced to work together so that they might survive, not just because they are rebels but because the combine does not give a flying fuck whether they survive the night or not.

They can make that

Snow just feels like more strain on the server for a bit of decoration. It's not worth it imo, until devs figure out a way to make body temp mechanics.

I like it when the map gets snowier as it gets snowier IRL. Lets me have small talk about the weather ICly.

Survival mechanics that serve to annoy players who ignore their bodily needs would be cool. Hunger/thirst should utterly decimate stamina/skills when at zero (because how can you think of anything but sustenance when you're starving), and cold should affect screen overlay/walk speed if a cold meter gets too high
