Hello, There was a community meeting held yesterday to discuss the results of a Survey which @Imperator RAD-X created in order to get the communities opinions on several topics which currently affect the Main Server.

In Particular I would like to discuss the results for these three questions:

I just want to see what the community thinks of these results from those who were unable to attend the meeting last night.

=================================

Personally, I believe that completely leaving City RP behind may be extremely difficult for everyone as not only will staff be put under stressful tasks to continuously putting out these megaevents all with complex and unique narratives from one another, but it will also affect the players as some would definitely need to abandoned their few month long characters as it would not make sense for them to 'coincidently' end up exactly where the megaevent is every time.

I believe to spice things up we should remain in City 24 but go to another district (eg. Another Map) as not only would it be good to keep characters new and old but it wouldn't affect the narrative much at all other than a fresh change of environment (which is desperately needed)

Overall I feel there should be a change to City RP as it feels bland and boring, (I brought this up last night as well) as it seems nobody RPs with eachother, businesses are always shut. Worlshifts are the only haven for RP but they come around once every two hours. It feels as though its early morning all the time. It would make you think there was about 8-12 people on but then when you look at the scoreboard you see 48/80...

Open disclosure from survey & community meeting that occurred yesterday. Thanks to everyone who took part, if anyone has any thoughts as per what's been disclosed now - feel free to send them forth in this thread made by Craw.

Leaving a static main server behind will probably cause the community to crumble - and I'm not trying to be a doomsdayer, more so that most of the script work and other stuff cannot be neatly folded into short stories. It simply won't get used, and won't leave the community with much to show for given the massive dev time.

Every and any server of HL2:RP has lived or died based on its City roleplay. It's fundamentally impossible to extricate oneself from it on an near-permanent to permanent basis and escape without a loss, if heavy losses. I think I am in agreement with RedHotGinger's words and ideas of a multi-district method. That my thoughts can be paraphrased that each district could have some unique flavour to make them more unique as they can be, which I had in mind for an Industrial district.

Follow WN7's example and become episodic. I am the Messiah and I speak only the truth.

Question Two is almost a flat 50-50 which cannot be ignored. Our community is clearly split between a playerbase that intends to see other forms of non-city roleplay and city roleplay. I'm going to take a rough guess and say that the people who preferred City Roleplay as the bread-and-butter of this community are also combine-faction mains which are seriously disadvantaged if we move away from City Roleplay?

remove the player base, then vote yourself-
boom, 100% on one answer.

IDC what you say HL2RP is not fun unless you are CP or a Rebel with access to easy guns

IDC what you say HL2RP is not fun unless you are CP or a Rebel with access to easy guns

On a more serious note the "Combine" faction also includes all of the loyalists/CWU/CCA who are also heavily disavantaged or effectively rendered extinct if we move away from City RP

easy fix, make the server a PVP TDM since they complain that much about not being able to rp without a gun

Friendly reminder that obtaining a gun + armour + storage as a BRAND NEW rebel char can take you around 2.5 hours playing entirely solo, and people want this “grind” reduced even further.

Explain how citizen RP is fun and how it keeps the players hooked on playing Willard
very primitive and uncreative of you to think that way. when I started my journey in hl2rp, the most fun I've had was fuck around as a citizen. store owner, store worker, cwu, cmu, whatever. It was fun as shit to go around, meet up with random people and talk about smack and what's going on lately, and form relationships in this fucked up world where mommy and daddy are long gone because some alien race fucked you and everybody so much you don't even own what's in your own pocket. for me, that was the fun in hl2rp.

Where is proof?!??
